We stopped by for lunch while traveling through town. I got the bean and cheese burrito, it was just ok. Maybe it needed salt? It was also pretty thin and runny, beans ran out the end of the tortilla. My husband got the adobada burrito and he enjoyed his much more than I did. read more

The food quality & taste has seemed to decline over time. They are one of the few restaurants in the valley, so there's not much competition - I'm assuming that's why the local restaurants don't really find a need to provide good service or provide really good food? The girl at the register wasn't very friendly. I actually felt a bit uncomfortable ordering, like we were inconveniencing her by being there. She has been there the last two times we visited. I guess good help is hard to find in a place where there aren't many people to choose from? I am a FIRM believer that you shouldn't be in a customer service position if you have zero people skills or zero ambition to at least try. Apparently the restaurant owners or manager don't mind having employees who are there to just punch the clock and take home a check with no care in the between? Anyhow, it's decent enough to return to if we are traveling through the area and need a quick warm meal but don't expect more than a mediocre meal and an unwelcoming employee. read more

This was a horrible breakfast AND overpriced for what they give you. My eggs were overdone, the bacon was burned black. My sausage was still raw. My hash browns were still frozen! I mean icy! The tortillas were RUBBERY as if microwaved! The service was "okay", the ladies were friendly. The dining area was dirty and the floors were unswept, unsanitary. The salsa and chili bar had dried foodstuff stuck and dried to rue side, greasy mattered smeared to the sides, and was totally unsanitary. It's a shame, because this could be a great place. Must stop if passing through and need a bite to eat. Location: Right on Hwy 180 but not hard to miss due to a tree next to the street sign for the Gas-n-Go, and restaurant. Plenty of parking space in the dirt lot so no worries there. Ambiance: It's a restaurant inside a gas station so... Adequate seating at tables and few booths for a about 20 but most folks grab and go. Service: Polite folks at the counter, and pretty much everywhere in St. John's and the surrounding area. They're busy so best to have your order decided before stepping up to place your order. Keep in mind "they're busy" so you wait awhile. Still, the wait gave me time to gas up the bike, wash up my face and hands in the Gas-n-Go restroom, and grab a much needed hot coffee. So the wait ain't all bad. Food: Really good. Being on the morning segment of a back road ride from ABQ to PHX I ordered a chorizo omelette but after seeing the locals burgers, burritos, tacos and such. I realized I made a mistake. Still, good omelette too. Cleanliness: It's a restaurant inside a gas station so...yet the tables were wiped down, the drink and condiment stations were clean and the floors swept. I also found the bathroom clean so as far as a gas station restaurant goes - I give it's cleanliness high marks. Overall: This is a perfect stop for a group ride to fuel up and rest. Tourists passing through and the locals coming by for a "get it and go," which is the vast majority. I'm sure I'll be back as we continue to explore the SW on future adventure rides. Our first time here at El Cupidos, we are in town visiting family. We ordered takeout, service was friendly and quick, ordering 6 burritos. For a small town the burritos were decent, the Big Jake was the winner for us. Green chile with beans and red Chile with beans were just ok. Carne Asada with a side of jalapeño cream cheese was tasty. The chicken burrito with sour cream was good. They are not super big, order 2 if your hungry like the men in the family wished they had done. We are from the city and are used to big burritos like at Filibertos or Rancheritos. read more

Yes sir, this is where the locals go. You found it-and yes it's in a gas station. Umm-our burritos nearly killed us because they were so good. Super tasty salsas and green chili. Everyone from the sheriff to business people, to working folk to outsiders (like us) to cowboys- are all eating together. It was a very cool experience. And they said America can't come together. I won't make you read much. And there isn't much to say. This place is basically a combination of poor quality service, forgettable food, and overpriced meals. In my humble opinion, you don't get your money's worth here. I ordered the trio tacos and carne asada fries. Then proceeded to wait about thirty minutes before receiving my food. While I was waiting I noticed that other people (seemed like locals) who came after me received their food before me. When my food was finally ready I was genuinely unimpressed by the taste. The food was cold, hard, it did not taste fresh. I gotta say the only decent thing from what I ordered was the shrimp taco. I think the tacos were so hard because the tortillas seemed to be handmade, which is appreciated, except they were too thick. It seemed convenient to have stopped here because this restaurant is inside of a gas station. However, if you asked me I'd advise you to skip this place and find another restaurant. The Best Dinner In St. John's In A Gas Station! This is a great spot to grab a nice bite to eat with good prices and food. The Arizona Burrito is my go to. It is a great tasting burrito if you mis the green and red salsas in it. The Mexican Burger is also really good. Stop in and check them out while you get gas or propane or just when you are heading trough St. John's Arizona. Prices are good and the food is tasty! read more

I first ate at El Cupidos several years ago and had the shrimp taco and a carne asada taco and both were delicious. Every time we eat there it is GREAT. I was there two weeks ago and the food is still awesome! The jalapeno sour cream sauce is the BEST. I was disappointed that it was closed on my way out of town on Sunday morning at about 8am. I was so looking forward to a big breakfast burrito to get my trip home started. read more

This is classic good old fashion true small town food. Large home made portions, all the other people eating are people in town, lots of conversations going the only difference from this place and many others I have stopped at is the people are friendly! If you are planning your drive through and this town is on your drive it's a great stop to grab a bite to eat. If you like planes or have kids it's also close enough to get it to go and head over to the airport and see small planes take of and land. read more

I have been staying St. Johns for over 2 yrs and this place has raised their prices about every 3-4 mos....... and charge extra to fry a taco, if you get a meal it is over $10.00 and not worth it.... I won't eat there anymore. They don't care......charge a separate fee for any other normal things....... ie. a beef taco, is an extra charge for frying that taco.... ridiculous .... you pay extra for red sauce on a tamale ..... the food is not that good.......at all!! Very sad, that I can't eat here anymore. This was always my first choice when in St. John's, but no more. There is a newer female employee there now, who is very nice, but lacks basic hygiene. Watching her, on more than one occasion, wipe her nose with her hand then go cook or handle money at the register then touch food, is not appetizing at all. St John's is in dire need of places to eat, as Iggy's has recently closed. As a "business tourist" who comes to St Johns occasionally, Cupidos appears now to be the only viable restaurant on the main drag, if you don't include the Subway. Though it shares space with a gas station and convenience store, Cupidos is pretty good, even compared to big city food, it holds up reasonably well. I've only been there 3 times or so, but I am impressed. Seems to be the best food in town...good service. Nothing fancy, but its a lifesaver if you need some good food. read more

ordered 2 taco salads two days ago....what a real let down....no beans and giant chunks of iceberg lettuce....a smidgen of cheese, where were the olives and pieces of avocado and was pretty gross tasting....I like there food but they need to learn how to make better taco salads !! read more
