This food truck was a great surprise! We've seen it around the North Hollywood Ralph's plaza on Magnolia and Vineland on Fridays but had tried a couple others in the little food truck pack that's been gathering there. GF wanted Gorditos so we gave it a shot. She ordered a vegetarian gordito and I got carne asada fries and buffalo wings. It took a little while to get the food as it was pretty early in the evening and and they were still getting going. It was about $40 for three boxes of food. We paid with a cash transfer app ( they have several to choose from). To be honest I expected to be underwhelmed as it just looks like a typical food truck. My GF was disappointed to find meat on her gordito but fortunately she's a flexitarian and was able to remove most of the meat. She enjoyed the gordito very much. I opened my wings first and was bit overwhelmed to find it also came with fries lol. I tried a couple of the fries and they were fantastic. Seasoned well and tasty. The buffalo wings were bone in, flavorful, with a (I'm pretty sure) a classic Frank's based sauce. Really tasty meat. Then I tried the carne asada fries and they blew me away. I had never tried asada fries before but these were a great introduction. The flavor combinations were great. This is the kind of food I can see myself craving in the future. The portions were large and the fries were so good I had to tell myself to slow my roll and save some for lunch the next day. (They were pretty darn tasty reheated too!) Despite the meat mix up of the gordito we had a very positive experience with the food from this truck. I would definitely return to get the asada fries again or maybe try something else.

Someone said they give you big portions here for a decent price. These small tacos, with very little meat were 2.50 each. I like crunchy tripas, but these ones where just like chips, highly overfried. Should of went to in n out.

This is my husband's and my go to place on Friday nights. I really like the tacos and the hubby the burritos and tortas. Lady working there is very friendly. Only reason I don't give them 5 stars is because last Friday we got screwed out of 4 tacos. We got charged for them but, they didn't give them to us. So we'll give them another shot tonight and see if they make good on our order. Ok so we went back. They made good on it! Soo good!

Another taco truck in the hood. I ended up here by accident. I was going to my spot and drove past it. Rather than swing a u-ee, I pulled over at the next truck. The neighborhood is sketchy as hell and in front of a church. I was on edge waiting for shots to be fired or someone getting stabbed. I think I may have completed my assimilation cause no one else seemed worried but me. There were families with their kids hanging out waiting for their food and they looked at ease as vatos locos strolled by talking about jumping some dude earlier. I got ready to throw down but they did want none. They knew better! The tacos were good though. Lengua was right on. Al Pastor was good, not great, but not bad.

I first tried food from this truck about 3 months ago. Ever since then I've been coming back when I find myself wanting tacos. So far I've tried the burrito, tacos and mulitas - all has been good. With every order they throw in grilled onions, nopal asado, jalapeño and a tostada with beans. So far I've only had their asada and al pastor. They do however have a big variety of meats. I really like their green salsa, it has a very homey taste. They also have a variety of condiments to choose from, which are all freshly cut. And last, but not least I like that the lady taking the orders is very friendly.good customer service is always a plus.

Almost gone . But the Alembre is freaking good ! Different kinds of meat on it with cheese and peppers.

Anybody Hating on a beautiful family owned business shows their own insecurity or bitterness…read more From the first bite of their chilaquiles, it's clear why this place gets serious love: the tortilla strips are fresh and crispy, drenched in just the right amount of salsa, with queso, crema, cilantro, and onions delicately layered on top -- a harmony of textures and flavors that hits deep. The version with carne asada and scrambled eggs stands out: the savory meat adds richness, the eggs give a cozy, hearty feel, and the heat-level walks that perfect line between bold and manageable. The portion is generous but never sloppy: everything stays crisp where it should, saucy where it needs to be, and balanced so you don't get that soggy tortilla mush some chilaquiles fall into. On top of that, reviewers frequently praise the staff as "super friendly" and note that this spot is a go-to for Sunday breakfast -- a reliable place to get that hangover-curing, belly-warming Mexican comfort food.

Unfortunately Chilakiles like many places with great reviews are based on a lack of experiences and most reviews are based on emotionalism! I really wanted to like this place and share the great experience with the world but all I took away was a supersized disappointment with a side of wasted money. We ordered two orders of Chilaquiles with the red and green sauce, one with carne asada and the other with two eggs over medium. We were the only ones in line and that was a bit concerning but it was Friday at 10:30 am. The orders came out quickly and we retreated to our car for some intimate car dining. It felt like Xmas as we opened up our heavy container filled to the brim with anticipation! I started on the green zone and felt the kick of the spice and concluded that this spice was a bit over the top. Typically spicy isn't an issue as long as the flavor holds up and keeps me digging in. However, the spice was overwhelming and the sour taste of the tomatillo in the sauce kept sinking my experience deeper and deeper into the abyss! I decided to move onto the red sauce and it was better but just barely better. All I kept thinking was how disappointing these Chilaquiles were. I know that food like Art can be subjective but after a certain point the subjective opinion is just an opinion. Then you have to compare all chilaquiles to all the other chilaquiles that have graced your pallet. Los Chilakiles is full of disappointment and hype!

This texture fades extremely quickly as the minutes tick by. True for any restaurant, but especially true here. I finally got around to trying Birrieria San Marcos. I bought $100+ worth of food which included: Quesobirria, Soft tacos, Tacos dorados, Tacos dorados with cheese, Burrito, Tacos San Marcos, Consome, and Rice. The good: I was able to eat a soft taco on the spot before getting my order into the car and driving 2.5 miles home. That first taco was divine. I didn't dress it up at all, just took it down raw and it was good. The soft tortilla and consome soaked birria worked well together. The rest of the food came home. The first bites at home were solid. The dorados with cheese was especially good. Two of the three salsas slapped. One wasn't my cup of tea, as it lacked flavor and seasoning and brought only heat. There was no salsa edible to my heat intolerant wife. The bad: Everything is one note. Once things cooled a bit and textures started to settle into some kind of homogeneous middle ground, everything tasted like everything else. Made me realize that everything kinda is everything else. Consomé soaked tortilla, crisped and/or heated and filled with stewed beef, sometimes with cheese, sometimes without. The quesadilla is kind of like the dorados with cheese, which is kinda like the mulita, which isn't far from the vampiro. The burrito wasn't much different either. The tacos San Marcos was the only texture/flavor break in the mix, which I was grateful for. The ugly: The beef is overstewed. As such, it's dry. Unavoidable, as it's stewed in hot broth all day. Because of this it's necessary to eat the food immediately, before the consomé spills or soaks away from the meat. The maximal deliciousness is super high. The floor is pretty far down relatively.
