I wish I could rate more than 5 stars. El Churro Spot is hands down THE BEST MEXICAN FOOD in Omaha.. probably the entire Midwest. I'm born and raised from California before moving here (and have been to the heart of MX) so trust me when I say I Know Great Mexican food when I have it. I now travel all the way from Blair NE just to eat here on free days. The owner is wonderful and handsome and sacrifices paying for higher quality ingredients to make sure he doesn't cut corners and you can TASTE the freshness every. time. Eat here! You will Never be disappointed! The little restaurant itself is decorated cute too I love their plants and sugar skull pots. They also have a taco truck off of Dodge St.!! Luv you guys!

I love this cozy restaurant on Saddle Creek, and today when I tracked down the truck I met Senor El Churro Spot himself!! I will tell you this: all food made here is delicious. I love the burritos and tacos, my spouse loves the tortas. We both enjoy the lunch specials which combine a couple menu items and a drink and taxes all into one. Now that I think about it, enchiladas are a favorite at lunch, oy! The diversity of goodness makes it hard to choose. Don't forget the churros, which of course are best hot I've never strayed from the original although one day I will branch out to a filled one...

ORIGINAL REVIEW: I first tried their food at their food truck, and now that they have a more permanent location I needed to try them out again! They did not disappoint, I got one taco de asada, 3 tamales, 1 pork and 2 chicken with and agua de Jamaica! Their taco was delicious and it had guacamole included. Tamales were my favorite, especially the green chicken one! The salsas were just the right amount of spice and flavor. The guy that helped us was very nice and check up on us at our table! I will most definitely be back to try their other options! UPDATE 06/11/2022: Went again and tried the torda de carne asada! The most delicious torta I've had in along time!

Solid carne asada tacos at the Churro Truck. I enjoyed the seasoning, but the meat was a tad on the dry side. The green sauce (guac based I think) really brought the flavors together. The churros were fantastic. Crispy on the outside and pillowy on the inside with just the right amount of cinnamon sugar.

    Tacos: Carne asada and cachete.

We had a great meal at El Churro Spot. So often the notion is that you have to venture down to South Omaha to get great Mexican... this is not the case. El Churro Spot is right around the corner from where we live and serves amazing, authentic Mexican. The restaurant is cozy and inviting. We helped ourselves to complimentary chips and salsa while we waited for our meals. The salsa was fantastic! I ordered the carne asada and cachete (cheek) tacos, and my wife ordered the chicken and pork tamales. Both meals were excellent, especially the cachete which was melt-in-your-mouth good! We had a sampling of the various churros for desert, and I especially loved the caramel filled churro. We will be going back very soon!

There should be a line around the parking lot for this truck. Solid carne asada burritos. They give you a hot and a mild sauce to go with. The churros are piping hot and crunchy outside. I've never had a bad meal here. Next time you see the truck stop by, you won't be disappointed!

Came all the way from Elkhorn for dinner tonight. The food is fresh and extremely flavorful. The service is top notch. Will be back and not just for churros!!

Every single item on the menu is 100% delicious. My wife booked them for a lunch at her office for about 25 people. They served around 50 people because the offices around them and across the street heard how great everything was and had to taste the #BOLD flavors for themselves. Everyone could not stop saying how amazing the food is. Make sure to try the elote and the Oreo churro... life changing.

We tried the Oreo and regular churros. They were hot, fresh and delicious!! The elote was spicy and so good. The iced horchata was absolutely delicious.

Well, if you read the history of the restaurant on the wall at their brick-and-mortar location on Leavenworth Street, La Casa claims this is Sicilian style pizza. Maybe it is, but for those who grew up in Omaha and have chomped down their fair share of pizza during travels across the land, we know there is no substitute for a couple good slices -- no, squares -- of La Casa's famous pizza. And now they've brought their comfort food to a curbside near you. I have to admit, of all the restaurants out there launching food trucks, I never expected La Casa to be one of them. But they did. And did it right. Their truck is shiny and new with a limited menu of favorites from their restaurants, from meatball subs to toasted ravioli to a few varieties of pizza, plus gelato for dessert. I stumbled upon them in the parking lot in Benson on a Wednesday night. Starving, I was. Pizza, I had to have. So for $5, I ordered two squares, one sausage and one four cheese. As I took my first bite, I was transported back to a dimly lit dining room in a house converted to a restaurant on Leavenworth street. A few bites later, it was all gone and I was sad and alone sitting on my living room couch. That's the one piece of advice I have -- order more than two squares. Definitely add some onion rings or toasted ravioli or else you'll still be hungry. I mean can you remember the last time you stopped eating after putting down just two squares of La Casa pizza? No, you chomped down half the pie, and you know it.
