Chicken taco salad
Vicki B.

This is one of my favorite Mexican joints, in or near Corydon. Never had a bad meal, never skimpy on portions. My new favorite is the chicken taco salad. But anything I order there is delicious. Service is friendly and fast. The atmosphere is welcoming and it's easy to access. Parking can be a little cramped on busy days.

Food has been so good and every order has had excellent taste and portion size is extra generous. The service is quick and friendly. Drinks are now 3.99, but the margaritas are delicious. Outside seating on picnic tables when weather permits.

Chicken fajitas and a strawberry margarita.

Service is great. Food comes in large portions and is always good and hot. It is hot during the summer but it's always packed.

Love this place. Same staff for at least 15 years. Awesome service, delicious food. Always fresh and hot. Served with a smile. Best carnitas anywhere. Huge portions. Get. You. Some.

Won't go back. Food was ok. Service not so good. We felt like they didn't want to wait on you. Like you were bothering them.

Love this place and though that I enter the review previously but apparently I did not. Our first…read moretime here was last summer coming home from Holiday World and needing to stop to get something to eat with the little man. He ate two tacos and I got the pork carnitas dinner and hubby got the carne asada dinner. We were all stuffed full and happy with our meals. Went for lunch this week when they had their Taco special and you could get any taco for 2. 99 each. I ended up getting three tacos but should have stopped it too because I was way over stuffed. Looking back now I have no idea how little man ate two whole tacos these things were huge! I got the birria taco, carne asada, and the al Pastor. The al pastor was my favorite and had fresh diced pineapple and pickled onions. It was delicious! I also love the sauces they give you. There is a red sauce that's a bit spicy and a green sauce which is a little less spicy. They both add a lot of flavor. I travel here a lot now so this will definitely be a regular stop!

Fairly small taco shop in town. Was very busy Monday at 6:30pm…read more Service was fast. I'd say so so on prices. I expected it to be a little cheaper in Corydon but it was about the same for tacos that I pay in Columbus, OH. The elote however was crazy cheap at -$3 and was fantastic. Chips were so so. Sals was pretty spicy but I like spice and it was good resturaunt thick puree style. Taco al pastor was terrific. Pork was well seasoned and juicy tender. Toppings and corn tortilla were awesome. Beef hard shell taco was so so. The shell was great and you could tell made in house. The beef had no flavor. My two biggest issues: the taco was tiny. They serve in laying on its side. So I had to reassemble it. Beer was cold and reasonable price. Overall would recommend and visit again.

Extremely Disappointing Experience at El Nopal - Corydon, IN…read more We've been loyal customers of El Nopal for over 25 years, visiting our previous location at least twice a week. The service and food have always been excellent, and any small issue was handled quickly and professionally. Unfortunately, our recent visit to the Corydon location was the complete opposite of what we've come to expect. We were seated quickly, but it took about 10 minutes before anyone came by to greet us or take our drink order. Interestingly, that person wasn't even our server but someone temporarily helping out from another El Nopal location that recently closed due to a fire. After our drinks arrived, we ordered our meals. Then we waited--and waited. Tables around us received their food, finished eating, and were reseated with new customers who also received their food promptly. Meanwhile, we still hadn't been served. Diners nearby even commented that they had waited an hour and a half for their food as well. When our meals finally came, mine arrived first, but my companion's took another 10-15 minutes. To make matters worse, the utensils we were given had visible food particles stuck to them. When I finally located a hostess (since our server was nowhere to be found), she brought us clean utensils--but my companion's were also dirty and had to be replaced again. By the time we finished, we were extremely disappointed. At checkout, I asked to speak with a manager to share our concerns, but the person I spoke to claimed to be the manager and said he couldn't understand my English. After years of being devoted customers, this was a truly disheartening experience. We hope management at this location takes this feedback seriously and works to improve the quality of service and cleanliness so that it matches the high standards we've always known and loved from El Nopal.
