Boscoe's Place - Cheese Sticks

Boscoe's Place

My husband would rate Boscoe's Place a 5 I rate it a 4…read more It's an attractive establishment. Kinda bar- kinda bistro. Very clean and service was friendly. Hubs said the pizza was phenomenal! He ordered the 8" Bosco's supreme original crust. The pizza has a sprinkle of a parmesan / garlic seasoning he described as amazing. Crust was thin buttery crisp but not a cracker. I had the Avocado salad with grilled chicken. Without asking I ordered the large and it was HUGE. Roasted tomatoes that could have been bruschetta topping, green onion and cheese were layered in tbe greens. The chicken was lightly breaded. My fault again for not asking. I would have preferred non breaded. It was good, that's just my personal preference. I would describe the salad as fluffy. I substituted all Romain for the hydroponic green leaf and their crunchy power mix because I have a medical reaction to the Vitamin K found in most lettuce varieties. It was a lot of food but I finished it. The ranch was very garlicky. The Restaurant was loud with chatter and the sound of chairs scraping across the cement floors. I was able to see a total of 2 TV's behind the bar. We sat at a 6 top table. The tables resembled cafeteria tables with a wooden veneer. Perfectly acceptable. But the chairs were hard and uncomfortable. There is plenty of street parking and a public parking lot on the corner.

We stopped here on our way to Kentucky and we are so glad we did! There was a wait of maybe 15…read moreminutes as the place was hopping on a Friday night, and I can see why. The staff was so friendly and welcoming, and our waitress was great and recommended the spinach dip. We split the dip and the Drunken Swine flatbread and they both were very good. We are already planning to stop here on the way back and maybe try the pickle pizza and the bison burger. We thought about getting the peanut butter pie for dessert but were too full, next time for sure! The ambiance is very cozy too with a mix of historic and modern feel. This place put Wapakoneta on the map for me, and I will be back to explore more!

Today the plant manager was kind enough to take me to lunch. This is the restaurant she chose and I was not disappointed. We were immediately greeted at the door and were told to choose our own seats. The waitress was very friendly and was prompt with taking our drink orders. I wish I was not on the clock because their bar seemed to have a good selection of different alcohols with some I have never saw. They even had a few decanters on the shelf I wish I would have asked about. I asked for a Dr. Pepper but the waitress let me know they have a soda like it but not the actual brand. I also regret not asking the brand of the soda because it was actually more flavorful than Dr. Pepper. I ordered the bison burger and red potatoes and my boss ordered a pizza. Our food came out pretty quickly and looked great.I did not try the pizza but it looked cooked perfectly with a nice crisp on the crust, next time I will try the pizza for sure it reminded me of my times in Italy. The red potatoes were cooked nicely and seasoned tastefully. The bison burger came with pickles, a green relish type mixture, and a dab of what I believe was a blue cheese. All though the meat could of used some more seasoning, the relish was more like a sweet jam spread and paired perfectly with the bison.Greatly enjoyed my lunch and without a doubt will be returning soon.

Just fabulous and five stars all around. This is a relatively small establishment but the tables…read moreare thoughtfully arranged to allow more seating without feeling crowded. They even have a cute four-seat bar at the rear. Decor is charming Italian bistro style. Food and drink menus are displayed underneath plexiglass right on your tabletop. Brilliant! I imagine they swap out lunch menu card for dinner at the appropriate time. Chalkboard provides soup of the day and any specials. Service was excellent. Prompt, welcoming, knowledgeable and perfectly attentive. Drink AND bread refills were offered at the right time, and when I was getting full, the waitress offered to wrap the leftovers without me having to ask her. I wish I'd noted her name for a shout out! The soup of the day was Roasted Garlic, and on her recommendation we started with a blended cup of this plus their house soup, Roasted Tomato. It was full of flavor without being overwhelming. The included croutons were a perfect texture to go with soup. I had the tricolor cheese tortellini with fresh tomato sauce and upgraded to add spicy Italian sausage. The dish was a dream in every way. Sausage was so authentically Italian and nice and spicy. I was also offered shakers of Parmesan and red pepper flakes. My husband really enjoyed his braised beef panini and the horseradish based dipping sauce that accompanied it. This restaurant is aptly named as I found it to be an Italian foodie paradise. Parking is somewhat challenging and that is the sole negative. Highly recommended!
