Somebody got there after me and went directly to the person on the grill and they gave them tacos. I get that they probably knew them, but they did that before paying customers. I stopped by El Taco Loco food truck late tonight and had one of the best customer service experiences I've had in a long time. What really stood out to me was their 11-year-old son working the window--he was absolutely phenomenal. So mature, polite, and customer-oriented. He took my order with confidence, repeated it back to make sure it was correct, and handled the interaction like a true professional. You can tell he's learning from the best, both his mother and father and it's clear he's made for the business. You just don't see kids like that these days. When my cousin recommended we check out this taco truck, I was a bit hesitant. A taco truck that has veggie tacos and burritos? Can't be good. A taco truck in Walla Walla? Can't be good. Glad to say that I was wrong and pleasantly surprised. I was visiting for a graduation and interestingly enough, Walla Walla is supposedly known for their local taco trucks. This specific one is located off of Ninth Ave behind Melody Muffler. I ordered 2 beef tacos and 1 pork taco. After devouring the aforementioned tacos , I walked back to the truck to order some more: 1 beef and 1 chicken taco. The guy in the truck smiled at me when I made my second order like "I knew you'd be back". Yes, yes indeed sir. The beef and pork were seasoned just right and were moist with the pork having a bit of a kick to it. The chicken, however was a bit salty. Both the green and red salsas provided were flavorful and spicy. Unlike the usual taco trucks I go to, no radishes or jalapeños were offered on the side. It's not a good location--but if you can't find a place to park nearby, it's worth a walk. I asked for a beef burrito with no rice or beans. No problem. I asked whether the beef is shredded or ground. The guy looked at me like I was loco. "It's steak." For the price of a drive-thru burger I got the best burrito I've had in 30 years! best and biggest burritos in town. honestly i like the tacos from La Monarca bettter, but only because they have a larger variety and their green sauce is soooooo good, but El Taco Loco's tacos are pretty amazing too. i will typicaly get 4 or 5 tacos, usually chicken or beef (the pork is excellent also) and there is usually enough meat, onions, and cilantro too make another taco or two. now if only i could get these guys to move closer to CdA........... read more
