Chips and salsa with some beans.
Alma P.

Service was great, ambient was very pleasant. We came for lunch and we saw that they serve chilaquiles. If you know me you know I love chilaquiles. My friend got the same but green salsa. I got the red ones. I don't think they used fried tortillas. They were too soft and soggy. Usually they are fried first and then dip in salsa. They were just plain. I do t know if I will be back because this is in Visalia far away from home. They water was purified I was grateful for that. My friend said the same thing about her green chilaquiles. She did mention that the Jamaica drink she got was great. The bathrooms are clean and there have plenty of room to seat inside. They have music and TV.

Great to see this great old spot coming back. Friendly family run business and you can feel it in the service and taste it in the food. Plenty of room for large parties and authentic old Mexico vibes. I had the 3 enchilada dinner and they were perfect. The beans that come in the side and with the chips and salsa are the real star here! Great prices and delicious food, I will be back!

Had a celebration in their back room and it was good! The staff was very accommodating and they had another party plus customers coming in. The bar was friendly and variety of drinks! I will say their food is flavorful also, the Owner and his family were amazing. Wishing them the best in the business!!

Delicious home cooked Mexican enchiladas, rice and beans. The enchiladas were made with two different enchiladas sauces a red and green. Corn tortillas made in the restaurant. The rice fluffing and tasty. Give El Nuevo Presidente a try, a family owned restaurant. Rafael our sever was funny and took good care of us.

Service was absolutely incredible. Rafael and Wendy were so kind and welcoming they truly made us feel at home from the moment we walked in. We came for lunch and had the taquitos, homemade guacamole, and chilaquiles, and wow... every bite was out of this world. They start you off with warm homemade chips & salsa and bean dip. You can genuinely taste the love and care put into the food. It's hard to find really good Mexican food in the Central Valley, so we were beyond excited to discover this place. The staff truly wants you to be happy and enjoy your meal, and you can feel that love in both the service and the food. We can't wait to come back!

Carnitas plate with no rice double beans. Delicious!

Back again Yelp. I tried the carnitas plate. Omg so delicious. And the portion was really large. My wife had Pozole and really liked it. The staff as always is friendly. The restaurant is clean and large. They have a tv on with sports and music in the background. Always an enjoyable experience. I highly recommend giving them a try.

Mojarro Frito (whole fried fish) in an amazing garlic sauce...

The wife and I drive around on Saturday mornings with the Yelp app open, while searching for a new spot, a possible "Gem" in the Visalia area. Last Saturday November 8th was not a disappointment. We chose El Nuevo Presidente on Santa Fe street. From the moment we walked into other door till the very moment we exited this fine establishment, we were greeted and treated to some of the finest and gracious service I've seen in a long time in my 60 years. The menu had many great selections, with great prices as well. My wife ordered menudo, and decided to try the mojarro frito (whole fish) in an amazing garlic sauce. Our meals were very tasty, so tasty we order two soups to go. Albondigas & Caldo de camerone (shrimp soup). I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone who wants to experience and enjoy the taste of true authentic Mexican cuisine. El Nuevo Presidente is ""Superb"....

Chile rellanos! Best I've ever had!
Rene P.

This place was amazing. Had the chile rellanos and my friend had the tri tip and ribeye tacos. They were huge! This food is legit and the staff are incredibly kind. Their jamaica was the best I've ever had. Definitely will be back!

Menu

We arrived at 5:30pm on a Tuesday and were seated immediately. We were greeted and given menus. I decided to get the giant tacos and my girlfriend ordered the chicken enchiladas. The tortillas for the tacos were handmade. The ribeye in the ribeye steak taco was seasoned well, not too salty or bland. The Enchilada Plate was also tasty but was too much for my girlfriend to finish, so we took home the leftovers. Restaurant was clean and the music was playing at an adequate volume . They do have a TouchTunes set up. All was fairly priced, we will be coming back.

Quality tacos, meat, and customer service. The girls are fantastic and so kind. Tortillas are homemade and made to order.

My new go to Mexican food spot and I have never had a go-to Mexican spot before. The girls here are so kind and amazing. Very attentive.

Fresh tortillas I saw the lady making them as you walk in .

Pick up was fast and easy Menudo , freshly made tortillas all the fixings not shown in my menudo, side of beans . Every time I eat here died not disappoint. Delicioso! Come eat here everyone is very nice and polite also good coffee and had the chilequiles and chile rellenos, nice atmosphere. Come out and eat here Visalia you will not be disappointed.

Been a long time since wifey and I had a lunch date. We usually try some place we've never tried before. This place did not disappoint! The food was not only delicious but it was ready and on our table super quick. The lunch special prices were perfect. Maggie was super nice and her service was excellent. I highly recommend this place.

Poor seafood flavor and quantity. Misleading portions and lack of flavor in shrimp sauce. Bread in tortas too hards and feels old.

Once you arrive to the front of the hotel, they have parking on the left side of the building across the street which is specifically reserved for the Elderwood. It's not even a minute walk to the hotel. Once inside the concierge was very friendly and explained how to get there. You take the elevator up to the restaurant. The hotel itself was very charming, like going back in time but in style. The main elevator doesn't take you up straight to the restaurant, you can choose to walk up the stairs or take another elevator that's located on the right side. It's just 2 more floors up. We walked up the stairs and I'm glad we did, we were able to see the waiting area with some older pictures of the hotel. As well as the entrance into the restaurant. The servers were friendly and kindly let us know that we would be next to be seated. We chose to seat outside, they had small table heaters on the sides and we chose a table right next to the view. The view was fantastic.!! I was glad that our reservation was bright and early, we were able to watch the sunrise and have a couple of mimosas. The food; was delicious.!! Not only looked nice but was also very tasty. The mimosas were also fantastic. We got the mimosa flight, which came with 3 mimosas. Highly recommend.! We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon and grabbed seats at the bar. Sam was our server and was fantastic, friendly, attentive, and very knowledgeable about the menu. Her recommendations were spot on. The food absolutely did not disappoint. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Taco Salad, and it was enormous! The tortilla shell was so crispy and well-made that it actually held up for leftovers the next day. The jalapeño ranch had the perfect amount of heat and flavor. We also tried the Drunken Chicken Sandwich. Sam recommended getting it breaded, and I'm glad we listened. The homemade breadcrumb coating was light, crispy, and flavorful without being overly thick or salty. For appetizers, we shared the Fried Pork Belly Bites, which were paired with a delicious coleslaw and a sweet Korean-style BBQ sauce, and the Deviled Eggs, which were AMAZING. They came prepared three different ways, making it fun to try each variation. Honestly, I couldn't pick a favorite. Their beer selection was impressive, and I was especially excited to find Crow & Wolf's Dark Wolf Seltzer on tap, one of my favorites and not something you see everywhere. The restaurant was clean, comfortable, and had plenty of character. Even the ladies' restroom had quirky, fun artwork that added a unique touch to the atmosphere. The size and amount of tv's was impressive. If you're looking for a relaxed vibe, great drinks, exceptional service, and food that delivers, I highly recommend checking this place out. We'll definitely be back.

From the moment you walk in, the entire place has an elegant, upscale feel that really sets it apart from your typical dining experience. One of the first things I appreciated was that the restaurant has its own private parking lot, which makes arriving and parking super convenient. When we arrived, there was a pianist playing live music upstairs, which added such a nice touch to the atmosphere. Between the historic decor, classic elegance, and live piano music, the entire restaurant has a sophisticated charm that's hard to find these days. I don't come down anymore cause I'm not one for the local bar scene next door, nor the bar scene within this location towards the back. Plus the parking is atrocious down this part of main. But I do get it delivered and it's never disappointed. My burger always comes hot and fresh, the meat still steaming, the cheese nice and melted and the bun a pillow and soft brioche. You can add whatever you want to your burger with an added surcharge for bacon, egg and some other items. But all the veg is free! Don't sleep on the (Stacked) Sauce, it's the house made sauce that's tangy, spicy and flavorful! Do be warned, it does have a kick! But if you like a little spicy, then it's gonna win you over! Crinkle fries are my "go-to" especially with the Stacked sauce. They have other options like onion rings, curly fries, cheese curds and so on. All look like great options but they definitely are more expensive through delivery around $7 to $8 dollars. Would love to see some shakes out of this place, hopefully one day. You can get a full combo for around $18 and that for the double. Trust me when I say, the burgers are huge! They will fill you up with a single, but if you're really hungry go double! The double is a monster! I called cause I forgot to add my sauces the other day and the girl who answered the phone was so sweet and understanding. She didn't have to help me out but she did and added them to my bag, huge win for that! Truly appreciate this place for the consistency and the quality.

The bar is tucked away at the back of the restaurant, which opens up to more seating. The space does feel a bit sticky and damp at times, so I'd recommend wearing shoes and washing your hands before sitting down. I prefer weekday visits as the bartenders aren't as rushed and the cocktails come out stronger and better balanced. When the drinks are made well, they're actually some of the better ones on the block. As for the food, it's on the pricier side considering how simple it is. I tried the fried mushrooms, zucchini, and pickles. All of them had a similar soft texture and the batter didn't cling too well to the lengthwise cut veggies. The coating was a bit thick and greasy and I wish the ranch had been colder to cut through the richness. Overall, Stacked is a fine place for drinks but I'd probably grab a bite to eat somewhere else first.
