If you eat here, buyer beware! When we paid, the cashier told us something was wrong with the credit card machine so she had to run it herself. Well she stole our credit card info and charged a bunch of stuff on the card!! When we tried to call and confront they hung up on us!! Someone needs to investigate! My friends and I stopped by after visiting Toccoa Falls. We were not disappointed. It's in the Wal-Mart shopping center lot. We arrived in time for lunch. I ordered the El Parian lunch special. It's grilled chicken, shrimp, and onions with a side avocado salad, tortillas. You have a choice of rice and beans. The chicken was seasoned to perfection. My mom ordered the burrito and tamale. It was average, but filled with meat. My friend had the chicken burritos. She liked them but was expecting them to have beans, too. I also ordered a small frozen margarita. They didn't skimp on the tequila and it was only $4.95. It was a good size for a small. Winning! I would caution you to keep an eye on your bill. We were charged the normal prices instead of lunch and had to bring that to the cashier's attention. If in the area again, I would definitely return. read more

By far one of the best Mexican restaurants I've been to which, as a native of Los Angeles, provided me a few firsts during my dining experience. 1) Al the frozen Marga-Rona was AMAZING - unfortunately the one drink became plural, I believe I had 3. 2) The Nacho experience was just that - AN EXPERIENCE with 3 amazing meats including the BIG ASS SHRIMP which were fire. The owner here is friendly and has a very dynamic personality. He usually greets most people as they walk in the door, so you'll probably meet him off the bat. The other personnel are a hit or miss, usually lacking a smile and somewhat a hit or miss on attentiveness as well. The food here is average Mexican fare. On occasion things come out better than average and on a few occasions not average. It seems this inconsistency for me is landing it on a 3 star, I can't name you a dish that is outstanding here, just get the usual you would normally go for at a Mexican restaurant. read more

We stopped in for a quick lunch at the Toccoa location and we were very pleased. Staff was very pleasant and attentive. Restaurant was very clean and well decorated. We had to laugh though because we counted 8 half gallon jugs of hand sanitizer sitting around the entire restaurant - glad they promote clean hands. Their portions sizes were amazing, even the lunch specials. We found the food excellent. Their chicken was very well seasoned and the guacamole was very good. If you like hot sauce, ask for their homemade spicy salsa. It's excellent. All in all - we would highly recommend ElParian. read more

My kids and I come here to eat often. Only once did they charge me for lemons (I get unsweetened tea always), but they corrected the problem next time we went. We came Toccoa for business and were looking for a place to have lunch. Everything we looked up seemed "meh" but some locals told us about this place... wow!! The BEST Mexican restaurant I've ever eaten and I'm Mexican from Texas so I know authentic. I had the chicken soup and was surprised at the amount of chicken and quality ingredients- avocado, pico, rice. My husband got the tacos - crispy chicken and beef. He said the beef could have used salt or cumin, but the salsa made up for it. The bathrooms were super clean (I'm super picky about that) and the staff was super friendly and fast in getting our food out. Hope to be in town again to come back and eat here again. I took the family out for dinner and the consensus was for Mexican Food. We heard good things El Parian Mexican Restaurant in the Walmart Shopping Center. The interior of the restaurant has an authentic Mexican decor with numerous booths and table settings. The staff was professional and customer focused. It really seemed that it was important to them that you were having a quality dining experience. They brought the chips and salsa immediately and kept the chips coming and the drinks topped off. I dined here for dinner last night as I was in town visiting friends in Toccoa. Previously they only had one Mexican restaurant in all of Stephens county to my knowledge. And honestly, I hated that other place but the locals (including my friends) did not seem to have a benchmark to compare it to you so they thought it was great. As I was approaching town on the way in to town earlier that day, I noticed that there was a billboard for the above mentioned Mexican place who was encouraging patronage simply because they had been "serving Toccoa since 1995". That is bunk! If that is all you can pitch then you should realize you are not that good. But now on to how this new "competition" stacks up. Scenery: Has the other place beaten hands down. This was a really nice place. The set up was nice and spacious, the restaurant large enough to where there was no wait on a Saturday night around 8 pm, and had several TV's above the bar area which were fairly easy to view from most anywhere in the restaurant (provided you were not in a booth with your back to them). I really liked the feel of this place. The Staff: The staff was friendly and attentive. However, they did not seem to pay attention to detail very well. There were 4 of us in our party and they messed up 2 of the 4 orders. They also kept bringing out chips that were all crushed up. I asked them if they could locate some chips that weren't all crushed up and they ended up getting it correct finally. The other mistakes that they made on the orders were fixed in a prompt fashion, and with an apologetic attitude, so it did not end up being a real concern to be honest. The food: This was the tough one. I could tell there was some potential here. However, I ordered a combination platter (taco, burrito, chile relleno) where everything was based on beef. Their beef had enough salt in it that you could probably sit it out for 3 months and still be able to eat it without going to the hospital. I mean it was the most salt I have ever tasted in my entire life. I was surprised I could even put on my shoes this morning there was so much salt. I can ramble on and on and you will never understand how much salt was in their beef. Ridiculous! Having said that, the cheese they use seemed to be very good. Also, the tortilla shell they used to wrap my burrito was really good as was the red sauce they put on it. The chips were pretty good but had zero salt. How ironic is that? I guess they used up all the salt on the beef. The salsa that comes with the chips left a little to be desired but was decent I guess. The price: If it had not had so much salt in the beef, the price would have been really great. At least when comparing to larger chains in the big city. The locals in Toccoa may or may not agree with me on the price. I was a little surprised more people were not in here dining. The verdict, I will give this place the nod over their competition but mainly due to the atmosphere. I will be willing to go back but on the condition of knowing that I would order only chicken based dishes next time. Like I said before, I could tell the potential was there but it was ruined by the excessive salt. The atmosphere and service was good enough though that I really enjoyed my overall experience of dining with my friends. If i ever make it back here I will update my review after having tried the chicken based dishes. read more

This place was amazing. The service was super, the food remarkably delicious, and the restaurant was clean and welcoming. I had the ribeye and mushrooms with rice/refried beans. The steak was seared perfectly without being charred or burnt, the seasoning on it was perfect, just enough to compliment the meat. The mushrooms were fresh and were not cooked to death. Went last night. Food was excellent, (half order Texas fajita nachos) service was spot on, and prices were good. Chips and salsa promptly on the table. Order taken, food came out quickly. My 1/2 portion was plenty to eat (more than I should have) and very tasty. Drinks were kept full and waitstaff very polite. I really don't have anything negative to say. Unfortunately the place was pretty empty, which I hope isn't a sign of things to come. Wonder how the service and food might change on a busier night. This place looks fantastic.. the interior décor (especially the bar) is absolutely high end. The owner has a beautifully designed Mexican restaurant... I is absolutely ashame that is where is ended. We were the second occupied table in the establishment (so it was not full or staff overburdened). We ordered the following: appetizer cheese dip with jalapenos... wife had cheese quesadillas with steak and chicken, daughter had cheese quesadillas, and I had 2 chicken burritos with rice. Chips and salsa arrived right away and we asked again about the cheese dip... "coming right up". 15 mins later I signaled our waitress and she came over and said, "your order will be out soon". I said that is fine but we never got our dip so just please tell the kitchen to take the cheese dip off our order... 5 mins later she comes back to the table with the cheese dip apologizing saying that the dip was in the refrigerator and they had to heat it up. She said sorry and that that there was no charge... No sooner than she had sat down the dip, my wife and daughters dinner arrived... So, I ate chips and cheese dip.. first bite revealed they had not added the jalapenos to the dip (no big deal - it was free right) ... My wife's quesadilla (cheese / steak / chicken) was missing the cheese... "take the cheese dip off our order" must have been relayed as "hold the cheese off the quesadilla"... again no big deal she just poured the "free" cheese dip onto her quesadilla... BUT still no dinner for me yet... Wife and daughter are almost done eating and out comes my order and she sets it down in front of me and I say "these are two ground beef burritos".... And she say's "yes, sir"... I respond with "I ordered 2 chicken burritos"... She looks at her ticket and says "Well I wrote down chicken"... I told her just cancel my order and I will get something up on the way home... she said, "I can have them make you two chicken burritos"... I responded with "please don't, my wife and daughter are done eating and I am not going to have them sit around and watch me eat, please bring our check we are done here". She stays gone and guess what... 10 mins later she comes out of the kitchen with 2 chicken burritos on a hot plate and sits it down in front of me.... I look at her and say, "I told you not to do this - I was not going to make my family wait and watch me eat- I told you I wanted to leave and asked you to bring me my check... Instead you made me wait 10 extra mins and did what I asked you kindly not to... and after all this I still don't have my check... She responded by yanking up the plate... storming off (pist)... came back and slammed the check down on the table.... HERE IS THE BEST PART... her order ticket was stapled to the register total... you guessed it.. my burritos were listed as "Beef"... Sad part is the waitress did not understand why we had an issue. 1. Cheese dip was forgotten 2. Cheese dip was wrong when it got there 3. Wife's Cheese / steak /chicken quesadilla was missing the cheese 4. My order came when everyone else was almost done eating 5. My order was wrong when it finally arrived 6. If you like playing Russian roulette try this place. Bad service , but there nice about it. Food is not bad but not worth the trouble. - First visit : Told waitress I was taking kids to bathroom. Came back and table was cleared off. Waitress blamed another employee stating she doesn't speak English. Food reordered so we waited. It came out wrong. I mean like someone else's order wrong. I told the waitress and she told us it would be free so we ate it and left. - second visit : Thought we would try it again. It was Friday night and they were kinda busy. Waited 10 minutes for a menu and 15 to order drinks and food. 45 minutes later , no food. Daughter need to go to bathroom. Waited 10 minutes outside the girls bathroom while employee kids played in the stalls. Back at the table , still no food. Waitress kept saying it was coming. Waitress comes back to the table and says foods ready. I told ok then go get it. Waitress goes to kitchen and another employee comes out and to our table. She tries whispering that she was sorry for the wait and there is a problem with the order. We ordered three tacos , kids chicken tenders and the special. Nothing to difficult. 1 hr and 20 minutes later we walked out with no food and two hungry and tired kids. Want make that mistake again. Please go anywhere else but here. read more

We have eaten at the restaurant twice before. It was okay but far from good. Our daughters wanted to go there for lunch today and since we were right across the street from the location, we gave in and said we would give it one more chance. That was a HUGE mistake. There were many things to complain about, not being seated right away even though there were plenty of tables. Our food going to a different table, when our waiter saw this, he and the person with our food started arguing about who had messed up the ticket. One of our daughter's order being wrong, running out of drinks, etc., etc. BUT, the WORSE thing was me watching the bus boy sneeze eight feet in front of me and not even trying to cover his nose/mouth. This would have been gross anywhere and anytime but to have it happen so close to our food during flu season was just too much. And it wasn't a little achoo. This was a full on, grown man, full of mucus, flying in a large radius in front of him. I told my husband and girls what I just witnessed and just couldn't bring myself to eat anymore. And I had just started eating so my plate was still full. Then the girls said they couldn't eat anymore either. I called a waiter over to our table and asked for the manager. He said the manager wasn't there so I told him what had happened. He apologized and said he would go speak to the guy. About this time, our waiter came with the check. I told my husband we were not paying for the food we couldn't eat but would pay for our cheese dip, wings and drinks. The girls were embarrassed so they asked if they could go to the car. I told their dad to take them and I would deal with the check. My husband said for me to go with them and he would take care of it. Well, 15 minutes later he comes out to the car and says they got the manager on the phone and he insisted we pay the entire check. The manager first said that I didn't see anything, and then said he watched him on camera and the guy was five tables away from me. He threatened to call the police if we didn't pay at least half the check. My husband only wanted to pay for the items we consumed. However to avoid having to deal with the police over this, he paid half the check. I am appalled by this entire incident and will make it my civic duty to inform as many people as I can. If they are not teaching the staff on proper etiquette and health safety rules better than that, I fear what is going on in the parts of the restaurant I can't see. read more
