I loved stopping at this food truck. We've driven by a few times and they're always busy. We made a special drive down to try the food and enjoy the scenery. The food did not disappoint. The nachos were quite tasty and not spicy. I believe they did offer salsas if you wanted more spice. I love that they have the covered picnic tables out for you to sit and enjoy the food. HEADS UP: Burritos are "wet burritos". This means they come drenched in a red sauce with melted cheese on top. It's good, but be advised! I just HAD to start my review with that, because I feel like it's an important thing to know. Their menu doesn't indicate whether they're regular burritos or "wet". This can be frustrating if you weren't expecting that. In our case, we were hoping to be able to have "handheld" food on our way to the coast, and that wasn't possible. I recommend that the owners make a note on their menu so others aren't caught off guard when they get their order. Now that I put that out there, I have to admit, the food was pretty good. I didn't know what to expect from a small Mexican food truck in Elkton, but it didn't disappoint. I very much enjoyed my carne asada tacos and my wife still enjoyed her wet burrito. If you can handle spice, try their habanero salsa, it's really good! Also, the meat was seasoned and cooked well, which is what made the tacos so yummy. I definitely think it's worth stopping by if you're driving through town and are in the mood for Mexican. I think your craving will be satisfied. Now, I wouldn't recommend stopping if you're short on time, because from our experience, it took a bit long to get our food out. There wasn't anyone ahead of us and it still took about 20 minutes to get our plates out. There could've been phone orders, not sure, but it's ok. More than anything, I just want people to know in case they're on a rush. Either way, we enjoyed our food and would definitely make another stop if we're passing through. They were out of most of their meat options when we visited, so hopefully I can try them next time! It's also good to note that they accept Apple Pay. If you take your meal add salt and plenty of hot sauce and go to the city Park off of Second Street you will have a five star experience. It's worth supporting the hard-working Mexican guys at this food truck. There are picnic benches beside the truck and the area is kept very clean, free of litter. The food is very, very mild for this Californians's taste - even the seeds in the chili relleno were almost bland. This food truck (which evidently is a previous semi container with an 2015 license plate displayed in the area by the outdoor picnic table) with a completely enclosed dining area and an outdoor picnic table, might not look particularly inviting, but don't let it's facade fool you. We were on our way to camp when we lost our way. We stopped here to ask for directions and ended up placing a takeout order. I ordered the #7 - chili relleno with beans and rice. The relleno was the best I think I have ever had. The lightly battered chili was perfectly cooked and so delicious. The beans and rice were also perfectly cooked. The quacamole is addictive. W ordered the carne asada burrito. It was the largest burrito I have ever seen. He ate every bite and he loved it. He thought the steak was perfectly cooked. We loved the food so much that we returned again on our way home after our camping trip. The owner is so nice and generous. In Jared C.'s review of El Guerrero, he perfectly described the restaurant as a "rare gem." I couldn't have said it better. read more

When I ate at first time there it was good but the second and third time was so bad like I asked a for sea food burrito without beans and onions but he still served it to me with beans and onions and no sea food and he even forget to put the fork in the bag or what about the taste!!!! It was so different then before, it was tasting like watery not even ready for serving it. Outstanding. Standard fare prepared with unusual, superior results. Fresh clean flavors even in baked dishes like enchiladas. Chicken quesadilla was out of this world recipe, possibly the best we have ever had, with emphasis on fresh ingredients but all flavors adding to a satisfying whole. On a recent trip to Elkton, we were fortunate to choose this cafe for eats from the three restaurants in town. Although it sports a modest "dining room" (an enclosed food truck), the food was dynamite! The enchilada, beans, and rice was very flavorful, hot, delicious. The chicken taquitos were a generous portion and big chunks of chicken, very tasty. Their homemade salsa was perfect. They don't provide complimentary chips, but we didn't even miss them everything was so good! The owner was delightful, and if you want good, authentic Mexican food, stop here. THE BEST TACOS IN OREGON! My wife and I each had one carnitas and one chorizo soft taco. They were both delicious and flavorful. In fact, they were so good that we cannot wait to go back and try everything else. We are from California, but spend our summers on the Oregon Coast. We know good Mexican food from CA and have been lamenting the lack of it in Oregon for years. No more, this place is the real deal! The picnic tables that serve as shaded outdoor seating are clean and sturdy. They serve large portions of what I would call classic Mexican restaurant food. I've stopped here twice, both times in cold, rainy weather typical in western Oregon. The restaurant is basically a permanently parked taco truck with a visqueen-shrouded enclosure built on the side. As such, one must expect the discomforts of taco truck dining in wintertime. The owner has gone to great lengths to minimize the discomfort, but if visiting in the rainy season expect to eat with your coat on and have your meal get prematurely cold. For summer patrons, this is a non-issue. The menu is as extensive as any indoor, full-service, store-front Mexican restaurant, and so is the quality of the food. I've never had a taco truck with such sumptuous dishes. I can't remember exactly what I ordered because all Mexican food is a bunch of non-intuitive names with various combinations of the same five ingredients, right? But it was surprisingly as good as any Mexican restaurant I have visited. Unfortunately the prices were comparable to full-service indoor restaurants as well. When enduring the low-overhead austerity of a taco truck, one expects to reap some compensation in the pocket book. And of course the austerity extends to the obligatory blue plastic porta-potty outhouse. This one was locked to prevent non-customer use, which requires customers to return to the order line to request a probably germ-infested key. I left without using it. El Guerrero Azteca is a surprisingly pleasant gem for such a small community, and it's worth the detour off I-5 to avoid the usual bland chain restaurants. read more
