Best carne asada and Pastor burrito in town. Their tortillas are home made, fresh and amazingly good! Everything is always made to order! With that being said, it does take a very long time to get your food. It is worth the wait, and we always know to order ahead of time!! So if you have the time it's worth the try!!! read more

Homemade tortilla was the best tortillas that i have ever had, and Tortas was also nice. Recommend to my friends to go for Tortillas.

Definitely had better Mexican food elsewhere. Salsa tasted like Cholula mixed with green chilis. Relleno tasted like a deep fried chili - little cheese in it. On a positive note, the meat enchilada was good. The meat had great flavor, with a hint of chipotle. I was ready to give this place 5 stars till my entree arrived. My appetizer, tostada especial for $5 was awesome. The tortillas, chips and salsa, and service are good. But my carne fajitas were a letdown for $12. First off the the beef strips you expect on a carne asada fajita were more like beef bits. Good salsa! Decent homemade tortillas, and delicious pastor. Asada was bad - mushy and flavorless (almost tasted boiled). Same for the chicken. I was excited to get fish tacos because of a picture on Yelp. They had the tiniest sliver of fish and weren't tasty at all. It didn't quite set in just how bland everything (except pastor) was until we left. Pretty disappointing, as we felt the need to find a good taco after leaving. The ONLY thing missing from this place is a SALSA BAR! The salsa they serve has a tomato soupy taste to it, which really doesn't go good on tacos or burritos. I do however love the freshly made tortillas. They are easily the best and most authentic in Lompoc! Fish tacos are excellent and the meats are deliciously seasoned. Overall, I'd easily rate this place 4 stars but not having a salsa bar, for me, makes all the difference. I really hope the restaurant owners read this review and add a salsa bar there in the middle of the restaurant where it's pretty empty. read more

I would love to get a comment on the food but never received my order. Arrived at 5:55 PM and left at 7:38 PM never receiving our dinner. It wasn't even made as we were leaving. Worse place ever to try and sit down and relax with three hungry kids who have no patience. The waitress was very nice though. Would never waste my time coming to eat here again! read more

Actually, not too bad! I didn't know much about it except for driving past it almost every day when I lived in the area. I honestly wish I had known about it prior to my move away, I probably would have frequented more often. I was attending a class at the community college in Lompoc and a group of about 8 of us went for lunch on a Thursday. Going into it, I didn't expect much and I was pretty dang hungry, but I was a bit worried we would be late back to class. Not only were we NOT late, but they made sure to work quickly and bring us our food as it was ready. The portions were generous and the food was solid. I had a wet carne asada burrito and a fish taco. Again, the food good, but not spectacular. I will say that I am spoiled having spent a lot of time in and around Los Angeles eating Mexican food. The staff was really friendly and they wanted to do everything for us, which was awesome. read more

we used to love this place, homemade tortillas well seasoned meat, whats not to love? Unfortunately, after their "renovation" which in reality a suspected owner change the service has plummeted! Upon initial walk in the entire kitchen and restaurant was engulfed in smoke, I understand that may happen from time to time with an overly large influx of customers but the place was not terribly packed and really your duct system should able to handle it. we sat down made our order and asked for some more chips, salsa and guacamole. 10 min later we got chips, no salsa nor guac. During this time we saw another table get more chips and salsa who had asked after we had. We notified the girl that we were still waiting...another 10 minutes went by with nothing but another table getting more. 40 minutes had gone by and we had yet to receive our salsa and guacamole nor our food. We had ordered some enchiladas, and two burritos and a taco, im sorry but these items are not heavily complicated dishes and should not take 40 min. In all we were there for about 60 min with three glasses of water one tray of chips and salsa to show for it, even if the food is still good which I have heard is not the case the service and overall restaurant is absolutely horrendous, unfortunately we will not be returning to what once was one of our favorited restaurants. this restaurant probably just became my go to for mexican food. i finally had something more than just a michelada or shrimp cocktail. i had an asada burrito and i'm super picky with burritos. THE BEST i've ever had by far. the tortillas are homemade and the asada is cooked perfectly and cut nice. would 10/10 recommend going here to eat read more

My favorite Mexican restaurant by far in Lompoc and we have plenty of choices! They have the best homemade tortillas in town and my favorite is the bean and cheese burrito with guacamole inside! They make the guacamole fresh to order everytime and it is perfect! The restaurant isn't really that nice inside, but you can take it to go or just sit and enjoy the yummy food! The shrimp burrito is delicious and huge, you definitley get your moneys worth. read more

Love this family and their restaurant. They are always so friendly and the food is always fresh and good. I always get mini burritos(chili verde or pastore) and guacamole. Both are great with the perfect mix of flavors. If you haven't tried El Palmar, you need to go and support this local family restaurant. read more
