The service was top notch from all of the staff, the atmosphere and location are great, and our food+drink was truly amazing! For the stellar quality of the food they serve here, the prices are without doubt very reasonable. This place is an absolute treasure, and I cannot recommend it enough that you come visit during your time here in southern Spain!

The live music was really good, not overly loud. But the food was mediocre at best. Or maybe it was just what we ordered because the place was full by 9 pm?? I ordered the osso bucco, yes, maybe a risky choice in Spain. But I was tired of fish and this place did "specialize " in Italian. NOT GOOD! It came out spelling of marinara, first clue that it was not good. Osso bucco should Not be smothered in Marinara sauce! But I tried it anyway. The meat was cold, microwaved probably, and hot marinara poured over it. Took a few bites, don't recommend! My husband ordered the grilled octopus. It was warmed up somehow, but I wouldn't call it grilled Nice presentation on the octopus, the sweet potato mash was good. Overall a disappointing night in a beautiful town.

We order drinks and a plate of olives followed. We started with a delicious cup of fish soup, not on the menu, Caldo de Pintaroja. Next came the famous Gambas a la plancha( shrimps on the grill) deliciously fresh. Chanquetes de Campo, shaved and lightly fried egg plant, super tasty, fried to perfection . Some croquettes, with fries and aioli mayonnaise and a tapa portion of tripe all very good. My favorite were the Bolo shells. Never heard, nor ate them before , being of lover of shell fish, I could not wait to taste them. If you like Oysters you will love these, plumper than an oyster, maybe not as big, but it fell oh so good in your mouth, an explosion of taste. Conchas finas, were also delicious and super fresh! Two different after dinner drinks were offered on the house as well as a plate with mini bonbon like chocolate frozen ice cream. Quality of food is superb, price reasonable. We will definitely go back.

Each Bolo was 2.50€, but I have to say they tasted great and tasted less sea-like than most shell fish I've had. A little lemon on top and I was a happy camper! I had two, but my friend was over the moon so she ordered a total of 4. We were left hungry afterwards, but we were glad we got to try some shell fish in this wonderful port city! Overall, pricey and hidden from most of the people watching, but the shell fish was fresh and service was nice.

Is it weird I like a sangria but I don't like wine. Anyway I digress.... The sangria was fruity and just the way I like it. After several hours of exploring a fort we were hungry and ordered the Sirloin for 2 for a late lunch. It was cooked perfectly medium. It came on a sizzling plate with diced veggies and potato quarters. Between the food and sangria, I am ready for a nap. All was exactly as I had hoped. Delicious, well seasoned, and just the right size. Not to mention the starter of olives and bread were a nice touch. Since we are Americans abroad we sometime throw caution to the wind and so far the ship has steered us well. Two thumbs up!!
