Shame on you, cafetalito people! What a pity of customers service. Not even a greeting when you enter the place or when they bring the menu. Just throw the plates on table without a word. Never checked on us eventhough there were only 2 other tables occupied. No paper towels on the only restroom they have to dry hands and when myself and another gentleman notified the guy in charge he just continued eating his bowl of soup and told us to use a napkin. The restaurant was very clean. I was confused about the seating at first because nobody directed us when me and my mother got there. We just sat ourselves and waited hoping someone would see that we needed help. A nice young lady came from the back area and apologized for the delay they were hosting some type of party. Between my mother and myself we ordered 3 pupusas revueltas and two bottled Cokes. I had yet to try a pupusa restaurant who's curtido was actually good and not too soggy or had that strong vinegary taste. This curtido paired with the fresh made to order pupusas were FUEGO. I had a two pupusas of revuelta and queso con loroco that were not impressing, the masa did not have much flavor . My partner ordered the same and her loroco pupusa came without loroco with only a little bit of cheese. Service was slow, even though there were only three other busy tables besides ours. Came for the pupusas. We got the rice flour ones. My girlfriend ordered a cola champan and i got Salvadorean horchata. Both great. Theres no clear parking on the street but otherwise everything tasted great and the restrooms are clean. Came here for a study break. Will come again. read more

I came here the other day for a lunch date with my wife and the place was pretty empty on a Wednesday afternoon around 1 pm. I am not sure if they are always this slow but they only had one table occupied and I saw two customers come in during the 45 minutes that I was there. I would suggest adding some lunch specials and some advertisement to the companies that surround them because I would hate for it to always be that slow. The reason I say this is because the food was really good and I hope they stick around because I live locally and my wife can pick some pupusas on her way home. We ordered platanos fritos with beans and crema and 3 pupusas with a can of soda and a large ensalada beverage. It all came out to about $25 which was not bad for the amount of food we got. We even had to take the rest of the plantains with us because it was a large portion. The pupusas were really good with a good amount of filling and not greasy. The sides that came with it were full of flavor and everything paired really well so I will definitely come here again. read more

My family and I took a trip up to LA and we were headed home, but we had to stop at a gas station, and since we were all hungry we started talking about what we should grab to eat, so my mother suggested Salvadorian food. I yelped just that and this place came up. We drove to it and even though it seemed like it wasn't open we got out of the car and went to check. As soon as you walk in the place gives you a wonder vibe, like a home feel to it. We order pupusas and a carne adada entree, best decisions ever. Everything was amazing and the taste was magnificent. We've had Salvadorian food before but this place completely blew our minds. It's small but wonderful and everyone in there is so friendly and nice. This is a great place for Pupusas! The service is always friendly and quick. When on the go, I order ahead and never have to worry about the pack out. They always remember the sauce, curtido, utensils and napkins. When eating in, the service is friendly and attentive without being over bearing. I personally like the rice pupusas here (instead of the regular corn made). I've recommended to friends and so far they all like it too. read more

this place is down the street from our office. the first time i tried it, I thought it was way too greasy, so i gave it another shot. it was actually much better! the first time was take out but the second time I ate inside the restaurant. talk about hole in the wall! its totally a hidden gem in Commerce. the prices are cheap, there's street and lot parking, and they are pretty quick with service. read more

First time customer. The wife picked the place. We normally go to La Caravana in Pasadena for good Salvadorian food. Today we happen to be on this side of town and thought we'd try it. One of the greatest feelings in the world is trying a new place and loving it. Wife thought the restaurant was "cute" and "elegant". Freddy our waiter was super nice and recommended what he said was popular and what he liked the most. Bistek Ensebollada (steak n onions) is what I ordered and I will definitely order it again. Wife ordered the beef stew and that was pretty bomb too. Only, and I mean ONLY reason I almost gave it 4 stars is because I didn't agree with the fact that they didn't have an entree that featured pupusas. No sampler platter with the fixins' or anything.
