We had a wonderful experience here! The environment is cozy, and you are greeted with smiling faces upon entering. We came for lunch. We were seating and taken care of by a very sweet lady. My husband is an enchilada lover, and he absolutely enjoyed every bit of the cheese enchiladas. I had the puffy taco plate and they were perfect! Tried Linda's today and the experience was not enjoyable. The problem was not the customer service or ambiance; it was the quality of the food. I ordered their enchilada plate and a bean cheese & bacon taco. The taco was okay in and of itself. However the enchilada plate was almost unpalatable. First off, the rice was soggy and lacked flavor. The beans were bland but their consistency was okay. The enchiladas probably would've been fine, but the gravy they top it with is cheap and watery. It almost ruins the plate and gives everything an unfavorable slimy texture. The enchiladas were mushy. It was nauseating at times to eat. I also added beef to my enchiladas and it tasted very cheap and frozen. It was comparable to school lunch. If this place had better quality food, I would most definitely return. the atmosphere was very nice and it was actually very welcoming and comforting. I don't know how to explain it but it's like your at your relatives place getting served the most nostalgic childhood foods you would eat as a kid. The food in this place is amazing. The Chilaquiles are really good and tasty. Pretty authentic Mexican Chilaquiles if you aske me. I also love that they serve them with hand made corn tortillas. So I finally asked why the upcharge on the fideo special and the answer was cause i am taking it to go lol. I know they charge 25 cents for a container but a whole dollar more for take out. I finally know how they stay in bizness. ! they are the only place close by for the students of Lanier, 2 they rip you of with all the service charges. A dollar more for take out plus 55 more cents if you use your debit card. $1.55 more for a service charge come on. Also the dollar more for take out is not posted anywhere on the board. Fideo loca is the only good meal there unless you like that nacho cheese on your meal. This will be my last post on this sorry place. read more

Visited Linda's after see a video last night.. they surpass what the video showed. I had the Pork Chop Plate, the chops were big and thick perfectly seasoned. The customer service was on point, attentive, friendly really a welcoming experience. This a family business, owners were waiting tables , constantly checking on customers to ensure everyone was enjoying their menu. Definitely highly recommend! Came here for a quick lunch. They have some great lunch specials during the week. I had Perla's plate, which came with 2 cheese enchiladas, a side of beef fajitas, rice, beans and of course two homemade corn tortillas. One friend ordered the quesadilla plate, and the other ordered cheese enchiladas. Everything I tried was pretty good. The tortillas were delicious and the service was fast and friendly. I picked up some bagged empanadas at the counter, and they were very fresh. Will definitely be checking this place out again. read more

There aren't many restaurants within walking distance from here which makes coming here the only option sometimes. Today's coffee tasted like swamp water but improved with sugar. Let me tell you a little story of how I ended up having huevos rancheros pork chops at this place.... My school had a health fair in the "barrio" or "the hood" as others may call it. I was checking people's blood sugar levels and everyone's sugar levels were through the mutha--- roof and I asked everyone what they ate and they all said pork chops! Now I was like...hmm you don't hear that everyday! So I had one of the chola aunties take me outside and show me where the mysterious pork chops were coming from....and it was Linda's! It's notch above your average hole in the wall joint in the sense it had plenty of sitting area and the people are extremely good about customer service. I got a history lesson while my food was being cooked. Mad points for that one! The pork chops were a little thin but lived upto the reputation! The eggs with the rancheros sauce was the bizzzommbb!! They make their tortillas in house and were excellent. The fried potatoes and beans hit the spot. I threw all that shit in the tortilla and went to work! The hot sauce sitting at the table doesnt look intimidating but that mofo is spicccyyyy! I tried my friend's beef chalupa....and proceeded to order one for myself! I want to live in a world where there are crispy chalupas like that to my left and to my right! This is THE place for cheap and authentic mexican food in San Antonio. read more

Let me tell you, I have eaten tacos next to a smelly ditch in the middle of Mexico. I've also eaten worms, scorpions, blood tacos....nothing has made me queasy until I tasted the food from this establishment. I went on a Monday lunch. Ordered the Carne Asada plate. What came out was horrendous. The rice was 50% oil. The chopped up 'carne asada' was rubbery, and tasted of old grease. Ended up eating the refried beans, lettuce and tomato instead. They did have some very home-made looking tortillas which were okay. I used those to eat the beans. Then ate the rest of the tortillas with salsa just because I was so hungry. Linda's is a homey, kind place to get your breakfast taco fix - here's why: I walked into Linda's with a group of fourteen, and we were graciously accommodated. Our total came out to roughly $52 (with tip) for many breakfast tacos, chips and guacamole, and drinks. The waitress knew we were about to take a long stroll outside (this was August, I should say) so she gave us 32oz to-go waters as we left, which was very thoughtful. Neither one of us is really a fan of all the overpriced tourist restaurants near campus so we resolved to find some better options. Linda's is great - the décor is cozy and reminds me of the restaurants I grew up near. The service is friendly and prompt. So far, so good. Moved in up the road and tried this spot for the first time -it's one of the best breakfasts I've had. First thing to catch my attention was the low prices. I ordered the migas plate and my husband had a few different breakfast tacos. It was all amazing. Threw me off guard! He's from Mexico and I grew up on the south side, we're both pretty picky about the Tex-Mex food we eat. This has a unique style and is absolutely delicious.
