Was within walking distance of the campground & we were craving Mexican. There was only one server (who made it clear that he was all by himself). There's absolutely no reason to eat the Taco Bell slop across the street when you can come here. One of the best Mexican restaurants I've been to. read more

This is a great local Mexican with fair prices, good atmosphere and decent seating. As a truck driver I've been coming here for several years and have always been respected and treated well, I can't say so much for many other places I go to. Stopped here before we exited Wine Country. The first thing we noticed was the place was much smaller than we expected. Chips and salsa were brought out and the chips were stale. We ordered and when our meals came, my girlfriend said her taco shell was stale and the ground beef was not good. I had the Carne Asada. It was overcooked and the portion was about half of what you would expect. I'd give the place a C, but my girlfriend would have gave it an F. Her giving a restaurant a failing grade is rare, but the minute I tasted stale chips, I knew her limit was reached. If items are stale or past date, you have to wonder what kind of health violations or bad practices are at play. We should have taken the word of wineries that Mexican restaurants in town are not worth trying. Unfortunately, we were both too hungry to drive an hour to Yakima for better reviewed fare. The food is great. Frankie and the rest of the crew are always warm and welcoming, and for being such a small operation, it is an extremely well-run establishment. As a Prosser resident and a regular at this restaurant I can assure you if it was bad food I wouldn't be there as often as I am. Their chicken enchiladas are a great, consistent choice. Also, a not very well known secret if you're just passing through, the strawberry lemonade is wonderful!! Found myself in Prosser craving some Mexican food. As a rule of thumb I always first try a Margarita and the chips and salsa before placing a order This usually lets me know what I'm in for before placing my order. The Margarita and the salsa were above average. However, it was a nice Saturday so I seated myself on the patio drank my drink and had a smoke at which such time the server came out and informed me there was no drinking or smoking on the patio and that the patio was now closed. So I paid for my $9.00 Margarita and got the hell out of the liberal establishment. A Mexican restaurant ( on a nice summer weekend ) that doesn't open the patio for having a drink and a smoke isn't true Mexi-Can it's Mexi-Can't. Very good food and service. We were a little concerned due to the 3 star ratings but we were pleasantly surprised. We were greeted promptly and found a very diverse menu. The shrimp fajitas were steaming and tasted great. A golden shrimp, veggies crisp and colorful, not greasy. The salsa was also just as we like it. I had the beef Piccadillo salad and it was flavorful with fresh salad. Big servings - far more than we could eat. Chips were crisped perfectly. read more

We had one of the best Mexican restaurant experiences here, definitely the best we have had in the area. The customer service was incredible. We were greeted and seated upon entering the restaurant and received our drinks, chips, and salsa within a few minutes. They were very accommodating to our special requests and extremely friendly. It genuinely felt like we were being waited on hand and foot. As far as food is concerned, it was absolutely delicious. Even my overly critical Mexican mother was impressed and actually finished her entire meal, which is a rarity for her. When you see the waiter greet multiple people by name as soon as they enter the restaurant and they ask for the usual, you know you found a special place. We will gladly travel the 20+ minutes from this point on when we're in the mood for Mexican food! read more

I called in my order to get the fajita salad, which I've had before at the other location. I spoke with the owner and asked to have it without the tortilla because I am on a low carb diet. He told me it doesn't come with a tortilla but it does come with chips and salsa. I asked for that to be on the side. When I got home I had a salad in a flour tortilla with a chip on top that had absorbed the guacamole and sour cream. To top it off the meat is rubbery and the $13 salad went to the trash. There is a reason this restaurant is in Prosser, instead of Sunnyside.......the demographic in Sunnyside would kick this restaurant to the curb. The food was bad for anyone with a palate. The Burrito Asada had two to three pieces of steak, but no shortage of beans and rice. I paid nearly $12 dollars for non fresh rice, beans, and non-home made quac. Save yourself some money and cook at home before you go here. Some meat and a crockpot would surpass the quality of this embarrassment to the mexican culinary world. Why can't you find a decent place to eat in Prosser? So disappointed with everything we ate in Prosser. The truck driver that's Mexican that said this place was authentic has no clue what he's talking about. You must have had crappy Mexican food from Mexico. Had the ceviche appetizer and it was watery with little flavor. Salsa was more tomato with hot sauce then anything of flavor. We came to the Wine Country RV park and got set up by 5:30. When it came time for a quick meal we wanted some Mexican food. While we were coming in, we saw El Rancho Alegre I looked it up and the reviews weren't stellar, but we decided to try them and The nachos we got were perfection! Fresh jalapeños, the chicken and beef were well seasoned! Fast and their salsa is fantastic! I didn't think about taking pic. before we ate everything!! If I could give zero stars, I would! My friends and I went in hoping for a yummy quick Mexican lunch...there were only 2 other tables w guests seated at the time we arrived, so it seemed reasonable. We were quickly seated and given chips and salsa...yay!! Oh wait, we were never given place settings or napkins so we stole some from the dirty table next to us. The waiter was nice enough, drinks came quick, then waited. And waited. Aaaaand waited. About 30 minutes later we could hear movement in the kitchen. (Were that out to lunch? On break? Im still not sure). 40 minutes from being seated our food finally arrived. My tacos al carbon we're stone cold. Cold plate, cold food. NOT GOOD. We waived our waiter down for help. We didn't have time to wait another 45 minutes for another meal so he took my plate away and brought me some rice and beans. That's it. We had to ask for my meal to be removed from the bill, which he reluctantly did. All in all an absolutely horrible experience. I don't know how this place still is in business :( read more

However there was food floating in my drink and also food inside my sons water cup... so kinda unsanitary... the food was okay but I was still kind of tripping out about the chunk of taco floating in my Soda.
