we got dinner here after spending the afternoon at el retiro, a massive public park w fountains, gardens, and a boating lake. the interior was so charming and the service was rly friendly (she even complimented me on my spanish even tho im well aware its utter garbage lol) the duck tacos were an interesting dish, very reminiscent of peking duck with the cucumber and hoisin dipping sauce but the true standout of the meal was the sparking wine and the mushrooms. i think it was the best drink i had all trip and u can never go wrong w stuffed mushrooms

Dog lovers in Madrid can dine in a restaurant that appreciates both their passion for canines and the desire for gourmet gastronomy. El Perro y la Galleta, "The Dog and the Cookie", celebrates the owner's terriers and a connection to a traditional Spanish cookie company. The menu features different dishes with a unique take on using cookies as an ingredient. I had the pleasure of bringing my friend to El Perro y la Galleta for lunch one afternoon, where we were delighted with the service right from the moment we entered. The restaurant's décor mixes cute with upscale, that feels welcoming and comfortable. The warm wood floors combined with tile, and the classic tableware creates a modern atmosphere, while the ode to dogs shines through art and wall sculptures. We started with yucca fritters filled with braised beef cheeks, and the meat was tender while the starch was a great compliment. We really loved the eggplant coated in biscuit with Pomodoro sauce and Parmesan cheese. The first "cookie" themed dish we tried from the menu was a huge success, as it was a different take on classic eggplant parmigiana. I moved onto a course of rice with mushrooms and wild asparagus. Fluffy, light, and earthy, this dish is always a favorite. He chose grilled squids with black rice, and also commented on the flavor of the rice and the perfectly cooked squid. For a restaurant with "cookie" in its name, we knew we couldn't skip dessert. I stayed the traditional Spanish course, opting for three chocolate cake with biscuit ice cream, while my friend ordered crème brulee with a biscuit base. Magnificent in all regards. El Perro y la Galleta is a dog-friendly, contemporary gourmet spot with impeccable service and a great design. A must-visit in Madrid.

From the moment we walked in, the staff was beyond friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was vibrant, lively, and fun. I ordered the sangria, which was honestly the best I had in Madrid, while my mom enjoyed a lovely glass of wine. We started with the padrón peppers, burrata with tomato salsa, and patatas bravas -- every single dish was packed with flavor and absolutely delicious. For the main course, we had the beef with chimichurri and butter, and OMG... it was phenomenal. Everything was cooked perfectly, and all the flavors complemented each other so well. To finish the night, we shared the chocolate dessert and the "Love Chueca" cocktail, which was incredible and the perfect ending to an amazing meal. Couldn't recommend this restaurant enough. Amazing food, fantastic drinks, wonderful staff, and such a great atmosphere. We'll definitely be back next time we're in Madrid!

Not too cartoonish, just the proper decor to make you feel in the Spanish traditional mood. We started with the Steak Tartar de Bellota sobre tuétano asado a la brasa, a bold yet well-balanced dish. The beef was fresh, finely cut, and seasoned with precision, allowing the quality of the meat to shine. The roasted bone marrow added depth and richness without overwhelming the tartare, and the toasted bread on the side brought crunch to each bite. One of the highlights and favorites was the Arroz meloso de la huerta, cooked with coconut milk. Creamy and aromatic, the rice had a smooth, comforting texture with a subtle coconut note that added more flavor rather than sweetness. The vegetables brought freshness and balance, making it easy to see why this is a favorite of the head chef, especially when paired with a glass of ICENI, Vino de la Tierra de Cádiz, which sparks aromatic notes to this recipe. Another standout was the Puntillitas de Isla Cristina con Parmentier de Trufa y Huevo Frito. An Andalucian authentic dish. The puntillitas were crispy and perfectly cooked. The truffled parmentier added richness, while the fried egg blends everything. To accompany the meal, the marinated olives were a simple nice add-on. Service is well delivered. Overall, Triana delivers a confident and reliable dining experience. A traditional not too pretentious spot to bring friends coming from abroad with no unnecessary theatrics. Well-executed dishes, quality ingredients, and a traditional neighborhood atmosphere that you can go back to if you are in the area.

Therefore, when I give a Spanish restaurant five stars you know it has to be good. However, not just good in flavor but innovative as well. Let's start with the restaurant. For a restaurant in the city it is quite roomy. Many tables litter the dinning area. Also, they have what looks to be a seating area upstairs (I'm not entirely sure since I didn't venture up). The entire place has a rustic, secluded feel that transports you far from Madrid into a warm, relaxing environment. The wait staff is helpful and friendly. We were served by three gorgeous and sweet ladies who ensured own meal and experience was top notch. The food was portioned right and delicious. We enjoyed wine, vermouth, beer, carne, ox tail, fried eggplant and potatoes, and finished it all with a shot of sweet liqueur. The food was created with spice and flavor, which made the meal fantastic. Overall, this was an amazing restaurant coupled with an amazing experience. I will definitely return. Enjoy!
