Came to check out what the hype was all about. This is a really nice set up with ordering first then going to your table and there's a bar area in the back. Plenty of tables. There was live music on a Friday evening which was a nice touch. I had three tacos (pastor and carne asada). The tacos had lots of onions so if you're not a fan of onion - beware. I ordered a side of cilantro lime rice and it was okay. Didn't have much flavor and seemed a bit more like sticky rice. I ordered the sangria which was really good. I'd go back to try other items and drinks! I was disappointed that there wasn't much for chicken options/chicken tacos. Hubby and I were headed to Hoochies and eat crab legs and shrimp but we spotted across this new Taco shop and it looked dead but once you go inside the establishment is large and lots of sitting and it's real nice. You get greeted at the front menus by the door wall and order with a nice smile and some fresh waters which I tried and didn't enjoy but gave it a try for the spike horchata and that was like drinking pool water and loads of ice. Recommend just the orchata. Had the 3 tacos queso birria, steak and barbacoa. All taste bomb! Salsas amazing!! The corn in a cup tasty and so are the beans and rice. Also ordered a tres leches cake nice portion and taste good. All to say my poor husband got food poisoning and it was bad! We should have gone with sea food. You order at the front counter and they bring the food to you. Service was great! Food was delicious. Music was a bit loud for us. But we are sound sensitive and one of us is blind. Food was brought out quickly. First delivered was chips and salsa. The salsa was good and warm. Very mildly spicy, if at all. The chips were served warm, fresh and crispy. I had a great time at El Taco H. When I walked in there were 3 or 4 customers in front of me but I definitely see why. The cashier at the front will greet you with a smile and help you take your order. I remember having the big burrito and that thing was packed with some amazing food. I had not heard of any of the meats that the cashier listed but I'm glad I asked her to choose what she likes best. It was so good. The only thing that I noticed is that their tablet will automatically select 20% tip so you may want to watch out for that if you want to choose a different option. Also for the small things like a quesadilla, recommend that the customer buy two or let them know that it's a small item. You can definitely tell that the company has invested in technology. They give you a device that looks like the ones which vibrate when you're waiting for a table at a crowded restaurant. But you put the device on the table and when your food is ready the staff actually know where to bring the food out to. The design of the place is amazing. It's a wrestling theme that reminds me of Nacho Libre but they do it in a way where it's entertaining but also how a restaurant should look. Currently, if you go on the 1st or 3rd Friday you'll want to wait around. Because there's this nice guy nicknamed "Salsa with Jo" who gives a free dance lesson on how to do Bachata. The most memorable thing was how hard the staff work. I needed a to go box for my big burrito. The manager had acknowledged me and took the time to get me one. As far as cleanliness goes, there is no complaints. There's a taco bar area and because the dancing started I put my empty drink down as I didn't see any garbages that were out. Within 5 minutes it was picked up because the staff that is in charge of making it nice is constantly checking it for quality. I live 30 minutes away from this location but I look forward to spending more time eating at El Taco H. read more

The food is very, very good. A fun place to explore the menu, including the drinks and the sauce bar. I have yet to try anything that's not top-notch. I came here with my boyfriends family for a lunch. The layout of the restaurant is nice with ordering in the front and a nice patio out back. I liked the toppings bar and enjoyed all the salsas and extras. I ordered the Birria ramen. It was worth trying once. My favorite was the gringa taco. There are so many taco places in Denton and my heart will continue to be with some of the traditional OG taquerias. But this place is amazing!! These guys are so legit that they don't even have queso because it's not truly Mexican. Read about their story, it's super cool. The venue is so cool, the layout, the salsa bar, and the outside patio. I love it. I went three times the first two weeks they were open!! You order the food at the counter when you walk in and then they bring it to you. They have homemade horchata which is delicious and many other flavors of fruit drinks. We got the birria tacos which appeared to be fried and served with consommé. We were told that these tacos have won "tacos of the year" many times over which is quite an accomplishment in Texas. When getting chips and salsa you can get a free tray of chips to use with various spicy concoctions on the salsa buffet. The friendly gal at the counter thought we would be ok with that option but she gave us more credit than we deserved. At least half of us were in tears with faces aflame but full disclaimer; we're rather wimpy in the spicy foods department. There's another option where you can pay around $5 to get the warm in temperature salsa with a tray of chips. Next time we go we'll opt for that. Kiddos got quesadillas and taco plate. Delicious! The taco plate and birria tacos came with beans and cilantro rice which were a hit. The restaurant has plenty of seating with a bar in the back. Bathrooms are right up front. read more

Great afternoon lunch. Came here after our hike in the nearby Lake Worth Nature area. I got the chicken cheese steak. Very nicely cooked. Chicken was not dry or overcooked. The bun was the right kind of thickness. Our 13 yo got the one meat plate (brisket) with a loaded bake potato. The meat was fork-cut tender and very juicy. When we got back in the car he said everything was great. He added he would try the three-meat plate next time. The spouse got the loaded potato skins with a side salad. She said it was great but that everything had too much cheese. Clearly she's wrong because that's not a real thing. None of us had any leftovers which meant all of the portion sizes were perfect. The food is delicious, and it's so easy to order a la carte or a taco plate to try the different items available.
