We tried to inquire about various menu items and in addition to being out of several types of bread, as well as vegetables. She offered no recommendations for substituting those items that you were out of and stood there looking at us like we were inconveniencing her. The outside sign is obviously hand made by someone with zero experience. Even with the spacing of the letters, it is apparent that they started running out of room so the spacing got tighter. Walking in, it at first glance appears to be a dingy, dark grocery store. Then I noticed a few tables in the back. With all that being said, I have found that the best Mexican food comes from these hole-in-the-wall type places. Morales Tienda y Taqueria is certainly best described as a hole-in-the-wall type place and after trying the food, the restaurant just reinforces that belief. I ordered at the counter and the service was extremely friendly I went with two tacos and a volcano. For the tacos, I chose asada and chorizo and for the volcano, I had carnitas. All were very good and i would definitely recommend any and all of them. If you are in Troy, Alabama, is would definitely recommend Morales Tienda y Taqueria.
