Chaufa w Shrimp

First time here, and we really enjoyed the food. We ordered causa w chicken, empanada de mariscos and chaufa w shrimp. So good with the sauce to EY served too. We're coming back to try other dishes.

Went here for lunch and got seated right away as there were not many people inside. The waiter was nice and the food came out quickly. However the leche de tigre was a bit disappointing it needed more flavor, so I added hot sauce (rocoto) and it was better. The ají de gallina was good and the causa was also good. I will certainly go back but I'll pass on the leche the tigre.

Empanada con Mariscos

I went to La Kausa for dinner and ordered the Arroz con Mariscos. This was a Peruvian style paella with seafood, and it was good, but not as flavorful as some other paella dishes that I've had. A few small points for improvement: the rice didn't have the creaminess that I've liked from other paella dishes and the seafood was not as plentiful as I would have liked. I also tried the Empanada de Mariscos (seafood) and Empanada de Carne (meat). The exteriors of both had the right amount of crispiness, while the interiors were average in quality. The service speed was very slow. In addition, although our waitress did check in on us once, we were never offered to have our waters refilled even though we finished them early on in our meals. That being said, the staff members were very friendly. You can tell that this is a local place because many of the staff and customers seemed to know each other and spoke Spanish with each other in a very friendly manner. There is plenty of seating inside the restaurant. Overall, La Kausa is a good local spot for authentic Peruvian food. I would recommend it to anyone looking for Latin American food in the North Bergen area.

Lomo Saltado with white rice

Their Arroz Chaufa (Peruvian Fried Rice) is amazing!!! My husband and I are absolutely obsessed with their Arroz Chaufa with chicken (around $14). It is SO flavorful every single time! The ingredients taste very fresh. That green sauce is addicting. And the portion is huge. Oh and La Kausa delivers. What more could you ask for? Their Lomo Saltado is also good but not the best I've ever had. The beef is super tender but the sauce tasted a little watered down. Anyways, back to the Arroz Chaufa- Brb (be right back) I'm going to go order some now!

This was amazing.. The green sauce is the best sauce. The food was delicious, FRESH and tasty. Service was kind and attentive. The place is very clean as well. I will definitely be coming back.

My goodness! My favorite Peruvian restaurant. The staff was friendly and it wasn't overpacked. The staff wore masks and accommodating. This was my first time eating inside of this restaurant. My husband and I usually get food to go and we eat it home. It made the experience better because I was able to have canchita and an Inca Kola!!! A MUST TRY!

Soup of the day

It's my favorite restaurant here in the US. I needed homemade food like that. Prices are good, staff is great and also they are cleaning all the time. Can't wait to go back there!

WOW!! So so happy I tried this place. Came here with my boyfriend and we both are dyingggg to come back. Service was absolutely incredible. Multiple waiters attend you and they were all extremely nice and attentive. They really paid attention to us and were very personable and sweet. Food blew my mind, definitely topping this as my favorite Peruvian restaurant! We started with Papa a la Huancaina and Cheviche de Pescado. Both were amazing, but the ceviche was TO DIE FOR. Seriously, it tasted for fresh, perfectly lime-y, and just soooo good. Then, we both had Chaufa's as an entrees. They both hit the spot and the salsa verde added to it made it even more delectable. We're already planning our next visit back. The prices were definitely reasonable and the vibe is pretty cute. It's not a fancy restaurant, but very presentable and suitable for dates, family dinners, maybe even a birthday. If you are craving Peruvian food - RUN, don't walk to La Kausa!

Empanadas de Queso - juicy and filling

This restaurant has been my family's go-to "home away from home" since it opened. The owners are wonderful and the wait staff are efficient, kind, and - if you come in often enough - very loving. The food has always been extraordinary and, if it's not, they will not hesitate to address your needs. My father loves the fish dishes (fried, light batter). I vary between the chaufa (think of a Chinese fried rice, but with fresh ingredients, not greasy, and extremely plentiful), the milanesa de pollo (a breaded chicken cutlet), and always starting with the cheese empanadas. It's affordable, friendly, and with exquisite food.

The guac was good but could use a bit more salt, i wish they had chiccarons as chips instead of tortillas but the chips were great so wasn't a big issue. overall though expensive for some pretty average guac in my opinion. the seabass crudo was great, i loved the sauce and the mango went great with it. Super fresh, super tasty. Unfortunately the tacos were a mess, when it arrived the tortillas were so soggy that they were just coming apart, the meat was also falling off and overall the presentation was horrendous. the tacos weren't balanced as well, there were some with too much meat and then some with basically only cheese. overall flavor was not birria im typically use to but it was solid. honestly these tacos are probably the worst tacos i've ever had, for $20 it's a travesty. overall for a place nearby i'd come to get some drinks and the crudo and esquite because those were fantastic. but i'll pass on their tacos hard.

Margaritas and drinks here are even better. I just have mixed feelings about the prices. I understand the location is elite. It's a beautiful view, but for the prices they are charging, they should be giving more food. Three small steak tacos with no sides are $30. I got mole enchiladas and it only came with two. My food also came out with in 5 min, it tasted great but that was a little off putting. I burnt my mouth taking my first bite and I felt like I had no time to enjoy my drink. I also noticed everyone else around me got complimentary chips and salsa, but I didn't. That bothered me. Appetizers are at entree prices.. or family style. The guacamole alone is $30, table aide, but still...It just feels really steep and unessecary with the popularity of this place. It's great they have valet available as this area is difficult to find parking. Outside seating is closed at the moment, I asked when it will be available but there's no eta and that sucks because it's a main perk of this location. One entree and two drinks came out to $80. I'm giving 4 star because the food and drinks ARE GOOD. But my entire experience was really closer to a 3 and I'm really not planning on coming back unless it's a special occasion considering this last experience. Which dissapoints me because as a local I'd like to have this spot be more accessible to me and not just tourists.

We only saw him again when he picked up our plates, and nobody swung by to check on us while we were eating.
