It was my wife's birthday and she wanted to try this restaurant - I'm so glad we did! The prices reflect the high quality of the food and the creative way it's prepared. Expect that. It's a new building (restaurant and hotel) that is very tastefully thought out. They have an extensive drink menu that includes wine, beer, liquors and cocktails. I was DD so I couldn't imbibe but my wife enjoyed the wine and a port with dessert. We started with the bread selection and the Sycamore Bridge salad. The breads were fresh and delicious, they came with butter topped with black Hawaiian salt. Nice! The salad was large and we shared it. Great leafy greens, pumpkin, cheese, coated nuts and a great vinaigrette lightly coating it. Again, Nice! Next, we both ordered scallops. Large scallops heavenly seared but cooked inside perfectly, they were delicious. They came with crispy small crushed potatoes and a small legume I'm not familiar with. I loved it all! The mushrooms were fried perfectly so that you have a nice crunch when you bite then go right into the meaty texture. The Anchovy aioli hit. The burger had a lot going on, but didn't lack in any layer. Milk bun was perfect to hold it all together. And Dessert sent up to the room was a great life choice. My friends from high school and I lunched at Silas's last Friday and it was amazing. First, everything is beautiful, service is excellent and the food was sooo wonderful! I loved my grilled cheese and the tenderloin chili was...well you loved every bite! We started with the beef fat fries and house-made catsup...it's not to be missed! The servings are generous...everything was marvelous! After lunch, when my car wouldn't start, their facilities manager gave my battery a jump to get me going! I love that they always have specials that are not on the regular menu. Tonight we got the fire roasted vegetables with hummus and house made naan, and it was one of the best things we've had there. A little more about our previous Silas experiences...We had already been there a few times for lunch before we booked for Mother's Day brunch. I usually avoid going out on Mother's Day because it's just crazy busy & every place is so overrun that the quality of the food & service suffers. NOT HERE! Lured in by their description of the buffet options, I asked my husband to book us a table for the Mother's Day experience. We went with our youngest two children, both of whom are in their late teens. They got to have very pretty specialty drinks without alcohol, and they felt so grown up! :D The server went out of her way to make us feel pampered & special. The food was all beautifully arranged and delicious. There was a nice variety, too. Best of all, because they hadn't overbooked, even though the place was relatively full we didn't feel like cattle at a feed trough & we weren't running in to people. Each table had a vase of fresh cut flowers. My meal came with a complimentary cocktail, cut flower & other nice little gifts. I was really impressed with how lovely everything was! Went here for lunch...nice place with clean atmosphere and great service. But... the meals were disappointing. Prime rib sandwich consisted of one very thin slice (think cold cut) that was shredded. It was easy to chew, but no beef content to add any beef flavor. It was served on a chibatta, some sloppy mayo stuff and a large piece of cheese, all of which overpowered the palette. Salmon poke bowl was nicely presented in a deconstructed manner, but the rice was undercooked/ crunchy, and the salmon was not sushi grade- it eas laden with fat strands, making it spit-out non chewable. The salad with grilled salmon was tasty, but fairly generic, and only 3oz of fish for $26. The fish and chips was generic too, with a ton of batter, overpowering any chance of tasting to cod. The Reuben was the winner at the table, nicely done. The small plates/appetizers were okay, with the French fries being winners. The fried mushrooms came out crisp, and the batter was tasty- the mushrooms seemed to be pounded flat before frying, and so there was no mushroom taste, just batter. Likely won't be back, was a 45 minute drive/ an hour and a half round trip... for pricey sub-par food... that should have been easy to make well. read more

Stopped in for a meal after a job in town. I asked our server Adriana what was good and she was very helpful and suggested her favorite along with a good seller. Our food came out hot and tasty. This restaurant is ELITE. The chef behind these incredible dishes is putting out Michelin Star level food. We got a reservation on a Tuesday night and we had an incredible experience. The decor is beautiful and whoever designed this restaurant put in a lot of thought and attention to detail. Our waitress was very nice and helpful. The food here is amazing. We ordered the fried mushrooms, corn fritters, bacon wrapped cod, salmon, fire roasted vegetables, gnocchi, peach gallette, fried doughnuts, and the Elvis cheesecake. I couldn't believe the quality of ingredients, skill in execution of the dishes, robust flavors, and the attention to detail paid both in the dishes and also in the aesthetic of the restaurant. We took our time to enjoy our meal and even wandered outside and sat by a peaceful fireplace before diving into our desert. I was also pleasantly surprised by our bill. Food is amazing! Silas is a gem! The menu bar to dessert is truly a creative sensation! The staff is well trained and responded to all questions. Sara took excellent care of us and would suggest you ask for her. They are truly a destination restaurant located in the heart of Versailles, Ohio in the Hotel. The attention to detail, fixture, tableware, lighting and artwork shows the care that went into this concept. Menu changes often. They are a farm to table concept with the majority of items being sourced local. The bar staff and selection of mixed drinks and special spirits and wines top drawer. This is a fantastic restaurant set inside an impeccable hotel (Hotel Versailles). Every detail is thoughtful and welcoming yet high-end and exquisitely appointed. From the moment we walked in the door the staff made us feel valued and so welcomed! Though only open for two weeks service ran smoothly and if there were any hiccups they certainly weren't apparent to the guests. The menu offerings are really varied with items that will please both those with very refined tastes as well as those who prefer more mainstream choices. The ingredients were of the highest quality and perfectly cooked. We were a large party and everyone raved about their meals from appetizers through dessert. Despite the quality and opulent surroundings we also felt the prices were not out of line for such an excellent dining experience. And to add to our delight. Every plate was beautiful to look at. Many pics were taken! There just aren't many restaurants of this quality outside of major cities. We're very fortunate to live close enough to return again and again! read more
