We had a great trip to Bonita Casa Mexico recently! It's nice and cool inside, and not too loud. Our server was super helpful and accommodating of preferences and the food was great! Everything was very flavorful and cooked to order. Generous portions and a large selection on the menu. I thought the prices were also pretty good! The quesabirria was excellent. Tender and juicy beef with tons of cheese, and the dipping sauce was amazing! So flavorful! First of all Daniela is a kind and hard worker that makes you feel welcome and seen. She gave me an honest assessment of my choices. Always a welcome. I went with the pork burrito and she was right the pineapple gave it a nice touch. The inside was nice and festive. I would definitely go back and try some other menu items. We've been coming here for over 7 years now, and it's a family favorite. The food is incredible. I have at least 4 favorites, and they continually update and add new things. Some favs for reference, the choripollo, carnitas, chicken fajitas and tamales. The staff are incredible. They get to know you, and everyone is welcoming and helpful. The owners are always active and involved as well. It's comfortable, friendly and amazing. Not to mention the best margaritas around! On Sunday, October 6th, I ordered the steak fajita burrito. I hate to say but this was the worst meal I had from Casa Mexico. I was not able to bite into the steak; it wouldn't even tear apart with my hands. Although I was looking forward to my dinner, I ended up being very disappointed. At one point, I was curious if it was beef/steak. I hope they received other complaints and decide not to use that type of meat. I ended up taking the meat out and eating it as a bean and rice burrito (not what I paid for). It also lacked any type of flavor/seasoning. Decor is colorful, cute, and very Mexican. The service was very attentive and everyone there was super nice. The food left a bit to be desired. The beans and rice with my dish were just average, not much flavor. The shrimp dish I ordered was not bad but it wasn't what I was expecting as far as colors, presentation, and flavor. My food was good until I found pieces of plastic in it, and they wanted to explain why it was there instead of trying to offer another one. I was expecting Tex-Mex but I was perhaps setting my standards a bit too high. The beans were extremely watery to the point the texture was alarming. The rice was fine but lacked any real seasoned flavor. The burrito I had I believe was called the chipotle burrito and, I can't say I'd recommend it. The steak meat tasted like the cheap steak fajita meat from Walmart and had an odd texture that echoed the thoughts of subpar. The sauce was oddly sweet and not well balanced with any of the other ingredients. Lastly the nachos which were 7 dollars were watery beans with cheap hamburger and shredded cheese. They were something I'd expect at a lazy frat house party and not a restaurant. The staff was fantastic at the very least. read more

We loved this place but if you do pick up for Taco Tuesday, the Tacos are swimming in grease. So much so that the shells are soggy and the whole ingredients of the shell falls out. We had quit going there but decided to give one more chance. The taco were a mess. The flautas which are usually shredded this time were just chunks of chicken. We heard good things about this restaurant so we gave it a try. I gotta admit I judge a Mexican restaurant by the chips, queso, salsa, and tortillas right upfront. Chips were kinda stale, queso was alright, salsa was my good but not spicy at all (some might like that!), and tortillas were cold. We live in South Johnson County and have been looking for a new "go to" Mexican place for awhile now - so last week we found Casa Mexico in Belton through a coupon offer and thought we'd give it a try. It took us about 15 minutes to drive to the place - and we will definitely be going back! Key components of a good Mexican restaurant for us: Good Chips and Salsa - (first impressions mean a lot!) - Chips are hot, crisp and fresh . . . and keep coming . . . salsa is such a personal preference thing, we thought it was fresh and flavorful - with a little zing but not too much - ask for the salsa picosa if you want some more heat - mix it with the regular salsa to your taste Good Fajitas - Mrs. and daughter say two thumbs up (or 4 thumbs since they both voted) on the beef fajitas Good Tamales - The tamales are fantastic . . . truly homemade pork tamales that are the perfect balance of masa, pork and spices in my opinion Good Nachos - kids had them - and say very good nachos! A cheap taco special night - Tuesday is .99 cent taco night, and you are not going to believe the choices you get - hard shell, soft shell, ground beef, shredded beef, shredded pork or chicken (no kidding!!) with tomato, lettuce and cheese - tacos are good sized and good! A cheap margarita night - Casa Mexico has Happy Hour 3-6 pm - 1/2 price margaritas every day - Clean - Place is nice and clean - not a big place, but they take pride in the establishment for sure as it is nicely decorated - A happy place Good, friendly service - the wait staff was great - friendly and attentive - they enjoyed joking with/teasing the kids - (7 and 11) - and spoke Spanish with the kids as well - we like that! Reasonable prices - We figure if we will get there in time for a couple of Happy Hour rounds of Margaritas on Taco Tuesday . . . we can feed the family of 4 with drinks for under $25 plus tip - not too bad at all. Regular menu is affordably priced as well - If there was anything negative to mention - getting in to the parking lot might be a challenge the first time you visit - not intuitive and there is a one-way exit that might trick you - but now that we've been there it won't be a problem for us again - so I guess you can ignore my whining . . . I went to Casa Mexico for lunch with coworkers and honestly, I'm practically still full a day later. It's a great authentic Mexican restaurant. The waiters were so nice- attentive, offering advice and answering questions, cracking jokes. The menu has anything you could want on it. And it's all affordable with huge portions. The only thing I wish is that I like my fajitas to come out on a sizzling plater but it was good enough that I'm willing to overlook that. I'll certainly be coming again! read more

We stopped in at 7 pm on a Saturday. We were told that they were "full" and it would be an 8 minute wait. After I pointedly looked at the 6 empty tables in the middle of the room, the hostess said it could be only a couple of minutes... My rating and review is low, because of the "full" explanation- if she said staffing, or something along those lines, it would have gone over better- but to say the restaurant was full, when it clearly was NOT full, just helped me decide to leave. read more

Had good experiences here in the past. Not anymore. A/C didn't work, the lights were turning off and on when we got here, the computers were down. Had zero cash on us. The staff asked to take a picture of my card and charge it later. Wasn't going to do that at all. Waiting for them to resolve this issue or we're about to just leave.
