I've been a fan since day 1 and am even more of a fan now as I was 2 and a half years ago when I wrote my first review. The beer keeps getting better. They have added a huge line up to accompany their base selection. I am a fan of their double IPA Hop Tanker. They brew a second DIPA that is a little more malt-forward, Two 5 Left. The imperial stout Standard Crude is solid. They're even starting to do some barrel aging! The tap room is still small and mostly is standing room, but they have the space in the back and are working on expanding and relocating the tasting room. While there, sign up on the iPad mini for the app Belly. You can earn free rewards just by checking in to the app while you're there. Oh, they also bottle and distribute their beer now too! I can't wait to see what else they come up with in the next couple of years. I only see great success coming their way. read more

Beers on tap brewed steps away. Pretty nice and prices are awesome! It's a small cozy tasting room with a nice selection of craft beers on tap. My friend and I started with a tasting. We got the Mosaic (rotational beer), Blue House IPA, and White Dog IPA. The Mosaic was my favorite - nice clean finish. The Blue House IPA had a hoppy finish, so it was too bitter for my liking (I can see why others may like this one). The White Dog IPA also had a hoppy finish, but not as strong as the Blue Dog. In any event, all three were quite nice and a great value for the price. From the tasting, I ordered the Mosaic on pint and finished with the Blue House Citra Pale on pint. The Blue House Citra was a nice way to finish the evening. It was lighter, hints of orange/lemon, and ended with a sweet tone. Parking can be an issue. Park on Grand then walk the two blocks. It's not bad, and a great way to walk off those calories. read more

El Segundo Brewing is located in the hop-ping part of town on Main St. in an underground lair. If you're an IPA drinker, you will have no shortage of options here, but if you aren't (like me) your options are limited. I did enjoy their crisp and refreshing blonde ale, though. Can get pretty busy on Friday/Saturday nights, and therefore rather cramped with limited seating, but there are enough beer-tenders to keep the suds flowing. Prices are pretty fair given the fresh quality. Lively atmosphere with good company - if you like drinking fresh pours in tap rooms, check it out! read more

Came here a few times a year ago and I have to say, they have upped their game. I would have probably rated them a 3 previously, but this is now one of my favorite breweries in the area. Previously they only had a handful of selections and their taproom was small and claustrophobic. Just came back here for a private event and I have to say, I'm gonna get a growler. They have a killer selection of IPA's and their taproom is nice and spacious now. Glad I made it back here cause I probably would have just skipped it for Three Weavers and Strand or gone across the way to Rock n Brews. What did I try on my most recent visit? Mayberry IPA: Awesome floral hop profile. This was my favorite IPA of the ones that I tried. Hammerland DIPA: Another really good IPA. This one will sneak up on you at 8.6% ABV. Tasty though. Hop Plunge: This one was actually a little more mellow since it probably has more of a mix of hops. Pretty smooth and mellow compared to the other 2, but still great character. If only this place was closer to my house. I found my way here at the suggestion of a friend who lives down the street - LUCKY GUY! The beer list is long and accomplished. They have a few televisions around the area which allows for sports viewing, on this night we watched the Warriors beat the Spurs. If you like IPA beers, this place will connect with your taste buds. High praise for their Mayberry, White Dog, and Broken Skull IPAs - DELICIOUS! Because of the food and beverage license situation (cost), there are no true food options, BUT, they do have food trucks and other options that pull up right outside. On my Thursday night visit I chatted with several friendly people, the crowd is certified chill, no attitude, just beer loving individuals. read more

Finally made my way to this spot, as I have been a fan of there beer and have tried pretty much anything they have put out in a store in my area here in Orange County. I was actually heading to a nearby restaurant and noticed where I parked their vans were parked all around so I knew I had to be close. Turns out I was right behind it so before I went to eat I popped in here. Pretty straightforward here. Head down the steps down a little hallway and you are in the tap room. They have TVs up around the tap room so you can catch any sporting even that might be on while you sip their delicious brew. They offer about 22 taps here, and what I like is most of the stuff (when I was there) was stuff I had not really seen bottled. They offer beer for all types of beer lovers. I just wish I lived closer to this spot. Good beer, good service how can you go wrong? If you are in the area and are looking for some great easy drinkable beer. Check this spot out. This was a really cool place that we visited last night on our tour of Downtown El Segundo. The entrance is a bit nondescript...you walk in and it looks like an office building with an open staircase going up and down. You enter the Brewing Company by going down the stairs and following the passage. It's really cool, because you end up basically inside of the brewery. There are pallets of Pilsner Malt stacked along the entrance, which is kind of cool because you get to see what goes into making craft beer. Resident craft beers include Citra Pale Ale, Station No. 1 Red Ale, Mayberry IPA, Steve Austin's Broken Skull IPA, and Nitro Hyperion Vanilla Stout. Seasonal craft beers include L.A. Gold, Unity (India Pale Ale), Seis del Segundo (Double India Pale Ale), Greencheek (Double IPA), Bursted (Single Hop Series), Two 5 Left DIPA (a Double India Pale Ale made with Simcoe, Citra, Cascade, and Chinook Hops), and Ka-Pau IPA (an India Pale Ale with Rakau and Cascade Hops). There are visiting beers that also debut here, like Hop Plunge (a Double India Pale Ale), Hammerland DIPA, and Power Plant TIBA (a Triple India Pale Ale with Simcoe, Citra, Amarillo, and Mosaic Hops). They even have barrel aged craft beers made in small batches, like the Standard Crude (2016), an Imperial Stout aged in Bourbon barrels and Old Jetty (2016), a Barleywine style Ale that's also aged in Bourbon barrels. We tried the Mayberry IPA and the Porto Pilsner. I've never had anything like it. I'm not a beer drinker, but I could definitely taste the difference between the two and the aftertaste was a bit enjoyable. The vibe is pretty cool. Of course there seemed to be a lot more men than women when I went, but everyone was super nice, especially the bartenders and even the owner. There's plenty of seating, though it seemed full for a Wednesday night...I can only imagine what Friday is like. I wish they offered more choices for snacks. Right now, they only offer roasted nuts (no pun intended, haha!), but hopefully one day they will have a kitchen and offer light appetizers. I get why they don't, as they are first and foremost a brew house. If you get hungry or need to eat before drinking, you'd have to go elsewhere along this area to eat and then come here, but I think it's totally worth it considering the vast array of choices that they offer. read more

What a great find! This place has everything you need if all you need is good beer. It's just across the street from Rock N Brews and a little unsuspecting. Parking depends on what time you go, just like anywhere off Main Street. The crowd and the bartenders were friendly. There were several football games on tv. There is a self-serve water station near the entrance. They have a massive chalkboard menu that lists each of the beers on tap. My favorite was the Clear AF IPA. It's a 7% beer, so not too crazy, but one was enough for me. It had the right amount of hoppiness to it, and I would definitely order it again. I also tried the Casa Azul Amber Ale. It was not my favorite, though I do like Amber Ales. My husband tried the Stone Cold Broken Skull IPA that is pretty heavily marketed by all the Steve Austin paraphernalia around the place. It was pretty solid, but my vote still goes to Clear AF for the win. read more

I remember this place being a small hole in the wall a couple years ago, but they've expanded into quite a remarkable spot. The selection was pretty good and the service was quick and helpful. This place has a nice hipster vibe to it with a bunch of different brews on tap. Tried a few of their beers, all of which were delicious. My only thing is there's not enough seating for the large crowds and there's one TV in the taproom that you can only see in certain areas. Otherwise, the decor and the vibe are major wins. Fun fact: There's a Steve Austin Broken Skull IPA which tastes very clean, especially for an IPA. According to the bartender, the owner is friends with Steve Austin, which is why there's also Steve Austin items sprinkled throughout. read more

Love this place. Sometimes I wish they had food, but I think if they did, the place would be a bit too small. Its kinda perfect for a small Brewery with great beer. When is crowded, service can be a bit slow, but that's because they take their time to explain and guide you, so I don't mind at all. Great place that I always visit while in LA. So down there for a wedding and I see this on Google Maps and man, I gotta try it. For some odd reason I thought they sold food!!! My mistake, its strictly only beer and there's some food trucks or something in the back? But there didn't look like there was a kitchen in site. But my buddy said they serve, Broken Skull IPA. Stone Cold Steve Austin beer! So like a nerd, I had to try it and it wasn't that bad. I'm usually not a fan of heavy IPA but this one was pretty crisp and it gave me a buzz (along with the 3 other drinks) and off to dinner rehearsals I went!. Anywho, its a small place, I thought it was be bigger because I though it was a restaurant. Is El Segundo kinda like Huntington? Kinda bro-ish because that's what it seemed like inside, but it took a lil while to get our drinks. But other than that, pretty standard beer bar. I'm no beer connoisseur, but I've come to really enjoy hanging out at breweries with good company. I had the tropical beer and the dual IPA. I did not enjoy the dual IPA. It was way too bitter and strong. The tropical one was definitely more refreshing. Bonus points because there was a food truck in the back and the bartender was really friendly! This a little gem in El Segundo with many different beers all with unique flavors and most importantly all are delicious! I suggest trying a bit of everything so you can find one that speaks to you. I took my non-beer loving family here and they even loved it. The IPAs were my favorite personally, but we had fun trying several different types. We did a sampler of beers and they were massive portions, so be careful if you are trying to drive after! Also, they don't seem to have food here regularly besides occasional food trucks. We came in hungry so that was a bit of a let down. Just be aware before and come for the amazing beer. read more

We got yelled at. Wow, been a taproom regular from the beginning so it pains me to write this rvw. So excited to support them post covid closing. Entry unmarked, many of us circling the building confused. We stepped over the velvet rope and wandered toward the bar upon being stopped. We kindly voiced our confusion and suggested an entrance sign as we saw another couple step away in confusion. Server, resident prick rudely said, " what are we tying to do here folks?" Um, request a table and enjoy your beer? Upon saying we're good and leaving he followed us to the alley and shouted, thanks for the tips"!. We were shocked as were the seated patrons. Our parting words were, "be nice". Not gonna frequent a place that yells at us! I would say this gentleman, and I use that term loosely, should not be interfacing with the public. You can try other breweries in the area but this is the one that you'll always come back to. The vibe is cool. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. But most of all the beer is delicious. My personal favorites are the Cerveza Fresca & the Mayberry IPA. Go relax and have a couple pops. read more

I came in search of Punch in the D, a very flavorful DIPA I had at Beer Belly, one of my LB favorites. It wasn't available, so the bartender suggested I have the Big Don. The names...they kill me. The beer was pretty good and big on the hops, ergo the moniker, I guess. To tell you the truth, I had imagined this place as a big, industrial warehouse-type affair, but it turned out to be a moderately sized industrial wine cellar type affair with casks that serve as tables bookended by bar stools. Huge beer brewing tanks serve as the major design element in this otherwise simple landscape. But, who cares? They make great beer. Better yet, they have fun naming them. The guys do, anyways. Word of caution: Don't come hungry! They don't sell chips or hand out peanuts here. They will allow you to bring your own grub or you can try one of the trendy eateries just across the street. El Segundo brewing is a place you wish you lived near to. Gosh. Did I really write that? Hmm - today we tried the Station: great with Bartz bbq on site.. not hoppy, but rich with a sweeter finish. Very tasty and damn that bbq kicks ass. He tried the Beach day: extremely refreshing and light - Ice cold.. hot day.. bomb! Really could have stayed for a few more but had to keep moving! I do think this is a great neighborhood hangout - nice big screen with the game on and areas to just sit and chat. Love it! read more

Solid brewery if you love IPAs. The majority of their lineup consists of them, but they do have some other options as well. I do love IPAs so this worked for me. Prices and selection are quite good, and they also offer tasters for a very reasonable price as well. I ended up paying $16 after tip for a full beer and 3 tasters. The only knock on them is that they don't serve food, but there seemed to be plenty of spots to grab something in the general area. read more

I have been coming to this brewery for 5 years now. They make some great West coast ipas, but if you are not into ipas they make saisons, lagers, pale ales, stouts and hazy ipas. The staff their is always friendly and knowledgeable if you were to ask questions about their different style brews. They do not serve on site, bit they are food trucks. The one thing my wife and I were surprised about was the woman's and men's restroom not having a changing station for our newborn. read more

Hidden gem! Love this place Thanks to boyfriend's roommate for introducing to us after going to that crappy place 'Purple Orchid' This place was much more worth it! If you are trying to look for this place, it is actually hidden downstairs of an office building. That is as much information I can give because I was a bit lost trying to follow the friend. Hidden underground basement kind of thing this place is. Try out their delicious beers by pints and chill by the tables or chairs. There is ONE television and usually the locals come here. There is no table service. It's pretty much get it from the beer bar and sit wherever you want. There are peanuts or sometimes even pretzels! Locals here are friendly! We met a few and we all had a really good time. We hope we get to bump into them again! TIP: There's bulletin near the T.V, which shows the what kind of beer they have for the day. It also shows the percentage of each! Yums. Pretty cool place to hang out when you want to get away from the big crowd. I love beer. Check that. I love good beer. Good hoppy, bitter, palate coating beer. El Segundo is all of these things. We'd had the Mayberry & blue house IPA elsewhere, but there's something about drinking it from the source that makes it taste that much better. The citra pale, two 5 left double, hop tanker double, and my favorite of them all, the power plant triple IPA were all amazing. Wish I could have taken a couple pints of the triple to go, but at 11.2%, I'd probably be hammered. The tasting room is pretty small. As you can imagine, the place is busy full of locals and beer affecianados. Get ready to get comfy. If you're claustrophobic, try to pick a time when no one's drinking beer. Oh wait, that time doesn't exist. You're screwed. We, however, don't mind getting cozy with strangers if beer like they serve is in our hands! Only thing they could do to make it legendary is to serve colder pints. Warm beer only works in England. Wait, that sucked. read more

This review is based on myself and my family's experience with the patrons (not the staff) however we felt that it should be shared just offer a different perspective on the experience that one can have at this establishment. When walking into the space, immediately we were subject to stares and glares (myself and my siblings are African American and my sister's husband is Latino). While standing in line to wait to get service at the counter, we could hear other patrons making comments with one (an older white gentleman who was sitting at a table with an associate) saying "Look at what just walked in here". Unfortunately, we all felt uncomfortable and immediately left the establishment. We understand that these comments, stares and facial exchanges were again, from the patrons and not from the staff (this due largely in part that we were some uncomfortable, that we left before really interacting with any staff members), but we wanted to share it in hopes that the business can work harder to establish a culture of inclusivity. I'm sure they have made attempts, however, tonight's experience shows that their are some areas of reflection. read more

If you like your beer hoppy and love IPAs then this place is for you. Nearly everything is an IPA variety with subtle taste variations. There was a vanilla stout and two reds but otherwise we tried six different IPAs and there were still more! The flight tasters are an outstanding four (yes, four) ounce pours, and Served in an equally massive tray of five at only $2-2.50 a pour. I've never seen flight pours this big! Vibe of the tasting room is cool -- young but not too young, cool but not hipster. There are TVs tuned to sports but they don't make it a sports bar atmo. I like how this brewery is located in the walkable el segundo downtown district so you can get a quick bite nearby easily. Tip: the women's bathroom does NOT LOCK. I got walked in on twice!
