Looking for a delicious, inexpensive Mexican restaurant that stays open late? Look no further than El Mariachi. This spot is only frequented by locals, and you'd only really hear about it through word of mouth. Most of the patrons here are Latino and some of the staff are monolingual Spanish speakers, which speaks to its authenticity. We came here on a Friday night around 11pm. Mexican music was playing from a digital jukebox and there were about 3-4 tables of patrons getting their taco fix. We started with a couple horchatas (small $2.50, large $5), which were a great accompaniment to the flavorful tacos. We ordered 6 tacos between us ($3.50 each): 2 chorizo, 2 tripe, and 2 al pastor. This was my first time here, and I found everything to be tasty, but my friend who's a regular here found the tripe to be less crispy than usual. The tacos are quite hefty, and come with a side of radishes, 1/2 a pepper, and limes. If you live in the area, it's a great spot to check out, especially after a night of drinking. read more

Its so good to find a great and inexpensive taco place in my neighborhood! The best thing is that they are open until 2am, 7 days a week! That's even later than the Chinese takeout in the area. Tacos are $3.50 each. I ordered 2 times using the yelp link that goes to Grubhub. -Taco de Enchilada- This is my favorite taco. The pork is marinated in a spicy sauce and it has the right amount of fat on the meat. Taco de Carnitas- This is also very good. The pork is very tender and moist. Taco de Al Pastor- Didn't like this one as much. The meat was very dry and the texture wasn't very good. Taco de Oreja- This is pig ears and it was ok. The cartilage had a very crunchy texture. I have eaten Chinese food with a crunchy texture like tendons and such but it just doesn't work in a taco. I probably wouldn't get it again but for $3.50, it's worth a try. You might like it. The restaurant also serves beer and there was plenty of tables. I didn't dine in so can't go into detail about the service. I was not impressed with the food. It was average at best. Service was EXTREMELY slow. I feel like we were treated differently because there we were, 2 Asians in a Spanish town getting Mexican food. Water took more than 20 minutes to get to us. Waitress did not want to come take our order. And food took almost one hour to get to us, while all the other Spanish customers that came after us got their food first. And it really wasn't that busy! 4 tables! We had the guacamole with chips. Average at best. Needs more lime. Chicken quesadilla came with rice and bean. It was decent and it was shredded chicken instead of the whole pieces of meat. My husband had this shrimp dish (see picture) average at best again. Not impressed. The only thing we liked was the free chips and salsa. Salsa was a bit sweet with a kick. If he felt my apartment was too far from the restaurant location, he should have taken it up with his manager, or seamless - not the customer. A little pricey and Rude, rude, rude! I have been there before for dinner and the service is not so good, I think the servers only smile amongst each other. Well, There are not many Mexican restaurants in Woodside so I decided to call this restaurant since I had ordered a few times before. During the weekend they take up to 1 hour for delivery which is ok I guess since like I said there's not much Mexican food around here. I placed my order with the lady and asked for a total. When I hung up my mom told me it was way more than before, so I called back to cancel my order (it was about 2 or 3minutes NOT 15). And, what do I get? A lady asking me to wait only to tell me that they started making the order. So I said I once again that I just didn't want it and I was not planning on receiving it. I couldn't tell if it was another lady or the same one because I can hear them speaking in the background. Anyway she Yelled at me with an attitude saying "so then, we will never take an order from you again". Too bad! I came here with my friends on a whim a few months ago and we've been dreaming about it ever since. Great service, and amazing food. When Covid hit and NY closed most of everything we were sad to see it gone for so long but once it was back up delivering we were quick to order. The two hot sauces to choose for your meal are good, but be wary of the red one, it's hot!! I can handle heat, but it was way to much for me. Still enjoying my meal tho!
