Grabbed lunch here before hitting a movie at the next door theater. I got the 2 piece chicken meal with double mashed potatoes and flour tortillas. Whenever I'm in Arizona, Las Vegas or Southern California; I try to save at least one meal for El Pollo Loco. Yes, it's fast food and yet it seems home cooked. The taste is flavorful and the chicken is deliciously seasoned. They have tasty, filling healthy options too. I LOVE the open kitchen concept! You can see the chicken on the grill. They cater and their plastic packaging holds the food tightly. There is a rewards program (too bad-I live 1,000 miles away from the nearest El Pollo Loco.) It has been my "go-to" for more than a decade. Even in 2024, all these years later, I still save a meal for El Pollo Loco. read more

Their food is awesome! We eat here regularly and always have consistently wonderful food with real ingredients and courteous service. Their salsas are flavorful with a great variety of avocado salsa, salsa Roja, and pico de gallo all given generously. The chips and guacamole are legit! The food is... well, as good as a Pollo Loco could be. Fresh, hot, and made to order. This is where it gets tricky. I've come here 5-6 times over the course of 1-2 years and it's now 100% of the times where to customer service is really bad. Just extremely condescending behavior and the tone of, "Why am I even here". I'm not the biggest fast food guy, but I love my chicken off the grill and sometimes the convenience can be worth it. I had the quesadilla special, and it was good, but the chicken was a little dry, so I did not finish it. My wife had the 2-pc chicken dinner, and it was fine, but again, on the dry side. Me and my family came here to pick up dinner the other night. We are not new to El Pollo Loco and we're just having a crave. Me and my mom ordered a "meal for 2". We each got two pieces of chicken (leg and thigh), a side of choice, a side salad, and a churro. The chicken was pretty small and seemed skimpy. It was not filling on its own. The skin was very chewy and flaked off. The side salad was also disappointing. There was hardly any dressing on it to cover my whole salad. If I had enough dressing the salad would have been great! the churro was a little funky. It had a sour or bitter after taste to it that I couldn't pinpoint. Everyone else in my family was fine with their food as they got their usuals. Next time I will be sure to get my nachos per usual! Came here for the birria tacos but they didn't sell them anymore. Opted for the Baja shrimp tostada salad. Definitely not worth $10 on a salad, but you get what you pay for at a fast food restaurant. The salad greens were crispy with rice and beans at the bottom. The tostada itself was ok, a little greasy but tolerable. I'd probably not get the salads and stick with the tacos. The entire staff (including the literal MANAGER) had no idea how to use the app. All I wanted was the $35 Friendsgiving deal and they were acting like they've never heard of it before when it's literally featured front page in the app. They charged me twice. And made me and my family wait for nearly 45 minutes while they fumbled around on the register trying to look busy while dodging eye contact. (I'd also like to mention that a group of them had my phone and card for 15+ mins in the back. Again, unprofessional.) I get that this is just a fast food restaurant, but at least have the tiniest bit of professionalism. The right thing to do in the situation would be to comp my meal or call the supervisor to help them figure out how to use that app. But they didn't, they just stalled and waited for me to get impatient enough that I would just leave and they wouldn't have to deal with the situation. I recently had a disappointing experience at here on 6/30/24 The cashier informed me that my card was not going through, so I used a different card. While waiting for my order I opened my bank account and realized that both cards had been charged. I immediately spoke to the manager and showed him the charges on my phone, but he insisted that he couldn't do anything until I brought in a copy of my statement. When I asked for his name, he refused to give it to me. I eventually found his name on the receipt. This was very frustrating and inconvenient. I ordered the chicken tinga burrito and a small chips with guacamole. The burrito was really good, and it was on a great, soft tortilla. I hate bad tortillas! The guacamole was fresh. Took them a while to acknowledge us when we walked in. We stood there and waited until someone finally decided to make their way on over to us to take our order. We got their family meal. 8 pieces of legs and thighs, two sides, (pinto beans and mashed potatoes) tortillas, and a chicken tortilla soup. Oh and a drink for about $25. We got our salsas and while standing their one of the girls (an employee) phone starts to ring and she answers it. No one tells her anything. She talks and talks and when she hangs up she goes on and keeps fulfilling orders. They had one of the doors propped wide open with a chair so there were a ton of bugs on the tables towards the back. We ended up sitting in the middle. The bathroom had no paper towels so I had to use napkins. The soda machine was about to go down since most of the sodas we sampled were watered down. The food at least tasted pretty good. I could hear the employees conversations from where I was siting. This was such a disappointing visit. I went because I had a coupon for food. What I received isn't what I thought I would get having gone multiple times in the past. I ordered a double chicken avocado salad in the past a it was served in a tostada bowl with beans and rice and the base with lettuce and corn then chicken and avocado. What I got was a handful of lettuce with six tiny pieces of chicken. When I called the manager on duty for June 14, 2021 at 5:09pm told me I got what I ordered and there was nothing she would do about it. Sadly I think this will be my last meal from there. What poor customer service. I work retail and if that were the attitude I presented to my customers I'd be fired.
