Catedral Del Pascaito is simply magnificent. It was one of my top 3 meals during our recent trip to France and Spain. 1) Seafood is incredibly fresh. Everything is literally alive. Yes, alive, that fresh. 2) Great service. Amazing chef/owner. My Spanish is terrible, and I had to communicate with him via google translator. Still, he was super patient, and explained everything on the menu with a huge smile on his face. LOVED the guy. 3) Unbelievable food. Yes, I mentioned that the ingredients were fresh, but everything was prepped to perfection. I highly recommend this tiny clam called Coquinas (12 euros). Simmered in buttery sauce with parsley, these tiny clam lookalike coquinas tasted marvelous. We also had fried fresh white anchovy (Boquerones), which tasted crazy good. It was lightly fried, and the texture was almost fluffy soft. And for only 5 euros, how could I ever find faults with this wonderful dish?!?! We ordered 5 tapas and 3 glasses of wine, and the total bill came down to 42.50 euros. I LOVE SPAIN. The owner seems to love Hollywood movies, as the restaurant was decorated with pictures of famous Hollywood actors, actresses and movies. I really wanted to tell him that his food was better than any tapas I had in NY and DC, but he was too busy, so I couldn't.
