Their carne guisada is good. So are their country sausage tacos and the barbacoa tacos aren't very greasy. And they included onions and cilantro at a small price of just 30 cents each. And their tortillas are fresh,good and homemade too. I ordered my food to go and service was attentive and prompt. read more

This is a great place for some great tasting Mexican comida for la raza. It has a nice ambiente and bustling environment. I like how you stand in line to order and then get your food when they call your number. I had the cheese enchiladas with onions on top and they were so good! I love Panchitos! Everything you order is amazing, but I will never eat here again. The lady taking our order fake blond hair red lipstick made me never want to take my family here ever again. She said to my husband I know you are here with your wife and kid but I thing you are really handsome and would like to go out, but let's keep it on downlow since your wife is over there.I saw her put a finger over her lips and point at me. My husband felt guilty and told me as soon as we entered the car. We told management. So upsetting that I can't even go to my favorite restaurant anymore. read more

Panchito's you are A-OK with me. When work sends me to this part of town, I know I can rely on Panchito's to supply me with a quick, cheap, and filling lunch that'll see me through til it's time to punch-out. Walk in and make your way to the order line/queue. Above the order counter you'll find their menu, as well as posters showing various breakfast and lunch value meals too (as well as rotating daily lunch specials). Once it's your turn, step up to the counter to place your order. They supply you with a number to take to your table, your drink(s), and chips if you decide to want a basket. Find your seat and after a short wait they bring your order to you via the number you received at the register. If you opted to call ahead for a to-go order they have a separate side door for those phone-in customers. My go-to items are the cheese enchiladas, add onions or breakfast tacos. Their breakfast tacos are available weekdays until noon and all day Sat/Sun. I am a big fan of their papa rancheras, potato/egg/cheese taco, and their migas tacos with avocado added. The tacos are big, fluffy, and stuffed full. Their tortillas are excellent as well, leaving a light dusting of flour on anything they touch. Short, sweet, and easy! Good food at a decent cost keeps Panchito's reliable and keeps me gracing their doors when I'm in the neighborhood. read more

I've been coming here for years and I've never had any issues but lately I've been getting rude customer service; the Togo area is small and cramped especially during lunch and only one cashier. You walk in and stand there with no sign pointing to start a line. I almost fought some lady because I apparently 'didn't stand in line' when clearly was standing there first. Then, I picked up my order and the cashier left it in the middle of the counter and walked off? Didn't even bother handing it to me or say anything else. Worse customer service ever. read more

I recommend Panchito's Restaurant very good food fresh and hot! It is a self serve restaurant you stand in line and place your order stand in line to to fill your own drinks. They give you a buzzer for when your order is ready for you to get. It's clean nice and quiet somewhat busy Mexican restaurant. They pick up as someone leaves the table. TYPICAL TEX-MEX RESTAURANT! This restaurant is located on the West side of town. Unfortunately this side of town is very crime ridden and not much is located out here. When I used to work on this side, I frequented Panchito's! My usual order consisted of either the chicken enchilada plate or the beef fajita plate. All plates come with rice, beans, lettuce and tomatoes. The food has flavor but it's nothing amazing or memorable. It's literally the only decent Tex-Mex food place in the area. I've passed by this restaurant numerous times and had never stopped. I finally ate here on a Sunday expecting great food. I ordered their chilaquiles and was disappointed. I guess I'm used to a different dish. I think they used American cheese. Maybe the tacos are better. The price is good. I was also happy that they had homemade corn tortillas. I wouldn't recommend you go out of your way to eat here. read more

This restaurant my friends is a westside gem. We always come for breakfast and I always get a chilaquiles taco and a big red. The tacos are always overflowing with a good amount to make enough for another taco. This place is open for lunch as well, so try the lunch specials as well. Some of the best tacos we've had anywhere. The tortillas were soft and fluffy. Picadillo was flavorful. Carne guisada was extremely tender. Country sausage with gravy was amazing. Barbacoa was very meaty. Beef fajitas were tender. We would definitely come back. read more

We came here for a group gathering, they had a big menu with so many items to choose from. I got the enchiladas, which is a Monday special. The enchiladas were great but the rice and beans were dry and with no flavor. The other people enjoyed and some stated the same for the rice and beans. The people were very nice and continuously checking on us. The tortillas were very good. Hopefully next time I come the beans and rice are good. read more

It was my first time trying it here. I've heard the food was reasonably priced and the food was delicious. The customer service was decent. The cashier was nice. Everything was okay so far. Until, I sat down and saw RAT droppings on the windowsill. That is just one area. I can imagine the rest of the restaurant. It would be great if they could clean a little more . We've been coming to this place forever. The food is usually good and the prices are very affordable. Some days the food is off as is the service and waiting time for food and other days they are spot on. So it's kind of a gamble when we go in as to whether it will be a good experience or not. As for the food, I love anything that has cheese on it. They use that good tasting, melty cheese here. Carne guisada is usually great--savory and tender, but I've had it a few times were it wasn't. The enchiladas are tasty as well. They run a monthly plate special which usually consists of a plate with two or three varieties of food offerings, rice, beans, tortillas and a tea for $6.95. They also have breakfast and lunch combos. As with the food, the customer service can be a gamble as well. Some days they are quickly taking orders and smiling. While other days they are carrying on a conversation in between taking orders and showing off pictures on their phones. The bussers are quick and efficient and have starting offering to refill our drinks and bring our orders when our pagers go off. The dining area is large and there's often a bustling crowd, but were always to get a table as people move through quickly. The parking lot is huge and there's an overflow parking lot across the stree as well. Overall, it's quick and affordable and we meet my mom for lunch here as its less than 5 minutes away from where she works, so we'll be back soon, flipping our coin in the parking lot, hoping its a spot on day. read more

As my wife constantly says, I'm a creature of habit. I don't live in San Antonio, but for the last several years on the way home from our yearly camping trip (creature of habit, remember?) we've stopped at Panchito's for lunch. This is after a long camping trip with few hot meals. My son and his buddies love the food here, and so do I. They have a huge selection of breakfast and lunch items. Best of all, the prices are very reasonable. Our stop to Panchito's has become one of the highlights of our trip. If you enjoy Tex-Mex comfort food like cheese enchiladas and breakfast tacos, you can't go wrong with this place. read more

I love transportation. Mi Tierra was a pretty great looking place. Plenty of space, a nice outside waiting area, plus a bakery. I have never been to a place with a bakery that I didn't like. It seemed like a very authentic place, and that's coming from a resident of Michigan. A resident that eats Taco Bell. A resident who eats Taco Bell and think's THAT'S authentic Mexican. The first thing I noticed was that this place did not seem to serve burritos. Not a marker really for me, but it was something I've never came across before. I also thought that you were stuck ordering enchiladas or tacos in a meal type of setting. Upon further questioning, you can order a la cart. That was a relief. I ended up ordering the enchiladas Verdes because sometimes I ignore my color palate and go for green. And because I can't just stop eating one form of meat, cheese, and sauce, I ordered a taco. Actually, I just ordered a taco because I wanted a dryer enchilada. Or did I order the enchiladas because I wanted a wetter taco...I don't know anymore. Anywho, I ground beef, American style taco. Now, I've always been a big fan of chips and salsa. Some salsa hits, some miss. Some salsa is pureed and is basically red water. Some salsa is just a full tomato. I like my salsa like I like my orange juice. With extra calcium. Wait. Mild pulp. That's it. This salsa pretty much hit those notes. Had good flavor and a little spice left to linger. The main course came out and everything looked delicious. Green enchiladas looked exactly like I expected. However, it took me a moment to realize I was not looking at a burrito...but instead, my taco. It was served a peculiar way. wrapped, seam down, with a little bit of the meat on top, pico and lettuce on the outside, next to it. It was a burrito peacocking as a taco. We started…read morewith the Pan Fila Conchota combo that is a combination of the two that is 1/2 gallon of hot chocolate made using a base of Abuelitas with additional cinnamon, and cocoa along with something special. It was delicious! The concha was soft, buttery and flaky, with just the right sweetness. We took home the majority of it and it stayed nice and soft instead of turning hard like so many others. We decided to try several appetizers to go along with our concha to get a wider taste of their food than we would by just ordering a couple entrees. Let me tell you, this was a great idea! We ordered the Tosti-Ceviche Verde, Panela Asado, Mexican Street Corn, and their Spicy Bean Dip. The Ceviche Verde was excellent, the freshness of the fish and shrimp was wonderful with the chipotle mayo and avocado. We chose to have it on the salsa Verde Tostitos and it was all great combination. The Panelo Asado was a completely new dish for us and was extremely good with a savory flavor from the salsa Tlaquepaque that mixed well with the Panela cheese. Their tortillas though not made in house, are made for them and taste like mom made them. The Mexican Street Corn was great and had the perfect bit of char taste from the corn. It was creamy and flavorful, we did think it could use just a tad more lime juice though. The Spicy Bean Dip was very good. You can't go wrong with Oaxaca, Chorizo, and pieces of pork mixed with some mildly spicy beans. Our server was fantastic. She had great recommendations for us, and was quick with checking on our drinks and generally helping us throughout our dinner. The food was prepared quickly, was hot, tasteful and refreshing. We definitely will be going back, and recommend Pan Fila to all of you.
