I was so lucky to find this place Christmas Eve, we needed tamales last minute and they had pork, rajas, and two kinds of sweet tamales. The family that owns the restaurant is so sweet and helpful!! The chips and salsa were bomb as well, the salsa was very much home style molcajete and great spice level. I'm glad I discovered this place and will come back to try their other menu items soon!! Fairly new - a few months ago- Angelo's Kitchen is kicking it. The food we tried was excellent. Their chilis relleno were as good as any and way better than most. The service was above excellent, making me feel very pampered and well cared for. Several sauces were served with the warm tortilla chips. The restaurant itself is small, and I believe that when they become more known will eventually be too small. It is as clean as can be throughout. One improvement would be some Mexican music instead of what there was. Whatever it was. The prices are mostly good with one notable exception: I still feel ripped off when I'm charged $4.00 for a cup of soda pop. All in all. We will go back to enjoy another great experience. Going to back on a Saturday, they serve pozole on Saturday. Hope to see you there. read more

Honestly, the two bad reviews on here are duds, and only reviews to pay attention to are 4 stars and above. The food is made fresh; tortillas and chips are a good measuring stick and did not disappoint. My torta was excellent. Service is 5 stars! The place is clean, and the ambience is great. read more

2/26/25 Hot and new! Must check it out!! Arrived! Nice inside. Greeted by kind worker and ordered the Chicken Torta with no sour cream/mayo, extra hot sauce. It comes with fries and I just asked if I could do boiled beans and rice instead. Not a problem. Great! Paid for order snd waited at a booth. Tv up on the wall with Michael Jackson playing and others. "Hot stuff" playing after that. Nice atmosphere. Low key and calm. The worker was great and brought the order to me with well wishes! I am writing this after our 2nd visit to Angelos. Just want to say we could not love this warm wonderful place more. Everyone enjoyed their meals, even the teens. The food was fresh and delicious. The ambiance was really nice and we felt very at home. The service, while not fast food (thankfully!) was really wonderful. Fresh and authentic, it may take a bit longer than you might expect, but it is worth it. The best salsa and chips ever! This place is seriously amazing. Hands down the best Mexican food in town. The wet burrito was the best I've ever had--so flavorful, not greasy, and so authentic. The tacos were just as good especially since they're made with hand made tortillas. You can definitely taste the love in every single dish. But what really makes this place special are the owners. They are some of the kindest, most genuine people, and you can feel the care they put into their food and their customers. I truly wish them nothing but the best. I'd recommend anything on the menu without hesitation. This is officially my new favorite spot, and I'll be back again and again. read more

Man, these guys SAVED THE DAY. Christmas time is typically filled with Tamales. We make them over at my wife's Tia's days before Christmas and have eat them there and take some home. Christmas eve at my wife's dad's house, he usually has ordered some for the family to eat for dinner. But this year, none of that happened for some reason. The day after Christmas my wife was sad and said it just didn't feel like Christmas season for her b/c she didn't get any tamales. I figured that it can't be too hard to find in Visalia around Christmas time, right??? WRONG But Angelo's... man, they saved the day. Not only were they able to work some up for us, but once I got them home and we dug into them, they were delicious! The staff was super friendly too! If I could give 10 stars, I would. We enjoyed our first visit here. I had the two sopes plate with chili verde and asada. The sopes are made by hand. The chile verde was tender and full of flavor. The horchata is so authentic, so good. Definitely recommend but if you are in a time crunch expect to wait a while. I stopped in a little after 11 AM on a Tuesday. There were no patrons in the restaurant. I was immediately greeted by a very friendly woman. I ordered the taco plate with Asada and Carnitas. Excellent food. Went here on a recommendation from family, and it lived up to expectations. Best chips I've had in town--fresh, crispy, tasty. Salsa was flavorful. I would give more stars if I could! We were visiting my sister in Visalia and were looking for a new mexican restaurant to try. I went on google and found Angelo's Kitchen. It had the highest rated stars. The employees are the nicest people we have met! The restaurant was immaculate and decorated so cute! The food was the star though! Our usual place for Christmas Eve tamales just fell short of "meh" last year so this year was time to try something new. SO GLAD WE DID!!!!! I called the day before Christmas Eve, and was able to place a next day order for ALL the things-tamales, rice, beans, and salsa. When I picked up our order, I was immediately greeted by staff, and was surprised/impressed that they greeted me by my name(it was a cautious (correct) guess, but impressed at the attention to the customer)!The tamales were HUGE with TONS of fillings and all the sides were delicious!! The carnitas was "clean" didn't taste like it'd been soaking in a vat of lard all day like most places around. It had good flavor, chicken enchilada and carnitas both were moist and tender. My girlfriend and I came in expecting a bit more, especially with the good reviews, and left feeling disappointed. The food was nothing special and had a lot to be desired. My $15 burrito had nothing but meat, beans, and rice with a scarce amount of grilled onions (which I asked for). But no cheese or anything special and the food was bland in my opinion. Then, there's our service. When we came in there was hardly anyone there. One family seated and that's it. So we place our order and we are told it would be about 15 minutes til our food was out. About 5 minutes after this, another 2 people come in and are seated, and then after a few minutes they are brought chips etc and place their order for dine in. Their food came out SO fast, within like 7-10 minutes. Meanwhile, the girl and I are like huh... so we wait patiently. 25 minutes go by and still nothing, the lady hasn't said anything to us about our food. I'm like okay let me go ask and she says they are "just bagging our food up." Which somehow took another 5 minutes? Overall, our customer experience was super poor, and no compensation for the wait when we spent $45 on our order. Kind of dissapointing. I honestly wouldn't recommend based off our visit as FIRST TIME guests. We had never been there and just felt like we were kind of disregarded which is crazy. read more
