HUGE servings -- my hubby and I usually split one entree and we both end up stuffed. El Nopalito has THE BEST margaritas in town; but watch out... they'll kick your butt! I never order the steak meals. In my experience, beef fajitas, carne asada and the like, are usually made from round steak, which is tough if it's not slow-cooked. Go with the chicken instead. This place is packed most evenings. Here's a dining-out tip for you... you won't go wrong if you eat someplace where the parking lot is full! The locals know what's good! read more

Stopped here for lunch on our way to the Indiana Caverns. Very glad we did! The tortilla chips were still warm and the 2 salsa were excellent! My husband got a HUGE lunch portion of shrimp fajitas that was probably enough for 2. I got the fried chimichanga and it was smothered in queso. The guacamole was FRESH and the lime was quite tart. Our girls had the kids enchiladas and quesadilla and both agreed they were tasty and hot! One plus I was very thankful for was they brought the kids meals our before ours so they could nosh before they got crabby. read more

Fast and friendly. If you have an itch for Mexican food look no further. A Corydon mainstay now for for 25+ years there is a reason for their longevity. Quality food, delivered fast and hot at an affordable price. Gotta get some classic lime and frozen strawberry margaritas and bring a DD because they treat you right! I've come here since I was a kid. For many years we went to the El Nopal in Georgetown, simply because it was closer. Now that we are closer to El Nopalito, it has become our go-to Mexican restaurant. Honestly, I prefer this restaurant over the El Nopal locations. Although the salsa doesn't come in the jars that can refill a bowl or two, I prefer their hot salsa over the other locations. The queso and chips are always a favorite. You can't go wrong with fajitas, combinations, carnitas, Monica's platter, pollo con arroz, and many other dishes. I have a had a few occasions where the chips were a bit overcooked, and I'm not a big fan of their shrimp (tastes a little extra fishy to me, maybe frozen). Sure, it might not be totally "authentic" in some respects, but most ethnic restaurants have a bit of American flare to them anyway. There is something nostalgic about coming here that takes me back to my childhood, and that is always special. read more

Went tonight after reading some reviews. It's always good to try new as everyone's taste is different. Anyway I had a combo plate with tamale, enchilada , beans & rice. The beans were very good as was the tamale , thought I found the cornmeal very thick. The enchilada seemed to be acorn tortilla with cheese ( I did ask for a cheese enchilada) The rice ok. My husband had a combo with a chili reallano . He said the batter was so heavy on the chili he could not taste the chili and there was a lot of cheese in it. Won't be back as there is another local place we've been to on multiple occasions & found that our favorites are better there. read more

We have been to other El Nopals in the area and this is by far our favorite. Service is exceptional and very fast. Food is hot, tasty, and reasonably priced. A lot of the dishes are large enough to split especially if you eat a lot of chips. We love this place. It always hits the spot. read more

Our group stopped in after a 4 day backpacking trip in nearby O'Bannon woods state park. I ordered the carnitas and was blown away. The meat was tender and the portion was large. The sauce on the side was delicious and made the whole meal come together. Others in the group enjoyed their meals too. I will def come back again if I'm in the area. read more

This place is great! But it can sometimes get way too crowded on nights that everyone in town wants a margarita. However, the service is always great! Their salsa is delicious. My husband would eat here every day if I'd let him. I would come everyday for the Margaritas...... frozen raspberry is the best. Their margaritas are the best I've had anywhere, and I am not exaggerating. They don't taste like a 'mix', they're not chalky or watery and they're just the right strength (strong). ha The food is lightening fast- we're normally served in less than 10 minutes and the order is always right.
