We wandered in on a Sunday afternoon to this eatery off the beaten path. The place was pretty chill, not super busy. The waitress was friendly and kind, efficient and had suggestions ready when I wasn't sure what kind of meat I wanted on my torta. She recommended asada and I was super happy to choose that. I love recommendations from staff, as I am zero percent picky and really want what they deem the "best" they offer. Our meals were hot, tasty and my girls LOVED the rice and beans. If we're hungry in the area, we'll come back for sure. Apparently they're rebranding, so stop in and give them a try if you haven't in a while! To be honest, my torta was incredible. We've been meaning to try El Tequilazo for a while - we're so glad we finally did! It was absolutely delicious and our new favorite Mexican restaurant. Their chips and salsa is probably the best we've had, we could defintely tell it's made in house with fresh ingredients. Some places have salsa that's way too sweet, but this salsa was perfect and the chips were fresh, not stale. I ordered the Steak Trio tacos with corn tortillas and asked for extra limes. Loved it! The rice and beans were also excellent, which is a nice change because sometimes they can be forgettable other places. My husband ordered the Steak Jalisco (steak and shrimp) and thoroughly enjoyed it too. Service was great! Our server was a very nice lady who did a good job answering my question (did the steak trio come with cilantro/onions - yes it did) and providing quick service. She was attentive and friendly. Ambiance was quiet (we were the first customers of the day shortly after 11:00am on a weekday) but I'm sure they get busier as the day goes on. Already looking forward to our next visit. The food was so delicious! The queso cheese was amazing! Beans and rice well prepared! When you walk in you are greeted with a host that is very quick of service also very polite. Miguel our service was fantastic, I haven't had such great service like his in a very long time! I wish I could've gave that man a $100! Miguel was beyond professional, patient, friendly and proficient. The restaurant is very clean and smells delicious also when you walk in! The enchiladas were fabulous and the steak burrito with the 6 shrimp. My daughter got a hold of it before I could even get a great picture lol. She got the chicken fingers and fries and she said the fries were the best fries that she's had in along time. I would definitely come back! You are also served with chips and salsa ! We have been here several times to dine in. The food has been hit or miss for me, although my husband has always loved his choices. Their deep fried tacos are really great. One thing that brings down my rating is the service. Everytime we have been to dine in the restaurant, the service has always been slow. We did order to go in Cinco de Mayo. Now, I knew they would be slammed so I of course took that in to consideration. They said the food would be ready in 20 mins, but I arrived in 30 mins. They tried to hand me the wrong food 3 times and, after an hour of waiting (Cinco de Mayo? cutting some slack), I did get my food. Unfortunately, it had been in a bag sitting on the counter for 20 mins before they figured it out. And, this was after me saying my name, order, etc over and over. When I checked it out, we were missing items. I paid for what I received and left after being there for an hour at the bar. I hate it, because I love to support local, but not sure we will return. read more

If you're looking for authentic Mexican food, this is not the place. Food is definitely a fail. Trio enchiladas are horrible. White sauce bland. Cheddar sauce...yes they put cheddar sauce on the enchilada enough said And red sauce was super salty. Black beans had full Chile de árbol. Queso with chorizo was suuuuper salty. Husband got huarache with pastor. The pastor is far from pastor it was literally seasoned pork. Grabbed a burrito kids meal for our son. Definitely not kid friendly. Can't hold it. As a parent when you get a kids meal you want something they can pick up on their own. Burrito was just a long taco with ground beef in it. Being Hispanic I had higher expectations from a restaurant ran by Hispanics. In other words if you don't have any expectations for Mexican food this is the place for you. read more

I've only been here once, so I can't speak to all of their food obviously, but I had such a great experience I had to give five stars. I had the taco salad with steak. The bowl was perfectly crispy with a tiny bit of crumble (NOT just a giant tortilla chip), and the fillings were perfectly balanced. The flavors were what you would expect, but there was nothing that overpowered the meal. I honestly often find restaurants with too much cilantro or spice, or smothered in cheese so that you can't taste the food. This was not the case here. It was just....perfect. I also had the tiramisu for dessert (shared because you get a GOOD portion for your meal). To be fair, I'd only ever had this in Italian or combo restaurants before, but this was easily my favorite tiramisu overall. The espresso was subtle, and there was a stronger presence of caramel in this one. I just loved that. They also have a kid menu that is friendly for kids who aren't necessarily used to Mexican food. There are a couple options that are pretty universal. Our server was also very nice. He taught my son a few Spanish words and was so sweet and patient with him! That man must be a family man! His smile said all I needed to know about that place. We were there for a simple lunch, but I know I'll go back again. And hopefully now more people will go there too! read more

My husband and I have been here a couple of times before. The food has normally been very good and the service had always been spot on up until today.
