I had read many good reviews so we tried it. The flavor of the Kourmet Burger and Kourmet fries was delicious. The fries had their sauce and a ton of bacon and were very tasty. But.... there is no place to sit. Either take it home or eat in the car. I saw one couple using their car trunk lid as a table. We took it home and it is big and messy so having a table was a plus. While the burger was tasty, it had an unusual texture (ground to fine?) and was over cooked to a very well done. The staff had only one person who spoke English and that was poor English. Found this little gem ducked off not too far from Katy Mills Mall. The reviews are TRUE. This place is good. Super big portions. Everything is made fresh and they do not take either. So we love the other location - food, people, how easy everything was even in these times of COVID. I was going to be in the area so ordered from this location in Cinco Ranch. Never. Again. The online ordering system offered 3 choices - "here", "to go", and "drive through". Guess what? They are only offering drive through - with no option but to wait in the line (after finding parking and walking to the locked door and then getting into the drive-thru line) while your food gets cold. I wouldn't mind doing the drive-thru but there was no need at all for me to order and pay online. Further, they give a 20 minute estimate on the food. OK, I don't even mind waiting for good food. But the inefficiencies were frustrating and totally changed this from a "wow, epic food" to a "this would have been good if it were fresh and hot". My last two issues? 1. The order was wrong - even after I asked the server to make sure we had what was ordered. 2. The quantity of food was less than at the other location. I don't want to pay $10 for a sandwich and then have 2x as much coleslaw as meat. If we order from El Kourmet again, it won't be from the Cinco store. How disappointing. read more

Pretty good stuff! Looking at reviews, I was generally mislead, thinking there would be a heavy Latin twist. The reality is that there isn't as much of foreign influence on the food as the name suggests. It's really an American food truck with honey mustard in the mix (prominent in both of my dishes). BUT, I'm not complaining. The home made honey mustard is perfect. And, portions are hearty for a decent price! It's in a generally nice area, my order was on time, and service was up to par. I genuinely enjoyed my meal, but wish there would be more of a unique twist to the food served. At the end of the day however, I would definitely swing by again!! I travel almost weekly, so I like to find the food gems in every city, this place delivered. I can't help but over order more food than I can eat when I want to try multiple things. Ordered 2 drinks, 1 hot dog, 1 hamburger and 2 dozens of tequeños to go. We drove all the way from the Fry rd location (for some reason closed Monday) to find this truck and it was worth it! The burgers are 10-12 bucks but bigger than the photo leads on and come with an egg and ham, plus all the typical fixings. The surprise is a layer of tiny crispy fries that give it some crunch. Really nice touch, also super messy so don't where your Sunday dress (tell them EASY ON THE SPECIAL SAUCE). I can see why people line up for these. read more

I had the pork chop burger, tequenos (sp?), while the hubs had the kourmet burger and fries. So much food! The burgers are huge and could easily be shared. I decided to give it a shot and discovered I am not a fan of Venezuelan flavored hamburgers and especially not the fries. The burger has a patty, a fried egg, thick slice of typical Venezuelan cheese , a slice of ham, and crunchy fried potato stix, tomato, lettuce and sauce. The patty isn't beef as we know it in the USA, it tastes like pork/beef combo, a little like a Stadium burger but that's part of the experience. When they started in Fry road they pretty much nailed it in terms of taste and presentation. They since moved to Westheimer Harvest Market.
