We were passing through the area from Texas and thought we would risk trying a local Mexican restaurant. I saw the good reviews and Daniels was close, and they did not dissapoint. While the spice level was not quite as high as what we would expect in our local spors, the foid was very good. My benchmark dish is chicken mole enchiladas and they were very good, with a generous portion of nice shredded chicken and rich mole sauce. The nachos were also first rate, and theyvsrrve a goid margarita too. The server was prompt and friendly. They were quite busy and lively on a Friday night, but the noise level wasnt obnoxious. read more

Stopped on a roadtrip home from FL. Restaurant has plenty of parking and is spacious inside. The complimentary chips and salsa were an excellent start. I had the 5 enchilada meal ($15) and it was so good. Way too much food, but I managed well. My husband had the guidos puerco pork dish and he loved it. Premium margarita was very good. Service was prompt and friendly. Locals are lucky to have such a great Mexican restaurant nearby. read more

What a gem of a find! Just arrived in Shepherdsville staying for a couple of days to see Fort Knox, and dropped by for lunch. Flavors are a little different from the Tex mix. we're accustomed to in Texas and we loved every bit of it, highly recommend. Wonderful atmosphere, prompt, attentive, and friendly service. I almost hate to give this place a five star review. Not because it doesn't deserve it...but because it might draw more people to it. This place is sooo good. Staff is amazing. Portion sizes are huge! As a family I think we have tried every variation of steak on the menu. The seasoning on the steak is so good. And I have one child that only eats chicken, she has lived every chicken dish she has tried. I normally get black beans because they are super flavorful, but I forget to tell them last time and the refried beans are good. I mixed them with my rice and a little salsa and was really happy with that combo. I am just not a refried beans kinda gal. Ok so, Daniels Little Mexico has been on my radar for quite sometime. I suggested to a co-worker that we come here on a weekend but, earlier in the day. If you follow them on Facebook, you will see it is a full house during dinner. We went on a rather chilly December day. It is located in Shepherdsville close to the cluster of many other fast food restaurants that you see from I-65. It is in a shopping center with other stores. Now going in, this place is actually bigger than what I anticipated. It seemed small from their Facebook lives. We did get service in a timely manner. I just ordered a combo that consisted of beef enchilada, refried beans, and a crunchy beef taco. I only had the house Margarita and a water. There were a few of us in the group and what stood out to me was the margarita flight with the patron bottles. I didn't try any of that but, maybe next time. My food was quite delicious. The enchilada had the right amount of beef and red sauce topped with cheese. Refried beans could always use more cheese. The taco well, I devoured that in a few bites, always loaded with more meat and cheese than Taco Bell (no offense). We did not get to see Daniel himself during this visit and what's interesting is that he was a manager at El Nopal on Dixie Hwy close to the Watterson some years ago. I'm happy that he has his own restaurant and will be opening another location in the Shepherdsville area probably this year. This was a rather good experience and this definitely helped my Mexican Food fix. I'm always up for trying New Mexican restaurants and this will be in the books. read more

The place was packed when we got there. I got a house margarita and a beef quesadilla. My quesadilla didn't really have any cheese and there was a lot of liquid from the beef. Daniels little Mexico is a Mexican restaurant located in Conestoga shooing center in Shepherdsville Kentucky . A friend and I stopped in here the other night to check the place out. Pretty large and spacious inside. Very nice and well down decor surrounds the place and outs of a great colorful vibe. The detail in the tables, benches and chairs are amazing. All woodwork and appeared to be hand painted with a lot of them dining the name of the establishment. We were sat down immediately and received very nice and friendly service. You get the customary complimentary chips and salsa to start with. Chips had very good taste as did the salsa. I'm more of a mild sauce guy but my friend enjoys the spicy and said that unlike most Mexican establishments the spicy sauce here actually has a nice kick to it. For our entrees one personally went with Pollo Caribe which is a cheese enchilada with grilled chicken and queso in a bed of rice with shrimp and plantains as well. Everything on my plate had good flavor. Queso nice and thick with a good taste and chicken cooked correctly with nice flavor. My fiend ordered a Torta al pastor which is evidently a traditional Mexican sandwich that he orders at a lot of places. I'm not too familiar with exactly what it is but he said this is one of the better Torta Al Pastor he has tasted. So if you are familiar and like them then evidently you should try little Daniels take on the dish. Overall this is Avery nice establishment with a large menu, good vibe and lovely decor. Vibe seems upbeat and lively. They had a guac cart floating around where workers was among guac at tables which seemed to be a huge success and draw and garner attention. So pretty cool Concept. This place was fantastic. We will never go back to El Napal again. El Napal has got we're they are pre made and your food comes out with in minutes of ordering. Daniels you could tell was fresh made. The servers were attentive but not overbearing. This was our second time here and have not had a bad entree yet. The mild and hot salsa is good and fresh. Yummm! Stopped here on a long road trip instead of hitting a fast food spot and so glad we did. Service was speedy so it didn't slow us down too much in our day. We split the Daniel's chicken Cancun, which was more than enough for two people. So much good flavor, came out hot, along with the warm tortillas. This is a relatively new restaurant to our county, but definitely worth making it a stop of yours to eat. They built one in Shepherdsville and it was getting so much business. they built another one down at the very next exit off of 65S. Truly prepared good Mexican food. My only complaint is misunderstanding why a senior citizen who doesn't eat as much as they used to is required to charge an up charge to fix a child's meal. I do not understand it. They're using the same size plate, the same silverware, the same glasses, the same napkins, etc. so I cannot understand it and I'm glad all the restaurants where I eat do not do that. We spent our last night in town at Daniel's Little Mexico and it did not disappoint. 7 of us split queso, guacamole, salsa and chips, 3 of us split a pitcher of house margaritas - the margs were fantastic and went down easy as hell. As the food came out it looked great - it didn't last long on plates, which speaks volumes. I ordered the 'Taco Fajita' with steak - and holy shit it was great. Came with a side of rice, beans, and salad for $14.95. I had to force myself to stop - it was friggin' delicious. It's been about 6mo since we gave gone to eat there. I'm a german/Irish heritage lady and I can cook Mexican. better. Rice dry and was not seasoned at all. Tamales was doughy Husband got enchiladas and they where just hamburger wrapped in tortilla shells with hot sauce on top not cook in over at all. You all can do better. Best new food around !!! I've traveled all over and immediately thought this was the best franchise restaurant I had been in. Thing is it's FAMILY owned and not even a franchise company. We visited this place shortly after it first opened. We had very good service and excellent food. What we noticed about their food was that everything was extremely fresh. All the meat and produce were good quality. We got the chori queso dip to share and really liked it. It was extremely hot and still bubbling when it came out. My sister ordered the nachos with beef. She loved them and raved about how good they were. My mom got two burritos and liked them. They were smaller than what I normally expect from a burrito like at qdoba. But there were two, so it was plenty of food. I got the chorizo and chicken dish. It had plenty of spicy chorizo, lots of queso dip, and a good helping of rice. The piece of chicken I got was huge and cooked well. I do wish the chicken had been cut into small bites. Our server was a sweet young man who was bussing about everywhere and serving all of his tables well. He was very good and very friendly. We visited here while driving home on I-65. It was located in a strip mall right off the interstate and the yelp reviews gave us confidence to try it! It was fairly traditional Mexican food (in the US). I got the super burrito with chicken and it was a solid meal. My mom and I split the elote corn and it was definitely the best part of the meal.
