Hands-down the best grilled chicken that I've ever had. It's always so flavorful and moist. The sides are also delicious and let's not forget about their stand out salsa. Just the right amount of spice and it complements the chicken so well. I always opt for flour tortillas. Their prices are also great. They have wonderful lunch specials and family meals. The restaurant itself is pretty small. Parking is limited as well as seating. It doesn't appear to be the cleanest place and is quite outdated, but the food definitely makes me overlook that. The ladies working the register are always friendly and welcoming.

Always a line- they are that good!

Truly authentic & delicious; never have had anything less than cooked to perfection chicken and sides! Here are 2 downsides to be aware of: 1. Even if you order online and have a set pick up time, expect 10-15 longer to wait. 2. Never attempt to park in their parking lot, it's an accident waiting to happen and I've seen approximately 7 over the past few years! Otherwise, enjoy this most scrumptious restaurant you've ever tasted!

    So worth the $10

This place is so good. It's amazing. I've eaten here before the chicken is so delicious. I got a single lunch, which is a leg and thigh with rice beans and tortillas with a drink. For under $10.. I love when I'm in Pasadena. I always stop by here.

When a restaurant does one thing and really hones in and masters their craft, the result speaks for itself. This place does chicken supremely well because that is all they do. The value of the meals is great. You can choose between quarter, half, or whole chicken with tortillas and sides. The chicken is very tasty and juicy, packed with flavor and perfectly made. The sides are also nice. There are some tables but they mainly do takeout. The staff are very friendly and treat you like family.

I ordered via Uber Eats and delivery was as quick. Also food was still pipin hot so that's a plus 8 piece combo - I'm a drumstick girlie and it was juicy and delish even the chicken breast!! Love this place and would come back here to dine in person again

Additional charges for things that used to be complementary. The filth it has become for not maintaining its cleanliness.

My husband and I have been coming to this restaurant for over 15 years because it used to have the best chicken anywhere. We would even drive 50 miles one way (100 miles round trip) just for it. Sadly, things have really gone downhill. The chicken pieces are much smaller, the restaurant itself was filthy (you can see from the pictures just walking up to it), and now they charge for everything--plates, to-go containers, ice, chili, and even an extra "internet charge" if you order online. I don't know if ownership has changed since I didn't see the same lady who used to run it, but it's clear the quality and care are gone. Greed will kill any business, and I'm not sure how long they'll last operating this way. Unfortunately, I can no longer recommend this place and won't be coming back.

I always see this restaurant on my drive to other chicken places and one day I decided to give it a chance. It seems to be family owned and I walked in to place an order to go. The service was great, fast, and you can smell and see the chicken grilling when ordering food. You can't beat the price! There are some parking spots in the front, but there are also some parking spaces in the back lot. It is a very small place, so you will see people waiting outside or standing by the door. However, you can tell that the food is fresh and the chicken was good. I would say it is a lower cost pollo loco.

I can't say enough great things on their world class staff, exceptional service, and amazing foods + drinks. This establishment brings it every day! My most recent visit was full of spicy and sweet surprises. The young gentleman behind the register was super friendly and helpful. He offered shake fries on the house so I can try them. Thank you! I forgot to order a drink. The young lady behind the counter said she got me covered. I got a bottled orange drink on the house. Thank you! Wow, now that's generous hospitality. I got 3 chicken wings that came with one toast and some pickles plus the shake fries. Wings were lightly fried with perfect crispness. Mild spice was still spicy, but manageable good spice. Bread was good, but it would have been nice if it was lightly toasted. Pickles were delightful. It was indeed one tasty lunch. Howlin' Ray's, you're the best! I'm coming back with full force for more deliciousness. I'll be howlin' all the way here.

If you love fried chicken, you cannot go wrong eating here. The service i have mixed opinions. Most all of the employees are friendly. Maybe too friendly. Part of the reason for their long line would be the talkative cashiers. There is a way to chat up the customer while still keeping things moving along, but I've not seen it once while there; the chicken is that good that I put up with my least favorite thing at a restaurant--unnecessary conversation that adds to the wait time. The ambiance is also not my favorite. It's too loud in there. The music could be a touch lower--I'm there to eat, not be at the club--and the top notch cooks in the back yell a lot. I will say that the yelling appears to keep them upbeat, positive, and motivated; I see the value in it, yet it's the reason I get delicious chicken to go. They have a clean bathroom, a parking lot in back, and some of the best chicken in the Greater Los Angeles area. My mouth waters when I even begin to think about going there. Also, I believe the times to avoid the long waits would be weekdays until about 3 PM ish.

The fries were good and crispy, but the fried shrimp, while okay with cocktail sauce, weren't the best quality and I wouldn't order them again. It's the perfect shareable meal and worth every single penny. It's been a minute since I wrote a review, but these guys deserve the love. The photos I snapped don't do the chicken, salad, or any of the fixings justice, but trust me: if you're hunting for some of the best herb-roasted chicken in town, Kismet is a must-try. The name fits the vibe perfectly--meant to be. I'm picky about rotisserie/herb-roasted chicken and always benchmark against heavy hitters: Mi Piace's Prezzemolo (still my all-time favorite), the long-gone Lemon Herb Roasted Chicken from Cheesecake Factory's heyday, and more recently, Verde in Costa Mesa's killer Lemon & Sumac half chicken (easily top 3). Kismet's half chicken holds its own in that elite group. It's juicy, tender, and packed with bright Mediterranean flavor--a healthier, more refined take on the classic Zankou Chicken style I've loved forever. What pushes it over the edge for me is the quality: free-range, non-GMO, antibiotic-free, air-chilled, and raised right here in California. Bottom line: Kismet belongs on any serious "greatest herb-roasted chicken" list (at least mine). If you haven't tried it yet, go fix that. Highly recommend.

I had 2 other experiences prior to this where the chicken seemed off but I kept trusting it would be as good as it when I first had Kismet when it first opened back in March 2025. On May 7th, 2026 at 3:30 PM I ordered for pickup my usual meat and potatoes plate. Weirdly, the order was ready for pickup in a couple of minutes when usually it would be ready in 10 minutes which would have been less sketchy. I should have trusted my instincts. I walked in to pick up my order and there were zero customers around, usually there are a few customers eating at the tables. Sign that the quality has dwindled and the regulars aren't retuning. I get back home to treat myself (I spent $28 for the meal plus a drink.) Much to my dismay I opened the plate and was so disappointed. It was half of what normally comes in the box but the potatoes were stacked high and of course extremely oily. I was like ok let's just eat this because I don't have more time to find another place to get food plus I've already splurged. The chicken was undercooked and rubbery and came with no chicken breast like it normally does just some boney legs. Since I was so hungry and paid the extra money for "light" chicken I still ate it. I'm sick now, the night of May 8th I'm still on the toilet. Save your money and go to Zankou if you want good rotisserie chicken they've been doing it right in LA since the 80s. Or Costco; 5$ chicken unless you want a $32 dollar chicken here to make you and your family sick and poor.
