    Pollo ala brasa
    Tina T.

If you are looking for rich, well seasoned, fall- off-the-bone authentic PERUVIAN pollo ala brasa this is the place. But this place is more than just pollo; they offer a lot of other typical peruvian dishes that looked amazing. The interior is clean and cute, but the restaurant is snug so I wouldn't come here if I had a group of like 4 or more to eat in since it seems to be popular. (Unless you have reservations) Not too expensive. 10/10 would eat here again if I'm in the area.

    Chaufa especial - good

Ordered delivery as I was craving for some fried rice one day. Their chaufa special didn't disappoint me in terms of ingredients and flavor, however the rice was a bit mushy. Also ordered arroz con pollo con huancaina - wasn't a huge fan for the potatos and creamy sauce but thumb up to the green sauce, which was sweeter than the ones I've had from other restaurants but not bad.

Third time ordering delivery and they haven't failed. I've only tried the chicken & especial chaufa and 1/2 chicken. Everything is extremely flavorful and fresh. Glad I found this restaurant! The rice is your typical Peruvian chaufa and comes topped with green onion. The 1/2 chicken had nice crispy skin and was juicy. Their rice and means are delicious as well!

Order eggs on the Lomo salteado and the eggs are not edible.

This place used to be the best Peruvian food in town, but that is no longer the case. Today, this place is garbage, the food is subpar, and if you question them, they tell you to calm down, as if you just got mad out of the blue. Employees are rude, and they can care less if you go somewhere else. To the owner, this happens when you underpay your good employees; they will leave and leave us with the idiots you have today. Unfortunately, this place is no longer what it used to be. You deserve 0 stars.

A mix of everything on one plate

We love this place. My Peruvian friends would say "Que rico" after trying their food. We have never been to the restaurant, as we discovered it once the pandemic started - but we have been ordering from them once a week for the past three months. The food always arrived on time and with the correct order, and it was always delicious. Must tries are : Chaufa Especial, Papa a la Huancaina, Aji de Gallina, Chicharron de Pescado - but everything ( and we have tried a lot these months) is just delicious. On top of the food, they have this incredible salsa verde which is delicious. We use it for the delivery, but try to always save some for when we are cooking normal seafood the following days. Back a couple of months ago, we had ordered something (on Grubhub) and I had the wrong number on my profile. They tried to call me a thousand times (I discovered in hindsight) to tell me that they couldn't fulfill a full portion of the order because out of stock - but since they didn't want to leave us without it, they gave us whatever they had left for free. For us, this is definitely going the extra mile for clients. We recommended to anybody who likes good food, at a fair price.

Excellent place for ceviche! I am Peruvian so I can verify that this is the real thing and it's sooo good! They have Inca Cola and it's BYOB. I also tried the arroz chaufa special El Gordo (out of the menu) with three types of meats. This one was just ok, for me it needed more flavour. Nevertheless, I will come back to try other items in the menu. The service was excelllent, friendly staff.

The ceiling over the bar featured artfully placed corn husks. They had two mocktail options. I had the chicha morada. It was sweet, but light. To start, we had the maitake ceviche. The mushrooms were perfectly firm and complemented nicely by the corn and carrots. The sauce was savory and tangy. Delicious enough to drink! They don't have any vegetarian entrees so I opted for the gnocchi with a side of the brussel sprouts sans bacon. The gnocchi had a rich cheese and melted in your mouth. The brussel sprouts were nicely roasted with a slightly sweet glaze. Two people joined our table late and they let us move to a larger one without issue. Portion sizes were small, especially given the price point, but otherwise, it was great for a splurge.

I made a reservation and they've respected my request to be seated inside. The atmosphere inside is very vivid, like the name of the restaurant... it feels like you are in a party. My only wish is that they would play Peruvian music so the experience would be more immersive with the food. The menu is big and one of the things that I've liked was to see a lot of dishes that are not common in a Peruvian Restaurant outside Perú... like Aji de Gallina, Anticuchos and Picarones. Now the most important, the food... the quality was very good, since the plates arrived to our table, the smell and the presentation was a temptation to go all the way in. The ingredients used felt fresh and made to order. Every plate had its own characteristic and flavour... good size too. The "choco lucuma" cake for dessert was a great finish... moisty and the intensity of the chocolate and lucuma flavor to a good ratio. If you have the chance to try it... go for it, you'll not regret.

A modest restaurant, that seems to be run by family/close friends, which turned out to be some of the best peruvian food ive had in New Jersey so far. I really was craving ceviche and peruvian fried rice when I stumbled on this local store on Yelp. I did have difficulty placing an order at first, but once the man realized i speak some spanish and wanted to order food, he seemed to try to apologize and took my order. When i came in for pickup i was greeted by two workers who did indeed only speak Spanish. I think they forgot to cook my order because when i asked them about my pickup, the man was startled and asked me to wait an addition 10 minutes. After waiting, i received my order and paid (cash only). As a side note, they do have two small tables set outside for those who want to dine in. Despite the issues I had with getting my food, i have to say I am very impressed with the amount and quality of food. It really took me back to food in Peru and I was so happy to have found a good local shop. We asked for the spicy ceviche mixto and arroz chaufa mixto as well. The ceviche had a very good kick and was the best Ive had in NJ. Arroz chaufa was served in a large tray and was an unbelievable portion size. It looked and tasted very home-made and definitely could serve at least 2-3 people. For the price, taste, and quality of food, i dont think you could find better in NJ. It definitely adds fierce competition to larger peruvian restaurants. I know I had difficulty ordering but I do appreciate the hustle of a family serving its community. If you speak spanish or are willing to pick up google translate Id definitely recommend coming here. Will be back!
