A local recommended El Refugi Del Port for the best paella in town, and she wasn't wrong.
It was a bit more splurgy ($$$) but well worth it - I had the calamari, paella and we each had a glass of the cava sangria. To start, the sangria was truly the best I've had (in my life, not just in Barcelona - it wasn't too sweet and was made up of mostly wine). The paella was a lot more soupy than I'm used to, but that's how it's served traditionally so I was game to try it and enjoyed the seafood as well. My calamari wasn't heavily breaded but still managed to be very crispy without being super oily.
I loved the food here and the place gave me all the cottage vibes.
If I remember correctly, they don't start serving lunch until about 14h.
The waitress didn't speak much English (thankfully my friend speaks Spanish), but it just goes to show that this is a place locals frequent and that the food is authentic.
