I've been here numerous times over the years but not so much the past few years. I had a delivery in Greenville so I stopped for lunch. (It's only open from 9-3.) I had the turkey Reuben with a side of pea salad. The Reuben was on a light rye with turkey, sauerkraut and a bunch of 1000 island dressing. The pea salad had peas, bacon, red onion and pasta shells. Very interesting atmosphere with lots of antiques and similar flat hanging from the ceiling and walls. My sandwich was made up fresh and the macaroni salad was plenty tasty. Even had a piece of carrot cake for a belated desert. Service was also quick and friendly and my food was brought to my table in short order. read more

Wow!!! Holy home made like your Grandma cooked it place. Broccoli salad, ham salad, cucumber dill salad, probably 20 choices and you can get a 2-sample or 3-sample platter. I tried red beans and rice, loaded potato salad and the apple broccoli salad. Flavored well, unique and complex salads. Came with bread that was soft and this lunch warmed my homesick heart. My dad got a HUGE BLT with a ton of bacon and my mom got a chicken sandwich that looked so good. The service was excellent and the vibe is really chill. Definitely will be back. It is a neat place in downtown with plenty of parking around. The salads they make are very good and there is a lot of variety to choose from. I was very disappointed though in their Ruben which was today's special. They made it like a panini and they used white bread instead of rye. No dressing, very little meat and barely any kraut. You can get three times the sandwich at Arby's for half the cost of this one. I like supporting local businesses but I don't like overpaying for poor quality food. In the area for the history and needed a place for lunch. This place had good reviews and vegetarian options, so we gave it a try. You order at a counter in the back with plenty of salad choices. Hot sandwiches will be brought out to you and cold ones fixed immediately. All sandwiches come with a salad or soup and cookie or chips. Wife had egg salad with potato soup. I had the black bean burger with cucumbers, tomatoes, and onion salad. We also tried a slice a cheesecake, which was good. The love remains strong. The spinach sundried tomato fettuccine salad, BLT salad and potato soup are just as tasty as I remembered. During this particular visit the entire restaurant was decorated from top to bottom with Christmas lights. The space is typically somewhat dark so this was a welcome change. This is definitely one of our top three favorite spots to grab lunch when in Greenville, Ohio. Note that the set up is cafeteria style home and you can build your plate as you see all the options. My particular meal cost $6.75 for two side salads and a cup of soup. They also have a case full with desserts by the slice, sandwiches made to order, and several offerings for catering and large orders of their popular salads. read more

I'd give ten stars if I could! This place was amazing. My husband and I were passing thru town and I looked up restaurants on Yelp.........this place had so many good reviews we decided it was the place for us and it was amazing! I got the Debbie's Orange Crush and pesto salad. The sandwich was a hot sandwich ........turkey, swiss, coleslaw, and orange marmalade on a hoagie bun. It was so tasty, as was the pesto salad. The only thing that would have made the sandwich just a little bit better was if the coleslaw wasn't quite so juicy...........I ended up getting coleslaw juice all over the place, but it was just so darn tasty. There are all sorts of sandwiches to choose from and even more salads. The sandwiches are big and the salad was not skimpy in any way. You also get a bag of chips or a cookie. Prices are great too.....I got all of that for less than nine bucks. Service was excellent and very friendly. I sure do wish we lived closer! read more

Scanning the local flavor, I seriously didn't expect to see a bunch of reviews from fellow Indy area Yelpers (several who grew up just over the state line). If it is good enough for Brittany S (Indy CM) then I am all in. What a great interior...eclectic, old school downtown central locale, and huge inside. I love small town revival places like this...it just feels right, you know? Taking an old five and dime and making a deli out of it...awesome. But is way more than just a cafe...part wine and beer store, old school market with knick knacks, etc. The tomato basil soup was worth the visit alone. Absolutely sensational. The pasta salad was also great, beautiful presentation with a nice slice of bread. There were at least a dozen different types of salads at the counter. I got the BLT and it was pretty amazing. They make their own garlic mayo to go on the sandwich and the bread was delicious. You get your choice of soup or salad to go with it, and you also get your choice of chips or a cookie. Plenty of food! Sandwiches and wraps take up most of the menu, the salads are in a case for you to check out. They have a large selection of bottled craft beer and wine. My favorite place to eat lunch downtown Greenville. Even when the line is long you will never have a hard time finding a place to sit. You need to go through the line and order your meal. They have an exhaustive selection of salads and a great number of sandwiches. My favorite is the Harry Chicken! The girls will give your salad to take with you and deliver your sandwich to your table. I don't know how they do it, but they always find you. I eat here a lot and I've only been missed once. You never have to wait long for your food. This is also a very nice place to rent for events. They do a wonderful job catering and make you and your guests feel welcome. Great homemade salads. Got the three salad sampler (strawberry spinach / tuna salad) and substituted the third for cheese potato soup. The food was fresh, delicious and cheap! As for the ambiance, I saw people sipping Pellegrino and chatting almost like a Paris cafe. The building is awesome - cool tin ceiling and historic flair - definitely love the feel. I'm from Cincinnati and was traveling for work, but the nice downtown area of Greenville really impressed me. I love this place. Great owners,workers, and food. I always get the same thing. Salami wami, a salami sandwich with two cheeses and Italian dressing and I always get wheat bread. My 90 year old aunt said she wanted a reuben and I was determined to find her one. She's originally from New York City so she knows good deli... she was skeptical to say the least!
