Great Mexican food. It's not authentic but it's good. The tacos are as close to authentic as you will get here. The service has always been good for us. They have great tasting guacamole and pico de Gallo. It's a little pricey for a small town. Usually about $11 or more per person when you include your drink. There tacos are really good! I always order guacamole and pico with mine. We have been eating here for several years and the food is consistently the same. Some of the staff have been here since the store opened when it was located in front of bi-lo grocery store. Stop by for some good Mexican food if your in the Royston area. It's located inside of the dills grocery store shopping center.

Royston, GA may not be the culinary mecca you may think it is, but there are a handful of tasty spots to check out for a good meal with friends. Our familial group of 10 gathered at El Manzanillo for lunch. The restaurant is really cozy. We sat at the communal table in the middle, but the rest of the restaurant is primarily cozy booths big enough for six people. Not a bad thing when you want to grab a few margaritas. The table was already set with large baskets of chips across the table settings. The salsa was really good, too. I don't necessarily judge a restaurant based on their chips and salsa, but these were pretty telltale of a good meal. For my entree, I ordered the California Burrito with chicken. It was full of flavorful and spiced chicken, rice, beans, guac, and the rest of the the typical fixings. It was a massive burrito, too. It took up the length of the lengthy plate it was served upon. I really enjoyed it all. Though, next time I would ask to have all of the queso on the side instead of atop my burrito. It was really nice to see how caring the staff was, too. My wife and ordered the chile relleno and they came out with beef within and on top. We mentioned to the server that we didn't know theirs would be served with beef, so he took the plate back and brought back a version without beef. They were so nice about it and they totally didn't have to be. Really glad to see this. El Manzanillo has my vote for a meal next time we're in the area visiting family.

Just me....and 2 other people. Been here once before I can't remember if it was good. The chips are fresh

The chips are good. Salsa is very bland taste like tomato sauce They have your redneck beers on tap. Coors light bud light miller light etc. Although the drinkers of beer around here are rather heavy...oops The booths are high back so private. The servers are VERY nice. Friendly and easy going The beef enchilada...ouch pretty bad The tamale it is pork and very good. I asked for spicy and loaded this dark brown poop looking sauce and it was spicy heavy and really good. The rice..just regular The beans are really good I am here once a year for a men's volleyball game at Emmanuel college. This is my #Emmanuelwaterhole... see you next year El Manzanillo

Quality food for a good price. Staffing was a little amateur today, but the food more than outdoes it.

This was our first time coming in. It is nice to see another Mexican restaurant in town…read more We were promptly greeted and seated as we walked in the door. Our server came right over and got our drink orders. And then we were given chips and two bowls of salsa. The salsa is not spicy at all but was thick and full of tomato flavor. It was tasty. I ordered the pollo con crema. Sliced chicken in a creamy cheese sauce. The sauce was thick and rich and the chicken was tender. The portion size was very large. My mother tried the Burrito Texano. It had chicken and shrimp in it (not sure if other meat too but I think there might have been steak in it) as well as green peppers. It was large. She said it was tasty. I had a medium sized frozen strawberry margarita. The flavor was very good but it definitely wasn't strong. But that works for me because I'm not a big drinker. My mother and sister had regular margaritas. They also said the flavor was great but definitely not a strong drink. We had a great experience. The prices were very reasonable. The place was very clean. Food came out fast and was delicious. We will be back.

It was quickly prepared and brought to the table. As it was delivered along with the toppings, rice and beans we began to notice the myriads of flys that were bombarding our plates! They were relentless. Landing constantly on our food. The fajitas were ok. The onions and peppers were cut quite small. And there were plenty on the plate. Our server never returned to the table to check on us. We asked another server for a container to take the leftover home. She said ok but never returned with the container. Finally the original server brought the container and the check. I wouldn't go back because of the flys and the service. The food was ok but could use a little finesse. The ambiance was nothing to really comment about. The staff could take some lessons on politeness and customer service. We don't live there so we will not return.

An excellent little store and food counter in Lavonia!…read more They have the best tacos I've had in the area (and the al pastor tacos are as good as I've ever had). Bonus? Most of the tacos (with doubled soft corn shells) are only $1.50! My kids love the chicken quesadillas ($8). The green sauce that comes with it (in a container) is just the right flavor/spice (they also have limes with them and garnish with radishes... it works!). Another bonus? They sell the premixed al pastor by the pound (along with other meats). We bought a few pounds yesterday for taco night (on a Monday). It was excellent. The selection of tacos, burritos, etc. is really good (including guts and tongue; there's a photo of the menu here on Yelp). No fish, vegetarian, or vegan, though. The store has exactly the kinds of things you'd hope for. The last bonus? The service is friendly and efficient. I go there every Sunday. I've never seen it empty and it caters to all our local folks with joy. Keep it up Los Gomez and God bless you!

We went twice and had a few different dishes (Fajitas, Quesadilla & Texas Dip) and they all were great. The Texas Dip was a meal in itself and I loved it. The real star is the staff - they were all amazing and it's obvious they have fun at their job which is rare to see. A special call out to the Bartenders, as we sat at the bar both times - they were so kind and helpful. If we lived in the area this would be a regular stop for us.. sadly we live about 8 hours away. To anyone in Commerce, I highly recommend it for a fun, casual, delicious and fairly priced meal.

When placing our order, we asked if the shrimp in the Pollo à la Piña could be replaced with an extra side of chicken. Our server said we would be charged an additional fee for the chicken, which we understood--but he also refused to remove the cost of the shrimp we were not getting. When we questioned this, his response was simply, "that's not how it's done." We let it go and continued with dinner. About 30 minutes went by, and our server never checked on us once. When we needed the bill, we had to ask another waiter to find him. Even then, it took another 15 minutes, during which our server walked past our table visibly upset and ignored us--even when I politely tried to get his attention. When he finally brought the check, he said nothing. After running the card, he returned and literally tossed the receipt onto the table without a single word--not even a "thank you" or "good night." It was a very disappointing experience. The restaurant itself has great potential, and it's clear a lot of effort went into the remodel. However, service like this overshadows everything. As a business owner, I understand how challenging operations can be--but as a customer, this level of service is simply unacceptable. Unfortunately, we won't be returning
