Pictured above: The terrible waitress actively ignoring us even though she sees me taking a photo of her for this review.

TLDR: DONT ORDER THE HAWAIIAN FAJITAS Our waitress spent at-least 1/3 of the time sitting with this group and talking to them while we tried to get her attention multiple times to remind her about the drink we ordered that she forgot to bring us... She was very rude and rolled her eyes and sighed at me when I asked about the drink. We were also very disappointed with the Hawaiian fajita. The veggies weren't cooked, it came out room temp, the pineapple was canned and there was so little of it on the plate that we thought they made the wrong dish. It also only came with two tiny tortillas and was about half the size of the fajitas we order at other restaurants. El ranchito advertises a student discount for Marshall students but apparently that doesn't apply to game days (they don't tell you until you have to pay) We went to el ranchito in the evening after a home football game so the atmosphere was very chaotic and loud. Soon after we walked in, they had to escort a guest out of the building due to disruptive and disorderly behavior. He was so drunk he couldn't stand on his own. We didn't hold any of that against them in terms of our overall rating, but in combination with the bad service, bad food and revoked student discount, we had to rate the experience a 1/5 stars. (We would give it a 0/5 if we could)

Ordered Consomé De Birria and QuesaBirria Tacos -- both were delicious!!! I've never had these type of tacos before but they will be a new regular item for me, as well as the soup. The taco meat is a chuck roast that is mouth watering y'all. Take it up a notch further and dip it in the soup... chef's kiss! Service is always super great here, as well.

HORRIBLE! $3.20 for this tiny ramekin of cheese dip?!? Are you kidding me??? I WILL NOT BE ORDERING FROM THERE AGAIN! I used to order 3 times this much from there before for $3. The manager wouldn't even make it right so NO MORE will I patronize this location! They are just as bad as RIO on 4th Ave now!

When there is no soap, towels, or hot water in the restroom, and the employees use the same restroom, it's time to leave.

Vegetarian Fajitas we're extremely bland. Just a bunch of unseasoned vegetables and two fajitas. Do white people own this restaurant?

They have an extensive drink menu, with cocktails, local and imported beer, and wine. The Tapas Experience, $30 for 3 tapas, is such a good deal! Service was good! They did a good job of spacing out serving us the tapas. For drinks, I tried the Bourbon Peach Smash, Blackberry Gin, and Godiva Chocolate Martini. All cocktails were $12. They were all good! However, I didn't see any fresh muddled peaches in the Bourbon Peach Smash. Here's the food I tried: - Adult Fries ($12): Amaaaazing. Not spicy to me! - 3 Cheese Arancini ($12, unless part of Tapas Experience): Fine, but 3 balls just isn't worth it to me. - Lemon Ricotta and Roasted Red Pepper Crostini ($12, unless Tapas Experience): Super good!! - Bruschetta ($12, unless T.E.): Delicious! - Duck Confit Egg Rolls ($16, unless T.E.): Such a large portion! Very good! - Buffalo Chicken Sliders: They were out of short rib, so they recommended these to us instead. I wasn't a huge fan and wouldn't get these again. - Tapas Tacos (3 for $15, but you get 2 when doing T.E.): We tried the Jamaican Jerk Chicken and the Black Bean. Neither were that great. Next time, I would do the Tapas Experience and get the Lemon Ricotta and Roasted Red Pepper Crostini, Bruschetta, and Duck Confit Egg Rolls. That was enough between 2 people. If we were still hungry, I would get the Adult Fries. I would go back!

I never give anyone the perception of liking or disliking this establishment and probably never will, as far as she knows I'm completely indifferent.. truth is she doesn't really use yelp so I feel I can come clean on here.. I have this pair of pants, call them my comfy cozy pants, anyone who knows me well would never think that I care about any article of clothing, but I do, when I wear these pants, I'm happy. If someone stole these pants I would dedicate my life to being a private investigator just to hunt down that sick emotionless turd who stole my beloved leg holsters. This restaurant makes me feel the way my sick pants do, just pure comfort and happiness. I'm not a wise and experienced food critic, I'm just an average guy who really like a smooth pair of slacks, some two dollar margaritas, chips and salsa, and a big ol veggie burrito. None of these things by themselves are transcendent.. but put them all together.. heck yeah! Don't go in here expecting to have the best meal of your life, think of it like slipping on your favorite comfy cozies, wrapped in a blanket, binge watching Ted Lasso on a Friday night. It just feels good! You have the whole weekend ahead, sleep in on Saturday, maybe even get a little tipsy, you had a rough week, treat yourself.
