I love seafood. But that was not good. I got sick right after I ate that. Not good at all. Never been sick from seafood until Friday.

If you're looking for authentic Mexican food this is the way to go. If you're looking for good customer service I wouldn't recommend this place. I don't think the employees know what customer service is. Recently did a take out order because I refuse to sit at this restaurant. The lady taking my order over the phone was very rude. I changed my mind with a dish I ordered and was told why I didn't say anything sooner. As a customer I believe I am more than allowed to change my mind. This place is amazing. They gave a LOT of food for the price and also kept the chips and salsa coming until the main course was served. We ordered a plate that said you had to have at least 3 people to order it and now I know why. It was so much food that nobody left hungry. I hate to give this place only 3/5 stars because they deserve more, unfortunately their server or cook ruined my 3rd trip here for me. This place is in a great spot in the heart of South Omaha in the midst of many other taco places and mexican restaurants. If you are looking for true Mexican, Salvadorian, Puerto Rican, and other South/Central American cuisine, this is the right area. We walked in and sat down in the large hall type seating area. Nice TVs with soccer on to watch and other various items of Mexican/Salvadorean decor. The first time we ordered your standard carne asada tacos and some tacos al pastor. The asada tacos were great and so were the al pastor. Not the greatest I've had but they were up there. The second time we ended up ordering their cochnita pibil tacos. They were the most delicious, moist, juicy, tacos I've ever eaten. The flavor was just so amazing I had to stop and think about it. However, the 3rd time we ate here we asked if they had cochnita pibil made yet (they slow cook it for a day at a time). They said yes they did, and we ordered 4 cochnita pibil tacos. To our dismay, we were served carne asada tacos. We thought for sure we had a mix up and talked to our waitress who insisted that they were cochnita pibil and not carne asada and that we did not know what we were talking about. We quietly finished our meal and paid, the receipt said "4 tacos carne asada" on it. We made no complaints to the manager but we will probably not be back for a very long time. UPDATE: Went back for a 4th time and the cochnita pibil was as good as always. I guess it really depends on what service you get and who your server is. read more

Do not waste your time here. I failed to read reviews. I'll never make that mistake again. The staff was friendly enough however any type of service took incredibly long considering we were 5 of maybe 9 total in the restaurant. They served the chips & salsa before the drinks. The salsa was VERY spicy. Nothing to drink for quite some time. We went here primarily for shrimp & fish tacos. My shrimp were just slightly bigger than a quarter. The cheapest shrimp you can buy, most likely the precooked type. Completely over-cooked & flavorless. Like rubber. They drowned it in raw onion on chewy stale flour tortillas. There wasn't any salsa, or pico de gallo, salad plate, or guacamole served with it so they were very dry. Couldn't finish. The fish was as if it had been drowned in olive oil. Most likely a fryer not heated appropriately. And again, no sides to flavor the taco. Couldn't finish. One kid had a quesadilla. Was pretty basic. Again, no salad, salsa, etc. two kids had a burger. The buns were scorched & the meat tasted freezer burnt. If I could give this place less than 1 star I would. The only redeeming quality was the nice lady that was our server. We went here on a weekday for quick dinner and don't think we will be returning. Their chips and salsa to start with were just okay and their menu is a little confusing. Their micheladas are advertised for 2$ but when you order one they ask you what to add in it. We both had a beer in ours and the price went from 2$ to 10$ without even knowing. The food was good, we both had plates that were good but not exceptional and the micheladas (which we did not even like) were too expensive. We ended up dissatisfied and paying around 60$. I think there are much better Mexican restaurants in South O, at least, more authentic. read more

This is the most Authentic Mexican restaurant I know of. Soo flavorful, not too spicy, just darn tasty. The carnitas el dorado is GREAT!!!! The costillas de Puerco is delicious as well. Coming from California, which has many great authentic Mexican restaurants, this is by far one my favorite out here in Nebraska. It's close to home on the taste. I was surprised it was so flavorful and delicious. Somethings could improve but overall good. Also, staff could be bit more friendly. Great music. Great beverages. Coming here was a happy accident. I stumbled upon it and decided to just go in and hope for the best. The outside doesn't give you any clue of what quality lies inside. The decor is nice, but not posh, it's just comfortable. I went in and picked a booth as it's seat yourself. I passed by a table with a couple eating from this huge plate of seafood with jumbo shrimp on it. I immediately got excited. The menu is huge. If you are a seafood fan, this place will knock your socks off. They have a little over a dozen combo platters for two that allow you to try different seafoods and and meats they offer. The selection of soups and salads were suprising too. They have a lot of normal mexican fare, but you can tell from the menu pictures they pride themsleves on coastal food. I went for a smaller platter to try the steak, quail and shrimp. It was all just fabulous. I can't praise this place highly enough. I loved the food. There is no way to give 0 stars so I guess I will give 1 star. This is far from carne adada and el pastor. Not sure what but definitely not authentic. We ordered micheladas for ourselves and the kids got horchata and tamarindo. They got straight up sugar water. We asked to get something else for the kids and the manager came to us angry. She said no one else had complained about the drinks and she tried them herself and they were fine. Uh, ok! And we ordered guacamole and there was hair in it. Still waiting on the water we asked for 3 times as well. Never again! Not sure how this place has such good reviews. Perhaps it's because no one around here knows what real Mexican food is. This place was fun. There was a definite language barrier. The girls that helped us couldn't speak a word of English and had to get someone to translate. The food was okay. I think I'm just more used to americanized Mexican (tex-mex). The fresh squeezed orange juice was amazing. Definitely worth a try if you visit. This is the first time in my life I have ever walked out of a restaurant. The rice, beans and Chile rellenos were a tad colder than lukewarm. The grease on my wife's taco De lengua was white and lardy. When we complained the waitress took the food in the back and micro waved it including the salad. Bad experience enter at your own risk. Ordered a plate of bacon wrapped shrimp which looked like they had been microwaved several times. First off, I will say that I am from a big city in South Texas and we have more options as far as Mexican restaurants. I was told this was a "Authentic Mexican Restaurant" , however that was their opinion and they are native a Nebraskan. The food quality was close to fast food quality. I will not eat there again. If I do visit it will be for the drinks only. Staff is amazing though and that gets them 3 stars. But unfortunately the food is 1 star :( read more

This is one of my favorite stops when I'm in south Omaha. They have the best Al Pastor taco in town in my opinion.

Authentic Mexican food! It was delicious and I will go back. I am giving it 4 stars just because the mariachi band was REALLY REALLY loud.

The night we ate here, there was a mariachi band performing. The trumpets were extremely loud, and made it hard to talk. Other than that, the food was pretty great. Very large portions for the price. The shrimp fajita was very delicious, the bell peppers nice and charred. The steak and tomato dish featured a tender, flavorful and thin steak, also with a lovely char. read more

I love this place! If you're looking for good Mexican, South O is the place and Él Dorado is the best. They have a good sized menu and there is nothing bad on it. Excellent food and good service. The salsa was great. I'm not a huge seafood fan, but the ham that was roasting outside the front door smelled delicious (and was)! The Coke comes in glass bottles so be sure and try that too. If we get back to Omaha, we will be back. read more

I have to give them a two. I go to El Dorado all the time with my family. But today I will never return. So we got there sat down ordered are food. I ordered my toddler frys since he won't eat anything else there. Maybe 10 minutes into the wait are food comes. The waitress brings my son frys last. As she is walking out I see her take a fry off his plate and put it into her mouth. Then goes back behind the counter like where the drinks and stuff is. She brings frys sits it down I see her mouth moving. So I let the owner know what exactly what she did. At first I don't think the owner was understanding what I was telling her. Finally the owner knew what I was talking bout. The waitress denied eating the fry from my son plate. I told her she did the waitress said she was eating the fry she got from the kitchen. Which is a big lie cause I watched her eat the fry off the plate. The managers apologized took off the fry from my bill but it still wasn't enough. I was more upset that she dug her nasty hands in my sons food. I will never give them my business again. read more

I love this place and can't get enough of it. I am gone quite often on deployments and one thing I really look forward too is eating some good mexican food (El Dorado) the owners and employees are always very welcoming to me and have yet to dislike anything ive ordered. We went in as a group of 9 not counting kids. We was very unhappy with are service and food. The waiter took like 30 minutes to get to are tablet to order drinks. Then it took another 30 minutes to get the waiter to take are order for food. This waiter brought out are food before are drinks. When we ask to waiter to get forks, refills are something do with what we needed r food he had a attitude about it like it was a bother to him. I regret not ordering a seafood type dish but there's something about ordering seafood in Nebraska.. I try to avoid it. I don't give this eatery 4 stars for the food but the server and staff were very nice and the atmosphere is synonymous with a real Mexican eatery. We enjoyed an amateur soccer game and Spanish music while we ate. My partner and I are currently practicing Spanish and conversed with our server only in Spanish, even though our speech was broken many times, she was a great help and enjoyed our efforts!
