Lunch special, tamale, burrito, refried beans

This place was a subpar dining experience. Small servings. Two lunch specials were close to $20. I'm glad we only ordered water. The food was so bland & had to be drowned in Tapatio. The chips were served with salsa & a white sauce. When we asked our sever what it was, all he said was "white sauce." Very informative. We weren't checked on at all during our lunch.

Really enjoyed this place. Been seeing it for years but never came in to see what it's about. Pleasantly surprised. The menu has so many pictures if you don't understand what the text says. Servers were very nice and food came in 10 minutes. Affordable food and drinks as well. Bathroom could use some work tho

Deep fried ice cream and Coronarrita!

Their service is wonderful! The staff is patient and kind. You receive a basket of chips and two sauces; I love the white sauce! The drinks are reasonable priced and portion of dish is more than enough! I usually get the Jalisco; which no longer on their newly updated menu, but they still make it upon request. You can't go wrong with what dish you get. I had deep fried ice cream and it was perfect! The ice cream was not melted at all (unlike some other places). I always leave this place happy with the food, derive and price.

Friendly service in an authentic Mexico environment. I stopped in for lunch while waiting for my car to be finished at the nearby Regal car wash. Chips were served warm and crisp. They were served with a delicious creamy spicy dip and a traditional red salsa. I ordered number 7 off the lunch menu. My food came out about 15 minutes later steamy hot. The Chile rellleno was stuffed with a creamy white cheese and was the highlight of the meal. The chalupa was ok as was the rice. The received beans were very tasty. Seemed like many regulars as they were greeted by the staff.

I used to like this restaurant a lot! Last night will likely be the last time I eat there. Upon arrival I saw a sign in the door that said they now change a surcharge for using a credit card (I didn't even know that was legal, I looked it up and apparently it is, but if they are charging it on debit cards that is not legal, I used a credit card), I asked them about it and they said it was because they got a new machine. So I guess now we have to pay for their cc fees. I've never seen that any where else! If I hadn't already had my mind set on Mexican I would have gone somewhere else. The food was okay, the beans were bland. My kids' Quesadilla was tiny. So if you don't like being nickled and dimed I would avoid this restaurant.

Not really authentic Mexican, but I love the atmosphere. Their drink specials. And their free chips and salsa.

Filthy. Rude service. Unappealing, microwaved food. The empty lot should've been my clue.

From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a diverse selection of dairy products, sodas, and snacks that you don't typically find all in one place. That variety directly stood out to me. Unlike many markets that focus on just one country, Loma Bonita offers a wide range of products from across Latin America, including El Salvador, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, and more. One area for improvement is pricing clarity. In some sections, particularly dairy, labels can be difficult to match to specific items. That said, the staff at the checkout counter is willing to assist with price checks. As you move through the store, the selection just keeps getting better: fresh cuts of meat, frozen goods from around the world, and ready-to-eat hot meals. There's even a paletero (ice cream stand) tucked near the back by the produce section. The produce department stands out for its range, availability and affordability. It's great to find items like culantro, yellow (ripe) and green plantains, papaya, guava, mango, nance, yuca, and malanga, along with standard produce. Having all this fresh and reasonably priced is a big plus. What is the reward of visiting Loma Bonita? Their restaurant food! I almost always leave with a "Burrito de Asada" or "Huarache de Asada". Everything is made fresh to order, though they also offer convenient grab-and-go options like whole chicken and Mexican rice. On weekends, the menu expands with items like menudo and tacos dorados, making it more enticing to visit. There are multiple Loma Bonita locations in the Twin Cities, and while this one may be smaller, it's still packed with great finds. Pro tip: For homemade tacos, get their fresh, handmade corn tortillas. They're a game changer!

Taqueria LomaBonita is located in the back a grocery/bakery called Supermercado y Panaderia LomaBonita in Crystal. Firstly, the grocery store is amazing and features a huge selection of Mexican special items that you really can't find elsewhere, including a whole array of locally made tortillas, specially cut meats, tacos dorados, house made salsas, etc. In the back of the grocery store is this taco shop which sells a whole bunch of Mexican classics for between $5-15 depending on the item. I have tried about half the menu by now, and everything has been incredible. You have to get one of the many aguas (beverage) they have - my favorite is the sandia (watermelon), but they're all amazing. As for the food, my two favorite dishes so far have been the burrito and the enchiladas. Both are by far my favorite in the state, and the lengua is definitely the best meat choice I've tried. The staff are all extremely friendly, and serve you super quickly - the only potential downside is there may be a language barrier at times if you do not speak a little bit of Spanish. Just be ready to use Google translate should you need to. This taco shop is usually a little busy, but around the corner of it inside the grocery store, is a nice little seating area with very cute tables and colorful chairs. I highly recommend this place, it is one of my top 5 restaurants in Minnesota, and I come here almost weekly now.

Longer version: This place is located in a strip mall that kind of looks run down. Do not let that stop you!! There is actually a really pretty park across the street if you do want to take your food to go. The inside was very clean and put together. There isn't much for decor but it felt like your standard "hole in the wall" twin cities hispanic restaurant. Parking is free. The service here was terrific!! I felt like I was honestly apart of a family! I was check in on multiple times! My server was very polite and friendly! Very enjoyable! The food: I got pupusas (cheese) and they were soooo good! The cheese pull on these were great! If you have never had them, it's kind of like if a corn bread pancake and a slab of mozzarella came together! You can get these stuffed with beans and meat as well! I also got the quesabirria tacos! Now I have been to tons of places in the twin cities for quesabirria tacos and dare I say these are some of the best in the twin cities!!! Oh my goodness!! Absolutely delicious! And the consume had good flavor as well! Packed with meat and cheese! The salsas were excellent and had a great heat to them! Their horchata was also very refreshing and I would definitely recommend that as well! This is a smaller business with a great menu, friendly service and decent portion/price ratio! Don't sleep on this place!
