Good is pretty average. Camarones con queso is really good! Staff is friendly. Service on Sunday is usually slow but any other time it's good. Their salsa is pretty bland though. Pretty much tastes like tomato juice. I usually order pick de gallo and mix it with my salsa to make the salsa edible. If I could I would put 0 stars. My husband and I went for a late lunch. We got two margaritas. He got a blue Pacifico. Coming from someone who did her time as a bartender at a Mexican restaurant, this was THE WORST drink I have ever had. It tasted like liquid Benadryl. It was horrible. When my husband asked to get it switched with a Modelo the waitress just replied " there's a big price difference". Again, I worked in the food industry for almost 8 years and never once was that the correct response to a customer not enjoying their food or drink. But wait it gets worse! Besides just having overall rude service from the server/bartender, we had an issue with the food as well. I ordered crazy rice with steak. And instead of onions I asked for the mixed vegetables to be added. All of my broccoli did not have the tops on them, it was just the stem. There was no zucchini or squash which is included in their mixed vegetables. And again, it gets worse! As I was eating my food I bit down into something very hard. I took it out and to my surprise it was a small ROCK! I gave it to my husband asking what it was because I was in shock. He was too, and to make sure we weren't loosing it, he tried to cut it with a knife, wouldn't cut. When we asked for a manager, we told her the situation and my husband dropped it in a empty salsa bowl and it made the sound you would think a bead or marble would make being dropped into a plastic bowl! All she said is " oh wow let me go see what this is about" The manager told the server to take the food away and get me a replacement. But I kindly declined. And my husband asked for the check. They thankfully took the food off of the check. But the drink that he told the server was horrible, was not taken off. Or even discounted. And again the service was just rude about the whole situation with both things. I used to love this place. I have been coming here since I was in high school. But I will NOT be going back. This was my first time to visit El Patio. First for the negative. I ordered fish tacos. The 3 corn tortillas came flat on the plate, next was small chunks of fish (unable to tell what kind of fish or method it was prepared).Then there was a fist full of small chopped onions, and topped with an entire bunch of cilantro ( the plate was entirely green). I removed as much cilantro as possible (which I love) and took one bite. The grease poured off of the taco. The fish smell was so nauseating that I had to cover it with my napkin. My sister shared an avocado dish with me. It was delicious! I also loved the salsa. It had some heat. The chips were a bit thick and not warmed. They met my needs while eating the salsa and advocada. It's not the best mexican food I've ever had but it'll do in a pinch. My husband loves the guacamole and queso. I typically like salsa with chunks of tomato but everything else super well blended. El patio is great, especially because the have a concurrent drive though for call ahead orders. The Cray Rice is top notch. If you want to save, skip the rice and beans, and get something simple. Just order of the ala carte menu! read more

This is by far the only Mexican place we eat at now. Their guacamole is the best. It's just a simple one, no chunky stuff like onions and tomatoes (which I like but this isn't in there). My family has eaten at El Patio a number of times and I order one of two entrees which have always been good (chicken fajitas for 2 & cheese enchiladas). Tonight I ordered something different, a cheese quesadilla and a beef quesadilla. The cheese quesadilla was fine BUT THE BEEF QUESADILLA WAS AWFUL. It was so bad I had to throw it away. If a "0" was possible you wouldn't deserve it. Went in expecting a half decent meal. Had to wait about 5 minutes for the waiter to bring me and my wife menus for us to review. A group of 8 came in and the water jumped on them quickly. I assume he saw a bigger tip. I motioned to the waiter that we were ready to order but he was more involved with the larger group. He finally came to us to take our order. When the order arrived both dishes were saturated in salt to the point we couldn't and wouldn't eat most of it. I didn't say anything, paid my bill and left. The Monster Mango Margarita was great! The steak taco salad was good but the meat was a little chewy... tasty but chewy. The server was very good/attentive. They have a HUGE menu and we will be back. Nice to have a restaurant like this so close to us in Keithville. Yay! 2nd visit... Got the skirt steak and it, too, was pretty chewy but it tasted alright. I got the beerita (well, 2 actually!) and they snuck up on me!!! LOL They didn't seem super strong at the time but they were!! Next time, 1 will suffice! ;0) 3rd visit... Got a steak burrito that was supposed to have "cheese sauce" over the top of it but it was soooooo NOT sauce... It was a square piece of white cheese x 3 laid across the burrito... You know the individually wrapped pieces of cheese that are square that comes in a big package? Yeah... That kind of cheese... not SAUCE. The meat was still chewy. My husband was disappointed in his as well-- said the meat was chewy and seemed like it had been boiled as it had no flavor. My final thoughts are: Don't get anything with the fajita steak... or any "steak." The skirt steak was definitely chewy. The drinks are good tho! I got to high lifters almost every weekend with friends and we stop here after every time. We're always covered in mud and sit outside and they don't mind a bit. The food is always amazing! My husband and I have been regulars here since they opened. Would go 2-3 times a week at times but the past few times we have been the food has been mediocre and our bill has been incorrect the last two times. Wife and I decided to see if the " rural" version of the newer city version was any good. It was a Friday night, Happy Hour goes from five to closing- we expected a wait to be seated. Not so. Seated within minutes! Our waiter was young and efficient! We both ordered margaritas , chips, salsa and an order of pico de Gallo . The salsa tends to be tasty but mild. The jalapeños in the pico, when mixed, kicks it up a notch. A few drops of the table top Habanero sauce REALLY kicks up the heat. Wife ordered vegetable nachos, I chose beef fajitas . Food came quickly. Portions very ample!! Fajitas not sizzling, but tasty and mixed with fresh vegetables. The chips, like the newer " city" version were thick, unsalted and perfect for scooping up retried beans. Not my favorite chip, but got the job done-- much less browned than the city version. The prices are amazing, beef fajitas costing a little more than ten bucks! Had to bring home a to- go box. Nothing fancy, but a lot of bang for your buck! We only ordered Mexican ~~ The Keithville Special & Fiesta meal. In all honesty we were very disappointed. The Red sauce had no flavor,the guacamole was mashed avocado only,no seasoning what so ever. Beans tasted like they were from a can again no seasoning. Chips and salsa ok. The beef was like it was puréed very thin beef texture.
