Worst food and service. So it's a Mexican restaurant but they don't have a "tacos" section on their menu. What?????? Had to order a so called steak but it was not only thin but the single worst piece of meat I will ever try to eat. The guy didn't bother asking me how I preferred my temperature. I barely ate anything. When I asked for the bill I got nothing except a dollar amount from the so called server. This place is a complete joke. A Mexican place that doesn't offer tacos? wow. El Paso was great in a pinch. It was a really chilly day and we went out to visit some alpacas in that area. By the time our visit was over we were STARVING. In that area, it kind of felt like there were very limited options on a Sunday. We were definitely worried we'd have to drive all the way back to Lees Summit to grab a bite...but then we saw it! Right there, smack on the shoulder on the highway. We got seated inside almost immediately and the menu was great (and had pictures which is always a plus at a Mexican restaurant! I ordered a smothered quesadilla and it was delicious. The place was full but the staff were quick and very kind. Affordable too! Their chicken fajita and queso is delicious! They definitely do not skimp out on chicken and the size of their cheese. A medium is good for a 5 person family and there was so much chicken in the fajitas. Sooooooooooo goood will go again. read more

I tried this restaurant a several time and have never been disappointed. This night I had the fajita El Paso which is Steak, Chorizo, Chicken, and Shrimp and is accompanied by refried beans and rice. Also has sour cream, guacamole, pico, and lettuce. The flavors are great and marry well together with the onions and green peppers they are cooked with. This place is a little out of the city limits as it is located half way between Warrensburg and Lee's Summit on 50 hwy. The decor is a little dated but don't let this discourage you from trying this place. read more

Place is usually busy, which is a good sign, but noisy so if you want a place to carry on a deep conversation, this is not it, or sit outside. I tried this place for the first time tonight... As a native of Southern California and a lover of all things spicy, I have very high standards when it comes to Mexican food. I have to admit that my expectations going in were very low, but I was told by family that this is the place to go if you're in the area looking for the good stuff. So I decided to give it a shot. From the exterior the place looked rather unassuming, which was a good sign in my opinion. Some of the best food on earth can be found in locations that from the outside, look rather dull. The atmosphere inside was great. I felt like I was in a classic Mexican restaurant. I ordered take out and talked with the owner for a few minutes while I waited. I learned that he, originally from Mexico, had also lived in Southern California for many years. We chatted about some of the places back home and my doubts about the quality and taste of the food I was about to try slowly vanished. I knew it would be good. I ordered the Enchiladas Supremas. Menu description: "Supreme combination of one chicken enchilada, one bean enchilada, one cheese enchilada and one beef enchilada topped with ranchero sauce, lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream." To be honest, this wasn't the best Mexican food I've ever eaten. Not even close. But when you're in Missouri your expectations when seeking out really good southwestern cuisine must be kept at a minimum. This area of the country just doesn't do Mexican food right. The complimentary chips and salsa that came with my order were really good. I was just surprised by how mild the salsa was. Maybe these Missourians out here can't take the heat? All things considered, it was nice to come across someone originally from California who knew how to at least do Mexican food right. Out here, that's all you can really ask for. Met our son here for linner (main meal at 3:30 PM) Saturday on the way home to KC after watching son's basketball game in Centreville. For a rural shop they definitely surprised! Ordered chicken fajitas and was NOT skimped on the amount of chicken, and everything was very good. Others in our group were fully satisfied as well. I wouldn't drive from KC to seek this place out, but if you live in west- central Missouri between KC/Lee's Summit and Warrensburg this could be your new go-to. Well done! read more

The only thing that we don't like about it is that there is a smoking section so while you are enjoying your food you get to inhale cigarette smoke. We recently moved to the area and found this to be a favorite location for us but sadly because of the smoking we will not be going back. read more

Went in at 11 as they opened. Greeted warmly and order was taken promptly. Tortillas are homemade as well as the salsa. The food is authentic and fabulous, not americanized. Portions are reasonable and all food was well seasoned. Would recommend to anyone wanting real Mexican cuisine. read more

Food is pretty standard for the area, I mean you are probably close to 1,000 miles from Mexico. Not bad compared to most Mexican joints in Missouri. The margaritas are good. The food was alright, nothing to brag about, but the cleanliness of the place is subpar. I stopped there last night and got half way through my drink when I realized I was drinking out of a DIRTY glass. It had not been washed. Awful! Just AWFUL! My husband & I went for dinner - he had enchiladas & I had soft & crunchy tacos. My tacos had no flavor what so ever. His enchilada suprema plate was very disappointing - it was as though they heated the fillings then rolled the tortillas up & spooned the sauce over the top without ever baking them.
