During checkout, I entered my phone number for the rewards/discount program while my items were being scanned. I believed it had gone through, but before paying I noticed the expected discounts weren't reflected in the total. When I asked the cashier, Myla (#0130), whether my number had been applied, she wasn't able to clearly explain whether it had gone through or what could be done. I was ultimately told the transaction would have to be completely redone to apply the discounts. I understand that there may be a store policy or system limitation, and I also recognize that I should have confirmed everything before paying. However, I think additional training on the rewards system and checkout procedures would be helpful. Cashiers should ideally be able to confirm whether a customer's number was successfully entered and clearly explain the options if there is an issue. This isn't meant as a personal criticism of the cashier or the store. We all have things to learn. I genuinely like Grocery Outlet and the value it provides, and I hope this feedback can be used as a learning opportunity to make checkout smoother for both employees and customers.

More concerning, I personally witnessed what appeared to be a rat and roaches inside the store. On one occasion, I saw roaches in the chip aisle near the office area. Seeing pests in a grocery store is extremely concerning, particularly because food products are being stored and sold nearby. Unfortunately, my interactions with some employees have also been disappointing. In particular, I have had several unpleasant experiences with an employee named Veronica. On one occasion, I was simply shopping and attempting to get my groceries when I was met with an unnecessary attitude before I had even said anything. Based on my personal interactions, I have found her to be consistently rude and unwelcoming. I have also observed what I felt was noticeably different treatment toward certain customers, which came across as biased and unprofessional to me. I also observed what appeared to be the store owner bringing a dog inside the grocery store. Unless the animal is a legitimate service animal and is permitted under applicable health regulations, I believe allowing animals in an area where food is being sold raises legitimate sanitation and food-safety concerns. Another serious concern I personally witnessed was meat being removed from a freezer and left outside near the back door to thaw before being brought back inside for display. From what I observed, it appeared that the meat was being presented as fresh afterward. This raised significant concerns for me regarding proper food-storage and temperature-control practices and whether appropriate food-safety procedures were being followed. Overall, these experiences have left me uncomfortable shopping at this location. A grocery store should maintain high standards for cleanliness, food safety, customer service, and professionalism. Based on what I personally witnessed, I would encourage management to address these concerns, particularly the apparent pest and sanitation issues. I personally would not recommend this location based on my experiences.

On Sunday, my father was approached by the manager, Vanessa, and told that he was no longer welcome at the store and that if he returned, he could be reported for trespassing. What is extremely concerning is that no one would provide him with a reason. Vanessa indicated that she was simply relaying the message. The security guard did not know why my father was being banned, and even a cashier who regularly sees him shopping at this location appeared surprised by the situation. My father later called the store seeking an explanation and still was not given a reason. This is very troubling to our family. My father is an elderly Hispanic man and a longtime paying customer. When someone is suddenly banned from a business without being told what they allegedly did wrong, it raises serious concerns about whether they are being treated fairly and respectfully. We are not asking for special treatment. We are simply asking Superior Grocers to explain why my father has been prohibited from entering a store he has regularly patronized for years. If there was an incident or legitimate reason for this decision, the company should be transparent and provide that information.
