El Rodeo Mexican Restaurant is the best Mexican fare in Maple Grove hands down. The food, margaritas, and staff tend to always be exceptional. I have never had a bad meal here. My go to recently has been the Taco Salad Fajita add Jalapenos. The menu is huge and everyone can find something they enjoy on this menu. I also love their quesadilla, Fajitas, Tacos, Flauta, taquitos, and so much more! The house margarita's are solid and often available for 2-1 on Happy Hour. Ask for other margaritas as they make really good ones. I am an on the rocks girl but you can grab it blended as well. The staff is outstanding, kind, and super helpful. This is the best customer serviced you will get in the area! My only gripe is the tortilla chips arnt my favorite...but they have some hot hot salsa that makes it better!!! read more

Ok food, ok service. Went on a Sunday evening recently & got a couple of combo plates. I ordered the chicken enchilada combo with rice & beans. The enchiladas didn't have a ton of flavor, even though they were covered in red sauce. The beans were flavorful, but that's about the only thing that was good. The rice was just your standard mexi-rice. Don't know that I'd choose this option again if I return. Our server, Alex, could've been a bit more attentive. We had to flag her down twice for water refills. She was nice & chatty when she did stop, but having to get her attention a couple times shouldn't have been necessary. read more

We know people who really like this place. We only have been here this once so... Of course I got a burrito, deluxe. My wife got the taco salad. Both were good. We finished her salad and took half of my meal home. This is the interesting part, the next day the burrito had almost no flavor. I have never had that happen before. I know things lose some flavor, I save things enough that I kind of know what to expect. So if I rate the burrito on the day served it might get a 3.5. But the next day only a 1. On the upside, this seems like a nice family place. Lots of locals there. And the service was good. On the less up side. The food was bland, at best. Contrary to a previous review, they do have a kids menu, that comes with rice and beans and it's around $5. I had a margarita that was a syrupy mix from a machine. Ick. El Rodeo is the best choice for Mexican fare in Maple Grove. They have happy hour running from 2-8 all week in which you can get $2 bottled beers, $3 tall taps, and best of all, 2-4-1s on the house margaritas! That's only $5.99 for two very good margs. The margs aren't as sweet as most places (this is a good thing for me) so I asked why and was told the secret ingredient. You'll have to go in and ask for yourself, because I'm not telling! The service is outstanding, as our server had basically the entire non-bar area on a fairly busy night and he didn't miss a thing. I think his name was Jorge if I remember correctly. That guy deserves some extra credit/$$. The food is phenomenal, with just the right amount of heat. Make sure to order the cheese dip (only $4) to go with your freebie chips and salsa. So good! My wife and I have been several times and keep returning because the prices are hard to beat for the quality and service and the menu is quite large so it's going to take some time to try everything that sounds delicious. Rice was overcooked and flavorless, our whole table was also charged a "gratuity" fee of almost $20 when we were not going to tip due to bad customer service.
