My husband and I visited Sunday around noon which was pretty busy, we didn't mind waiting. Our waitress was very nice, didn't catch her name but had beautiful reddish/ pink and black hair. We were enjoying lunch, I finished so I decided to get a head start and pay. My husband was still drinking his coffee when maybe a party of 6 arrived and one of the waitresses with blonde hair tattoo below her center neck got onto the young lady sitting people then came to our table slamming the tortilla container off the table and the sugar back in its place. I just looked at my husband he finished and we left. Im sure other guest saw her actions. Aside from this you can hear the waitresses shouting for things if you sit by the tables near registers. ( Management can review footage if needed) We sat by the restrooms. We paid $45.00 for a huevo ranchero plate with fajita and an enchilada plate, Tea, coffee and chips, a to go box and cup. Despite the food being good, We won't be back due to this experience.

Had Breakfast with fcken Cockroaches in my eggs, they charged me...wanted to make it over again...u kidding me ,how GROSS...NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN

Receipt for our lunch where busboy stole the $15 cash we left for a tip.

Food was great as usual. Service was excellent, $63.50 for our lunch for a group of 5, left $15 cash on the table for her tip. I went to Pay line and saw a male busboy on the side where the $15 cash was( a $10 and a $5) and a female busgirl helping him with the cleanup. The waitress then came and asked if we left a tip and i responded yes, $15 and I could id the thieves. No time for strangers to snag it as we were in back corner. I told her I could identify them but they didn't want me to, that they were going to ask them. Terrible way to have a visitor from Louisiana see a southside San Antonio restaurant see that thieves work here. My sister ended up giving the waitress another $10 and I gave her another $5. But it surely ruined my lunch and me being a fan of that restaurant. I will not be back. Hand the cash to your waitress.

Drove from Killeen to San Antonio for this place. If you go there you will not be disappointed. Awesome service and great food came down here for some Tripa Tacos ended up with more lol.

I've been going to El Sol since I was 15, 27 now. I've always been a huge fan of their tacos! Their carne guisada, potato and egg and bean and cheese are the bomb.com! The reason I only give it four stars is because of the service. It's not the best and it's partly because they are always busy. So don't expect to interact with your server much. Tip: order half sweet and half freshly squeezed lemonade for your drink, it's the perfect refreshing drink on a hot day!

This place is not much to look at but the food is amazing. The best flour tortillas and great lunch specials

Great food. Exactly what I wanted. The green salsa was perfect. The staff was friendly. The prices were great. The plates were big.

We ordered the half chicken ($11), and I was honestly surprised by how juicy and moist it still was inside. The outside had a wonderful smoky charcoal flavor, and the marinade was flavorful all the way through. It also came with rice, corn tortillas, red and green salsa, grilled jalapeño, lime, and grilled onion, so it was a really filling meal for the price. We also tried the Bean Burger ($9.79), which was a fun combination of a beef patty, refried beans, cheese, chipotle sauce, and pico de gallo. I enjoyed it, although I personally would have loved a thicker layer of beans. The green salsa was SO good that I ended up buying an extra container for about $5 to take home. The restaurant itself is very casual and no-frills, with a big charcoal grill that really adds to the atmosphere--you can see and smell the chicken cooking. It feels much more like a local neighborhood spot than a polished tourist restaurant. Service was also very friendly and attentive. Even though we arrived late, we never felt rushed, and our server checked on us several times to make sure we had everything we needed. I would absolutely come back for the chicken and green salsa.

The green sauce is my favorite so far of all the pollo asadas places I have tried so far in San Antonio area. The beef fajitas were another favorite. The chorizo and ranchero sauce really made it stand out. The Mexican street corn on the side might have been even better. That stuff is seriously addicting like crack. I could have eaten a bowl of it by itself. Definitely a place I'd come back to.

Now listen I enjoy a good mood, but this setting went a little past moody. It was DARK dark. They could definitely bump those lights up about two settings and still keep all the ambiance. lol Thankfully, the food and service needed no adjustments. Our waiter Stephen was really nice, attentive and quick throughout our visit. Thanks for taking good care of our table! We tried the paella and steak fajitas, and everything came out nice and hot. Both were enjoyable, but we also need to talk about those spicy mango and watermelon margaritas because the drinks definitely DELIVERED. Flavor was there, and so was the pour. Overall, we had a good experience. Nice River Walk location, hot and tasty food, great drinks and friendly service. Just turn those lights up enough for me to admire the meal before I eat it.
