I'm a fan of this place for the most part. Food is good but location is difficult to park in. For their kids menu, I will say it's only good if your kid barely eats lol it's super small portions. I put a photo of what I got for my pick up order. The burritos are yum and so are the quesadillas. I would recommend it. People are also very polite. read more

In crestline for the weekend and La Casita is right around the corner from the cabin, super quaint restaurant - only open from 5-9 so plan accordingly! We didn't know what their hours were and showed up at around 4pm, ended up antiquing while we waited for them to open up. We had a party of 7 and were seated within a few minutes, drinks/chips/salsa/guacamole ordered and out on our table within minutes. Chips came out piping hot so you know they're fresh. Hubby & I split a carne asada chimichanga, tacos and flautas and everything was delicious! Kiddos wanted some dessert so we ordered their deep fried ice cream - the cornflakes had cinnamon sugar which was a nice surprise! So happy that we came across La Casita. Foods delicious, service is great and super family friendly, will definitely be back when we're back in town! read more

I haven't been here in probably close to 20 years. My family used to eat here a lot back in the day as I grew up here in town. The food was great back then. I had learned it's owned by the original family that owned it when I grew up up here. This visit the service and the food did not disappoint. This little hidden gem in Crestline is worth the stop. it's a small but quaint little place where the staff are super friendly and make you feel like you're at home. Not knowing what to get I did look on yelp and see what others were saying. I ordered the fish tacos and they did not disappoint. They were crispy, hot and fresh and full of flavor. I would say my first experience was okay, I'd love to give this spot another try. After reading the reviews it seems like a burrito was the way to go. The steak fajitas were okay, they needed more seasoning and the steak was cooked about medium rare and they were thick pieces. The beans were a little disappointing, they somewhat seemed like they were from a can. Like I just said, I think a burrito or tacos were the way to go. The chimichanga was pretty good, filled to the brim with meat! Also, the iced tea was so good!! We sat outside and it was so nice to be out there. The service was good out there. There was a lot of shade! The outside was so cute! This spot seems to be a local spot! Everyone knew everyone and it was so awesome to watch that. The parking lot was a little small, we don't mind but we did have to park down the street and you get to walk on the beautiful mountain road! read more

This place is amazing The jalapeño poppers are more like a Texas egg roll with a spicy jelly sauce which I love They are fantastic Chili verde burrito, tacos, enchiladas and the chips and salsa all have great flavor The place is a little small and you may have to wait a few minutes for a table but it's worth it. This place has never disappointed. Service is also great. I highly recommend it but make sure to check their hours. read more

Man, this place has really gone down hill. The staff is rude. The portions are tiny!!!! I got a salad that was $5 and maybe $.35 worth of lettuce. The tacos are tiny and the taco "special" on Tuesdays is a joke. Three tacos for $10. Ground beef only. No rice or beans. No drink. The final straw was that on Veteran's Day they didn't have their special because they gave Veteran's 10% off (thanks for paying our taxes, basically). Went in with my Veteran brother and wish we had gone to RB's Steakhouse up here who offered a prime rib dinner for $2.50. We won't be returning and will not be recommending this restaurant to anyone. read more

Ventured back to this place after four years! Same great food, great prices for a mountain town. I am from San Diego, king of Mexican food in Cali. I have Mexican food 2-3 times a week. Nothing here is canned or frozen! Don't believe the other weak reviews. Beer is under $5, most places charge $8 for a pint. Pretty spicy salsa, chips are light and fresh. WOW. La Casita blew my mind away. I got chicken fajitas, with the sautéed bell pepper, onion, jalapeño and tomato in the sweet glaze. They give a huge portion for the price and it comes relatively fast. I sat outdoors and the ambience was 10/10 with the cutely painted murals and fairy lights. There are other Mexican restaurants around Lake Gregory, but I would recommend La Casita the most! It was a great way to end the long day of playing in the lake, and very much satisfied our growling stomachs. I wish there was one near me because I would eat here everyday. read more

We are staying in the area for a couple of days and wanted Mexican food. I liked the reviews so trying it seemed natural. We ordered take out, three of us went for burritos and enjoyed them thoroughly. My wife and son ordered the Rancho burrito. It was covered with a red sauce and loaded with filling. Mine was the Casita burrito. Shredded Chicken, beans, cheese, sour cream and guacamole. They were huge. We ate half and will eat the rest later. The employees were great. read more

It's a shame that after many years of La Casita's food being great, it's dropped in quality. The portion sizes are much smaller, and the flavors not as pleasing with the triple whammy death threat - the prices are higher. I don't have a problem with restaurants responding to tariffs and inflation by raising their prices, if the portions and flavors are maintained. Our three most recent La Casita experiences have not been great and that's a shame, because it used to be our one reliably good restaurant in Crestline. read more

There are several options for Mexican food in Crestline, however LA Casita is one of my go to's. My favorite dish to date is the Combination Plate #4: Chile Relleno & Cheese Enchilada. This is served with beans (amazing!), rice, and chips & salsa. I believe for $7 more you can add on a small guacamole, which is very tasty. The salsa is not very spicy, but it tastes freshly made. I would love to try some of their shrimp dishes in the future like their Shrimp Burrito. In the future, I'll also also ask if they have a spicier/hotter heat salsa available. read more

From the moment I walked in I knew the food was going to be good. You can smell good food. I have cooked Mexican food all of my life and know good Mexican food. I smelled it when I walked in. We were able to sit where we wanted when we walked in. It's a small cute little place. They brought out fresh chips and fresh salsa. The salsa was delicious. I ordered the Chile relleno with rice and they ordered a carne Asada burrito. They also said the meat was tender and seasoned well. The sauce over the Chile relleno was seasoned well and the cheese in the chile was nice and gooey. The rice was not too salty. It was just right. The service was great. The waitress checked on us multiple times asking if we needed anything else. How was our food. Was everything ok. Picked up our dishes as we finished. This will be a great place to come back to for sure. The prices are very reasonable. For a Chile relleno, enchiladas combo plate it's $17.99. Not bad for today's prices. And the service was great. This place is the best in all of the San Bernardino Mountains, and I've grown up here and been to every single Mexican restaurant. Their salsa and chips the absolute best, I love their shrimp burrito more than any other dish I can get on the mountain, their drinks are the best, it's not astronomically expensive, it's such a cute little place tucked away and the service is always excellent! My family was craving some Mexican food while on vacation and since our normal spot closes so early we decided to give La Casita a chance. Let's just say, we were sure glad we did! To start off, the staff was so incredibly friendly and was very helpful answering all my questions about their menu. They not only offered recommendations, but also had the best attitude and definitely made me feel welcomed. The food was also incredibly good and we were shocked by how much more we liked their food compared to the other local option. Additionally, the cost was significantly lower than the competition, not to mention that the portions were about the same, if not bigger. I had the relleno grande and could not stop talking about how good it was. I'd never had anything like it before, but I was so pleasantly surprised how everything worked perfectly together. The restaurant itself had a traditional Mexican restaurant feel, with traditional decor, but the layout was a bit odd. It appeared to be an old house that was converted into a restaurant, so the seating was split into different rooms, but it didn't bother us too much, especially since we ordered to-go. Overall, we were grateful that we tried this local treasure and look forward to visiting again next time we're in town. read more

Zucchini noodles may not be super common in "Mexican/Hispanic" food, but this was a tasty substitute. -shredded beef & chicken enchiladas(combo plate with rice and beans. If you aren't a fan of spicy sauce on your chicken enchilada, they'll switch it out for you! *They also have a children's menu with a TON of options! Plenty of seating, chill decor, calm vibe. We didn't realize we needed a reservation and they still accommodated us. The service was sweet and wonderful. The drinks were well made (a buzz was definitely caught lol)! 2 Stars are for the carne asada fajitas. -3 Stars for the diet coke that tasted like a suicide drink mix from 7/11. Went for dinner, and I ordered Carne Asada Taco Salad. The salad was as big as their side salad and maybe 6 decent pieces of carne asada, for a total of $13. For $17.50 you get a HUGE plate of Carne Asada Fajitas! Ordered a blended house Margarita and it lacked any type of lime margarita flavor. I won't be coming back. Sadly I heard a neighboring table say that "Taco Bell tastes better". Now I haven't eaten at Taco Bell for about 4 years..I just might go back. Yuck!! read more
