The place is really nice inside and its big but the acoustics aren't very good and the music is WAY too loud. It's a restaurant not a club. You cannot hear anyone because it is way too loud... even if they are right next to you, the staff had trouble hearing us and we could barely hear them. My food wasn't good. I ordered my steak medium rare and it came out medium well. Mind you I said it three times and he said it back to me. I made sure because of how loud it is. It was dry, tough, and lacked flavor. I also explained that I cannot eat onions before ordering and the waiter confirmed the salad with my meal has onions but offered to substitute my salad with rice since I cannot eat onions. That was very nice of him, but he gave me yellow rice that had onions in it so I couldn't eat that. The maduros, which I grew up on and eat all the time, looked and tasted old. I couldn't even eat them and others at my table agreed with the steak and maduros. We had a big table and overall no one was happy with this place. The pandebono wasn't great either, the bottom was a bit burned and it was lacking flavor like a lot of the food we ordered. I had to add salt. I wasn't drinking that night so ordered a Shirley Temple with extra cherries, something I order when I don't feel like drinking, and it was awful. First off, not 1 cherry lol but it was mostly Grenadine syrup! So hard to drink. I had my gf, her sister, and her aunt try it. No one liked it. One of my friends ordered a dirty martini and it tasted really strange more like pickle juice and liquor. She tried to drink it, but she couldn't and I don't blame her. A few of us tasted it... not good. She asked the waiter if she could trade it for a margarita because someone else got one and said it was okay. The waiter comes back with another dirty martini that was even worse! The piña colada was pretty good, weak, but not bad. Maybe stick with that. A few people at the table got it so I got to taste it. I'm so glad we rolled the dice and tried this place. It's a great vibe, music was on point, and food was hot and delicious. They have valet parking making it an easy access spot in a very busy area. I placed a to-go order, and this is how the bartender labeled me on the receipt: "Lesbians fastidiosa" (translation: annoying lesbian). This is not only disrespectful to me but also to the entire LGBT+ community. The bartender never had the decency to apologize, and management ignored me even after I showed them the receipt. They walked back and forth for over half an hour before anyone even acknowledged me, and when they finally did, it was without sincerity. The way they treat people is disgusting and unacceptable. I have been to this restaurant more than a handful of times, and they are always on point with everything. Drinks are great -- I get the Jalapeño Margarita every time, and this dish is always my go-to. If I had to suggest anything it would be have the portions be consistent -- I always find myself wanting more rice, and for the portions they bring out like this fish with shrimp, the rice portion is small. Terrible service and subpar food! My family and I (a party of 8) went for dinner and were overcharged. When we pointed this out, the waiter insinuated we were lying about the number of water bottles consumed. He also charged us for an extra margarita we never ordered. Despite calmly explaining the mistake, he insisted he was right and treated us with blatant disrespect. He was incredibly rude and dismissive. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. They provide their I pad menu. I really don't like the touching a tablet before eat but its been popular nowadays. The tablet screen wasn't clean as I expected. But we had to spit out some portion due to its toughness and dryness. I can make a better steak at half cost at home. This restaurant is claimed steakhouse... The rice was served as a side which was not warm. I believe the rice was taken from the refrigerator and served as short reheated. We are very disappointed about overall quality. I'm laughing just looking at our photos because the rice was so freaking much! The combo came with a side of Cole slaw, which was delicious! And while we wished the waiter told us that the combo already came with tostones, he didn't, so we ordered it as a side first -- we asked how many were in a serving and his English made it sound like 24, so of course we ordered the side -- only to see 3 tostones... when I used my elementary school Spanish, I said "I thought you said veinticuatro" to which he shook his head...to be fair, my Spanish speaking friends also misheard and thought he said 24, but I guess he said 2-4, SO -- if you are dining with Spanish speaking friends, have them do the entire ordering in Spanish so nothing gets lost in translation. Spanglish is not the best here. The waiter felt bad, though, so he threw in an extra tostones. Which was great, until I saw later that the combo already included tostones!! Sigh. Tostones for everyone and their mother, I guess. The reviews are correct, though, the service after you have ordered your food isn't the best. It is very hard to find your waiter to get your check, so again, as long as you're not in a rush, you're fine. We also ordered a mango sangria -- fantastic! I did not enjoy my experience here and will not return. I initially heard good things about this restaurant but the food is just ok and the service was terrible. After taking down my order, I did not see my server for the rest of the time I was there (over 1 hr). I had to flag down other servers who were walking by to get a refill for water and after finishing my meal; I waited over 30 minutes for my server so that I could ask for the check. The server disappeared for the rest of the night so I ended up having to ask a different server for the check. The meat was overcooked and very chewy. They're known for their meat platters & was able to try the Carne Llanera and it was bomb! Stopped by after a walk at north bergen park. Love their outdoor tents in the parking lot. Lots of precautions are taking here. Temperatures are checked and everyone should wear a mask. Tables are six feet parts and they try to seat people at every other table. Everything is very clean. Waiters have their masks and gloves on. Food was good. The fried snapper could have used a little more seasoning but it was fried crispy. Plantanos were soft and sweet. Beans were well cooked. The prime rib was good as well; even medium well, it was very tender. The sampler had fried pork belly, skirt steak, beans, rice and fried yucca cake. Now let's get to the dessert. The tres leches might be the best I have ever had. The bottom layer was soaked in all the glory of the three milks, thus it was overly sweet, but the middle and top layers were not soaked and the cream was so soft and light. My boyfriend and I went for dinner on a Saturday night. They have complimentary valet parking which is definitely a plus. Initially they told us the wait was 20mins but we didn't even wait for 10mins which was great. Our server was attentive and everything came out quick. We ordered our food and it literally came out in less than 10mins. The food was really good and they serve huge portions. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because a few minutes after being seated live entertainment came in. They were decent but 1. It was way too loud 2. They interrupted all songs to join in on the happy birthdays so you couldn't enjoy a full song. Definitely not the place to go if you're looking to have conversation.
