Yes, it was the produce section that got me in the door, but there's more than just that. You'll find every imaginable noodle and seaweed snack on the planet and spices and sauces that you didn't know existed. Plus, the dumplings, potstickers and frozen prepared meals! These guys are a family owned business, and have been around for more than 20 years. Over time, they expanded from the back corner of Ivy Place. Tastees has all kinds of Eastern European baked goods, cheeses and meats, imported shelf staples, etc. Nice treats too! The day I stopped by, they had just restocked their Milka chocolates, and there was a broad selection to choose from. They have a neat display case of nesting dolls and various decor items that I enjoyed looking at. Lots of authentic middle eastern groceries. Got some Aleppo chili peppers which is not available anywhere. Also got some Turkish yogurt. Got some real lavash, which was actually thin lavash. Great for shwarma and wraps. Got some orange blossom ice cream. Delicious! Tried middle eastern brand of orange soda. Refreshing! I had to exercise self-discipline and not buy some authentic Turkish delights. Will get them the next time. The owner lady was very friendly and helpful. Look for them on the corner of the lower level of an apartment building. Absolutely worth the visit. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. We first arrived at a late hour and discovered that their remaining prepared foods were 1/2 price. The salmon bento and croquettes were still tasty. The next time we made it during their lunch hour of 10-2 and also tried their noodles. My daughter got the udon and loved it, and it was very reasonably priced at $5.99. The owners are friendly and chatted with us too. Parking is easy and its not too far from downtown.
