Spanish friends of ours took us to this small restaurant hidden on a side street very near the Cathedral.
Friendly waiter, menus in Spanish, English and German. We order drinks and a plate of olives followed. We started with a delicious cup of fish soup, not on the menu, Caldo de Pintaroja. Next came the famous Gambas a la plancha( shrimps on the grill) deliciously fresh. Chanquetes de Campo, shaved and lightly fried egg plant, super tasty, fried to perfection .
Some croquettes, with fries and aioli mayonnaise and a tapa portion of tripe all very good. My favorite were the Bolo shells. Never heard, nor ate them before , being of lover of shell fish, I could not wait to taste them. If you like Oysters you will love these, plumper than an oyster, maybe not as big, but it fell oh so good in your mouth, an explosion of taste. Conchas finas, were also delicious and super fresh!
Two different after dinner drinks were offered on the house as well as a plate with mini bonbon like chocolate frozen ice cream.
Quality of food is superb, price reasonable. We will definitely go back. read more
