We had this food truck cater our facility for lunch. Horrible service, unorganized and unprofessional. My co worker and I didn't end up getting our food. We waited 40 minutes and they were serving numbers 14/15, we were numbers 32/33. So another 40+ minutes? We ended up leaving. Another co worker who was first in line ordered a burger, well done, got a pink patty. I hate to leave a bad review, but I have to be honest and warn others. I don't recommend this food truck for a large company lunch in, maybe if the crowd was small, which at this point was small because only one department was out, maybe they would be able to manage better. Caught this food truck at a market on Lake Gregory and ordered the veggie patty burger (made of broccoli, potato and carrot) and it was pretty good). Could have used more seasoning flavor but overall was tasty. The fries made from whole cut potatoes were delicious! Easy ordering on their key pad. The sandwich was a generous size and was around $15.50 pre tax and tip which was worth it. Definitely check this place out! That shrimp sammie looked GOOD. read more

After seeing the reviews, I wanted to give this spot a try. I was an hour away so I double checked their hours both on Google and Yelp. Both said that they open at 11 on Wednesdays. I tried their website but did not see hours listed. I arrived at 11:50 on Wednesday, they were closed. I waited until noon, just in case but still nothing. Fortunately they are close to Lake Arrowhead Village which has many options for food. Not sure if this spot has gone out of business or just neglected to update hours/days of operations. We were told the food was going to take 20 mins and after waiting 30 mins, the cook came out and said it would be another 5 mins and then it actually took another 15 mins, so in total we waited 45 mins for our food. By the time we got our food it was cold. I understand the cook works alone but he could've been truthful and atleast been apologetic for making us wait more than double the time we were told. Everything I've had here so far has been nothing short of amazing! First time here I tried the Goat Cheese Fig Jammin and I was hooked. Just came back and tried the Stanley Special Burger with a side of the Truffle Portobello Fries after asking them what are their most popular choices and these equally exceeded all my expectations. Absolutely some of the best burgers I've had. I can tell you can't go wrong with anything here. I even got a beef patty for my two pups so they could enjoy the same experience with me. AMAZING SERVICE!! My friend and I had just gotten done with a 12 mile hike and were exhausted and filthy. Around the 9 mile mark we had decided we were going to reward ourselves and try El Jefes on our way home. Unfortunately we pulled up and were told they had just closed. We were so sad but understood but then he told us "you know what? What do you want? I'll make you guys some food"! We were so happy!!! We sat in my car to wait and rest and when our food was ready not only did he walk it out to us, he brought us each a bottle of water as well!! I honestly can't say enough good things. He 100% had every right to turn us away but instead went above and beyond to take care of us. I got the goat cheese fig jam burger and it was heavenly! My husband and I spent the weekend in Skyforest and we had some of the best food at El Jefe's. I wish I would have taken a photo of our beautiful spread, but we were just too eager to start eating. We ordered all the tacos - the fried fish ones were our favorite. We also got sliders and a lot of fries. The fries are AMAZING. I wish we would have gotten more burgers, but that's an excuse to go back Our dog appreciated and loved the fact that El Jefe had a fur baby menu. The hubby and I split the Stanley burger and fish tacos. That burger is huge! At first, I was disappointed that I didn't see some burger sauce on there, but come to find out it doesn't need it since the flavor of the meat patty is super flavorful and not plain ground beef. The nice thick patties were cooked perfectly with thick bacon. It is probably one of the best burgers I have had. And the fries were delish - nicely seasoned and salty. The Baja fish taco's come with 3 tacos on flour tortillas and mango salsa. These were very flavorful, but I do feel that the amount of fish per taco was small - but maybe compared to the meaty burger it just seemed that way. I hope they can add to the menu and have a chicken sandwich or add some variety, but this little truck is a definite plus and a little more gourmet compared to the myriad, boring coffee shop diner food everywhere on the mountain. read more

I was so hungry and needed a good burger because I had been working outside all day. The burger had a jerk flavor, grilled pineapple, avocado, white cheese ( I forgot to ask), grilled red onion. Ohhh it was so good. Also, the fries are fresh cut and prepared fresh! Lots of black pepper and salt. Mostly course ground. It was spicy but very nicely so! They will make any burger to order. The chef told me he was a corporate chef who wanted to go out on his own. This little truck has unique and tasty burgers and other items. They take cards or even cash! They have a picnic table outside so I ate my burger fresh from the grill! They explained that there is a new boutique going in and a coffee shop. Behind the boutique will be an outdoor sitting area and they are planning on having live music once they the seating area is completed. They are still on a soft opening. A must stop when you're nearby. We've tried most things on the menu now and everything has been so good. Reasonable prices and generous portions. I eat gluten free and get my burger with the lettuce wrap. So good. Expect the food to take 10-15 minutes once you order. It's made fresh for you. Goodness takes a little time.
