Reliable, high quality and flavorful chicken. The tamales are moist and flavorful. The sides that come with the chicken meals are good. The other menu items look good too such as the gorditas, going to try one next time, I see many ordering it. When ordering tamales ask what they have, the board isn't always up to date. 4/5 is a strong endorsement for me. 5/5 I reserve for fine dining or truly exceptional experiences. read more

Delicious tacos, but way too expensive for a taco place. The prices have changed over the years. I just got a flauta combo and for 4 flautas, a small side of rice and beans and a 12 oz canned sodas (they got rid of their soda machines) it was $16! Enchilada plate, with rice and beans and a 12 oz drink another $16. 5 tacos, $20. The rice and beans are below average, not that great. They only gave me two sauces and then I had to pay 75 cents each for more. The cashier at the front was rude, seemed like she didn't even like working there. And to top it off once I got home, the 10 minute drive my tacos and flautas got soggy. his place has not improved and there prices just keep sky rocketing. I wish I could support this business more but they have lost my business. read more

Ended up at this little hole in the wall on accident. I was on lunch break working a construction job up in Ogden. Not being familiar with the area i put in my gps for one of my favorite places for chicken El Pollo Loco. However when i arrived at my destination i did not realize i had actually clicked on a place called El Pollo Rico. So i decided to try it out and i was not disappointed. The menu looked to be a Mexican/American mix with a lot of Mexican hamburger options but i was on a mission for chicken. 10 Bucks will get you a couple chicken thighs, beans, rice, corn or flour tortillas, a roasted jalapeño, a lime, and a little cup of pickled onions and a Jaritos. The chicken was nice and juicy and the skin was grilled to perfection nice and crispy. The green avocado salsita was very delicious and the red had great flavor and a lot of heat. I love tearing off pieces of my chicken and just dunking them in the spicy red sauce! Overall a great little unsuspected lunch break for a hard working construction gal like myself read more

This place has good mole, which is rare. Customer service was great, fresh tortillas amazing. The hottest salsa was actually very hot, which is also rare. Would have liked a salsa bar, you only get one sauce with your meal, which is a bit of a bummer. I'll come here again when I want mole :). read more

The chicken (tender and tasty inside, crisp and savory outside) is almost always excellent and sometimes sublime, and the sides are also satisfying real food. Nothing fancy -- just good ingredients plus good cooking. The chicken plates are our favorite quick take-out in Ogden, and the chicken family meal works well for guests. Ordered a cheese quesadilla very clearly. Server: no meat? Me: yes. no meat I am a vegetarian. Server: ok. A quarter of the way through my quesadilla I discovered the whole thing had alot of diced chicken! This was after waiting 40 min for 3 quesadillas and just after I discovered my Mtn Dew was watery and tasted like club soda. I was already home when I discovered this and instead had to eat the only thing I had (a can of cranberry sauce) much better than breaking my 2 year no-meat streak.
