Craft House At Corque was the perfect place for an early lunch for my family of four…read more This is a really nice restaurant with natural potted plants that hang from the ceiling, soft and natural lighting throughout, and a beautiful classy bar. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. She gave us a couple of recommendations off the menu and boy, she was not wrong. My kiddos ordered their own pizzas, both were so delicious. The cheese on the pepperoni, wow! The mushrooms on the other, delish! Both straight out of the oven, baked perfectly. The crust had the ideal crunch on the outside and soft baked texture of the dough on the inside. I recommend either one of these pizzas..delicious! I ordered the Prime Rib Dip...amazing! The flavors- you taste it all! The prime rib just melts in your mouth, this was absolutely delicious. This dish comes with fries which were well seasoned and hot. I highly recommend. My husband ordered a breakfast dish that came with a side of bacon and house potatoes. Fries were perfectly seasoned and golden crisp on the outside with a nice soft texture on the inside. So good. Restaurant gets busy especially in the evening. If you want to dine alfresco, they offer patio seating with a bonus of live music...The ambiance in the patio is amazing, have your camera on standby. If you're visiting the area, this is a really nice spot. I highly recommend. Enjoy!

Our server Hally greeted us the moment we sat down. I asked her for an appetizer recommendation and she immediately named three with no hesitation, no hedging, no "everything's good here." We landed on the calamari and the Truffle Gnocchi, and that gnocchi was the surprise of the night. Not a lot of places do gnocchi at all, much less one built this well. Spinach dumplings, grilled artichokes, and a black truffle cream sauce that stayed balanced instead of heavy. Exquisite is not close. We both ordered the filet mignon. Perfectly cooked and tender enough to cut with a fork. Hally checked on us the whole night without ever being pushy or hovering. She was warm, welcoming, and completely professional; the kind of server who clearly takes pride in her work and is a real asset to the ownership team. This meal alone would bring us back to Solvang.

Kudos to the restaurant for addressing many of the issues we experienced previously! We started with the CAESAR SALAD, added chicken, and asked for it extra chopped. It was excellent. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and we especially enjoyed the added sunflower seeds, which gave the salad a nice texture and something a little different. The PARKER HOUSE ROLLS were fine, although we still feel that for $11, the serving should include more than two rolls. The PAN SEARED SCALLOPS were absolutely delicious--nicely seared and served with a corn salad/pudding that complemented them beautifully. The STUFFED BAKED POTATO was another standout. It was almost like a unique take on a twice-baked potato, with a wonderfully crispy skin and a generous amount of bacon and baked cheddar. Sour cream and butter were served alongside it. We've never had a baked potato prepared quite this way, and it was absolutely delicious. The STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING was the finishing touch. It was good, although we would have loved a little more caramel sauce. We also really enjoyed the ambiance. We sat in a comfortable booth with a nice view toward the front of the restaurant. Our booth had some interesting artwork with an old-man-of-the-sea feel, along with fishing lures and other nautical touches. The darker, moodier feel of the booth and the warm lighting gave the space a lot of character and made it a really comfortable place to settle in for dinner. Overall, the food was excellent, the service was fantastic, and we were very impressed by how much our experience improved from our first visit. It's always nice to see a restaurant respond to issues and get things right. We will definitely be back!

Service is friendly, the patio is nice, food is pretty good, bar is mid. Artichoke: have had it a couple times, always slightly undercooked Pierogies: have had a couple times, better with the peach jam on the side Potato puree: REALLY buttery Parker House rolls: great with the little cigar of butter! Tomato and peach salad with burrata: fantastic Skirt steak appetizer: my husband loves it Jalapeño creamed corn: not much jalapeño flavor, have had better Bar: meh We go when we're in Solvang, but for a Michelin star restaurant I was hoping for better.

The food, service and everything was amazing. We sat outside on the patio since we had our dog with us which was a plus. Here's what we ordered for our family of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids) Bread Basket (Free) and warm! We dunked in on a plate of olive oil & balsamic vinegar Spaghetti carbonara (5/5) $21 Very simple pasta dish, creamy spaghetti noodles smothered in cream, eggs, and tiny bits of pancetta. This was my fav dish also the birthday girls fav too. Linguine al pesce (4/5) $25 We wanted another base so tomato based with linguine and a variety of seafoods: shrimp, salmon, clams, mussels, squid Pepperoni sausage pizza (5/5) $24 The pizza wasn't too thick or thin and had a nice helping of pepperoni and sausage on top. We got extra Parmesan on all 3 dishes and ended up gobbling it all up. And to top it off they came in with a candle and a custard cake with chocolate and caramel to make it such a sweet ending for us to sing Happy Birthday to our daughter. Thank you for making it extra special!

UPDATE (September 2026) -- 1 Star (Worse than last year):…read more After leaving my original review, the owner left a sarcastic response telling me that "Osteria Grappolo will benefit from all your wisdom." Well, I gave his establishment the benefit of the doubt and returned a year later--and it was even worse. My girlfriend ordered the exact same dish (spaghetti with clams) hoping for improvement. Instead, my girlfriend got a pile of dry, tasteless pasta with almost no sauce and dried-out clams--even fewer than last year. My girlfriend barely touched her pasta either. So much pasta was ridiculous and tasteless. The service was as bad as last year but instead of a girl, this year was a guy and was completely indifferent. When we asked about the specials since we remembered that last year the waitress Claudia never told us about it, we asked, but instead of telling us, the waiter lazily pointed to a board far across the room, forcing my girlfriend to twist around just to read it, why couldn't he simply tell us, who knows, I guess he didn't want to talk. He never checked on us throughout the meal. When he came to take the plates away, he had so have noticed that my girlfriend barely had any pasta, yet, he asked her nothing and simply took the plate away. We ordered the $11 tiramisu hoping to salvage the night--huge mistake. It tasted terrible, clearly mass-pre-made, and was barely worth $1. We took one single bite and couldn't eat any more. When clearing our table, the waiter took away two practically full plates of pasta and an untouched tiramisu without saying a word. He never asked if anything was wrong, never offered to replace the dish, and never asked if we wanted a different dessert. Instead, he just dropped off the bill charging full price for everything we barely touched--and like idiots, we even tipped. $90 dollars literally thrown in the trash. Even if I paid $10 dollars, if the food is bad, I would have been upset. To top it off, the owner was doing the exact same routine as last year--ignoring smaller tables, making awkward jokes with larger groups, and pacing around the patio moving things around, closing the umbrellas around the tables. And interesting enough, mostly my girlfriend noticed it, not kidding either, he was wearing the same identical shirt and jeans as the year before, can't forget that shirt, what are the chances, must be his uniform, does it matter? Of course not, the bad experience, food and service is what mattered, and all failed, but funny to us nevertheless, felt like a repeat of one of the Twilight Zone episodes. His arrogant response to my first review claimed he cared about feedback, but the total lack of quality and hospitality proves otherwise. Save your time and money--go anywhere else in Solvang. To the owner, no worries, I will never come back to your restaurant, and this time trust me, I mean it, my money is as good as you and your staff need it to enjoy and survive I as well work hard for my money.

Unfortunately, nearly every part of the evening missed the mark. I sat outside at an uncomfortable table and waited at least 20 minutes before I was even acknowledged by a server. That set the tone for the entire night. Service remained extremely limited, and I barely saw my waiter throughout the meal. As for the food, I ordered several of the dishes I'd heard so much about: the cucumber salad, black cod, and garlic noodles. None lived up to the hype. The cucumber salad had very little flavor. The black cod was mediocre at best and certainly wasn't the standout dish I expected. And the garlic noodles were perhaps the biggest disappointment. They reminded me of the simple butter noodles you make for kids--and frankly, I've made better butter noodles at home. The one bright spot was the bread pudding, which my waiter recommended. It was genuinely delicious and easily the best thing I ate all evening. But one good dessert couldn't save the experience. Between the painfully inattentive service, uncomfortable outdoor seating, and mediocre food, the entire evening was a disappointment. I'm especially frustrated that, with only one dinner to enjoy while visiting the area, I chose to spend it here. Maybe I caught The Gathering Table on a particularly bad night, but based on my experience, I simply don't understand the hype.

We always love checking out where the locals like to go and so happy we did. The location is just outside of downtown Solvang... Less than five minutes by car. I didn't know such a beautiful golf course was right next to us, the restaurant had an outdoor patio that overlooked the beautiful golf course and the ambience was awesome. There were so many things on the menu that look delicious and I got to try so many different things because we all ordered something different. I was boring and ordered a basic breakfast, but the bacon was one of the most delicious ones I've had. I asked for extra crispy hash brown, and they did a great job. My significant other ordered a burger and it was to die for, I'm blanking on the name of the burger, but it had bacon, jalapeño aioli and came with the best side of onion rings. If you love onion rings, you should order it. My other friend had the French dip and that too was delicious, and this horseradish aïoli that it came with was amazing. And lastly, we also tried the bison chili which was tasty as well. The prices were quite reasonable. The server was great, and our overall experience was just enjoyable and we look forward to going back. Plenty of free parking in their private lot.

In Solvang for day, but the crowds in town have made finding a parking space difficult? On top of…read morethat it's lunchtime and you're hungry...well, on the outskirts of town is the River Grill At the Alisal (River Golf Course). Yes, my dear Yelp Review Readers, here you will find plenty of parking and the River Grill with striking overviews of the River (Golf) Course. The restaurant itself is fashioned in a "western" theme style, which is apropos since it is affiliated with the more famously known Alisal Ranch (a 10K+ acre California luxury Dude Ranch). The restaurant is spacious...plenty of tables and seating both indoor and outdoor. We were greeted as we entered the establishment and seated immediately. It was around 1:30pm and only two other tables inside and two tables outside the restaurant had diners. Our waitress was quick to hand us menus and very attentive in her customer service throughout our meal. I believe the Manager or Assistant Manager did a "table touch" and was very friendly in offering what ever assistance might be needed. The Menu (see pictures) wasn't overly expansive but offered a decent selection of offerings that would seem appropriate in satisfying a wide variety of patrons. After some conversation our Server took our order: Drinks - Watermelon Margarita (5/5) Appetizers (For the Table) - Crispy Brussel Sprouts (4/5), Smoked Chicken Wings (2/5...sadly "fried", bland and not moist under the "fried crust coating") and one of the offered "specials", the Heirloom Tomato Caprese Salad (5/5). Mains - Vaquero Burger (4/5 ...it "came" with the "right stuff" on it) with a side Salad, Bison Chile (4/5...if you like chile , this is a good bet), and from the Breakfast Menu, served all day on weekends, River Grill Eggs Benedict (5/5...exactly what one would expect). There was plenty of leftover food to take home. It was a decent meal...but nothing was a "standout" and none of the items served connected in anyway to Solvang's theme (as would have been the case,if we ate at one of the restaurants in town). So on this occasion, in this Yelper's opinion the River Grill At the Alisal certainly met expectations, but unfortunately, didn't exceed them and therefore truly earned this "it has its pros" 3.5 Star Review.
